I so did read them. Guess what else I read... the worst porn literature IN THE WORLD. So abysmal, I really enjoyed it. I'm allowed though, cos I do read reputable things too. And now I have a kindle, my new baby... fuck the kids, what kids???

Good to hear from you sugar, hope all is well in your world and your sons too. I'm glad you are only "semi-retired", the internet would definitely not be the same without ya! And Elton John died back in '97, shortly after Diana. Tragic times, we couldn't cope with the loss of two queens. Embalming fluid, puppetry and mirrors, no one knows the difference.

It's about damn time. I thought I was gonna have to kill some videos just to speed up the process. My tired, lazy, "old man" ass can't handle being on top anymore. Doctor's orders.

Enjoy your retirement. It's pretty sweet. I'm semi-retired from the entire internet these days. I actually started reading shit again. I wasn't sure if my addlepated old brain was up to it, but amazingly I can handle it. And there not even books about sparkly vampires. (Ha ha, I still know you read them.)

Now open your front door and brace yourself for a bright light. It's called the "sun". (Or maybe not. In England I think the sun only comes out once per monarch.)

I hope the kids are doing well. And you too. God save Elton John!

I am now placed firmly on top of you! Finally, my greatest dreams recognised. I can now go into retirement, save me a comfortable armchair old man xxx

Levon.

From a cotton farm in Turkey Scratch Arkansas to the very pinnacle of the music world. 71 year old Levon Helm will soon be gone. Thought I'd post this tribute song written by Elton John from his 1971 album "Madman Across the Water".

Story here. http://www.ottawacitizen.com/Entertainment/Music/6474166/story.html

From the above story "Born May 26, 1940, in Turkey Scratch, Arkansas, the son of cotton farmers, he learned to play guitar and drums as a child. By 17 he was appearing in honky tonks in and around nearby Helena and taking in performance by such southern legends as Conway Twitty, Elvis Presley, Bo Diddley, and Ronnie Hawkins.

He joined Hawkins’ rockabilly band The Hawks just before they moved to Canada in the late 1950s.

In the early 1960s, Helm and Hawkins recruited Canadians Robbie Robertson (guitar), Rick Danko (bass) and pianist Richard Manuel and organist Garth Hudson. They left Hawkins and toured as Levon and the Hawks before backing Bob Dylan in the mid-60s. Fans weren’t initially receptive to Dylan’s switch from acoustic folky to electric folk-rocker, and Helm headed back south, working on offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico for a couple of years until bassist Rick Danko asked him to rejoin the group that would become known around the world as, simply, The Band"

I thought he was funny. People complain that he wasn't insulting enough but given the range of people that were presenting he'd be a bit hard pressed to insult half of them cos they're the nice end of the hollywood spectrum - banderas, portman, etc. they're hardly flamboyant or selfish or anything. Got a few really good insults in, made a fool out of depp and depp loved it, got elton thank god, and a REALLY good insult about the lavishness of the affair during a recession which for me made this the best speech of all he's done; great statement from a man who has enough money to pay no attention to the hardships of a recession.

Just look at that miserable fat fucking flamboyant diva cunt elton john. Miserable twat, i felt my soul start to drain as soon as the camera centred on his jowly podgy churchill cheeks. He's like a fat, old, ugly, slightly camp dementor sucking up the joy everywhere he goes and depositing misery in its place. I've never seen an old man throw a temper tantrum like a 6 year old girl until him. Cos that's what he is. Old. And a D-list celebrity.

Sorry.

Today I learned that I don't like Nicholas Cage as an actor. Though there are many artists that I dislike, there are relatively few that I didn't dislike immediately, that I have tolerated for so many years, and then suddenly develop or realize a deep-seated dislike for their works. The only other one that I can think of is Elton John. Queen was like that for me too, but after a shorter period of time. I stopped liking them when I was in High School. I stopped liking Elton John when I worked for a month in a kitchen where Elton John was the chef's favourite. And I stopped liking Nicholas Cage today when I saw The Lord Of Death. Great movie, shame it had to be Nick Cage. The script and production were great, the material was on the page. The Lord of Death could have been an academy award winning role. But instead they got Nick Cage.
