*facepalm*

Wanna know what kind of moron I am? I have all three blu-ray box sets and I'm still making my way through season 3, but I haven't even considered watching the special features.

I think I'm going to have to backtrack to watch all those before I continue.

Thanks for reminding me what a dipshit I am! And thanks for the links!

(I also just finished the full Breaking Bad series and didn't watch any special features on those. Now I'm contemplating if I should.)

Rick Grimes vs Walter White. Epic Rap Battles of History

I'm in the middle of rewatching Breaking Bad, so this was especially potent for me.

I especially like the line about how Walter Jr. handles walkers better than Rick. LMFAHS.

Bryan Cranston Scared Sh*tless in new Godzilla Trailer

lakawak says...

I think it is kind of funny that so many people think "Oooh...Bryan Cranston is in it! So it must be good." Not only before Breaking Bad...but SINCE Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston has been in one awful movie after another. Before Breaking Bad: The Big Thing. Terror Tract. Erotique. After Breaking Bad stared: Love Ranch. Larry Crowne. Rock of Ages. John Carter. And he is not stranger to awful remakes of old movies either, with Total Recall.

So having Bryan Cranston in your movie credit is far from a guarantee of a good movie.

Top 10 Breaking Bad Scenes

"Conform with society"?

I'm not really sure where the conformist message is in Breaking Bad. Do you mean the part where the main character becomes increasingly amoral, but succeeds in making millions of dollars and murdering everyone who gets in his way?

Can you elaborate? Not mocking you, I'm genuinely interested to see how you feel it's conformist.

It was a great show, but I didnt like the ending. It was too conform with society. But at least it showed the tragedy of indoctrination.

We use the "Hola Unblocker" extension for Firefox or Chrome. It's free, bypasses the region blocking, and doesn't slow down the streaming at all. Been using on U.S. Netflix from Japan for over a month now with no problems.

Haven't seen House of Cards yet though. I'm still working through Breaking Bad which only has released up to season 3 here in Japan.

I have to say that when I first heard they were remaking House Of Cards, I was dreading it.

There is no way that "Frank Underwood" could possibly hold a candle to Francis Urquhart, I thought.

But every clip I've seen makes me think this could be worth watching.

Now if only netflix would drop their ridiculous region blocking, I have some monies for them.

How Wolves Changed Yellowstone National Park

raverman says...

Maybe? Maybe that's why we're so fascinated with story lines of vigilantes and non-plussed when a hero kills anyone we can feel comfortable classing as "bad". Dexter, Breaking bad, etc.

Unchecked expansion of any creature is harmful.

We're stuck. We're uniquely social and empathetic (and selfish). We can't just kill off the baddies (but we fantasize about it). We can't prevent our population expanding (without ruthless mass contraceptives / eugenics). And we're part of a growth based system - like China: without enough young people to support the old, our economic system starts creak.

Does that mean that there is an acceptable rate of harmful sociopathic behavior within human systems? So introduce large groups of calculating murderers into populations where the growth of humanity endangers the ecosystem?

Breaking Bad Alternate Ending

He's been great on The Big Bang Theory.

Was this filmed as part of the special features of a Breaking Bad box set or something?

For those who don't know, this is a send-up of the final episode of the television show, Newhart, starring Bob Newhart. In the final scene of the last episode of 8-seasons, Bob wakes up in the bedroom next to the wife from his previous television series, called The Bob Newhart Show.

Top 10 TV Show Title Sequence Intros

artician says...

Game of Thrones? It was creative, but despite their caveat at the beginning, I'd personally love to see more intro sequences like Breaking Bad. Not that I'm a huge fan, but I was grateful to see that it shuts the fuck up and gets out of the way as fast as possible. To me, that's perfection.

Zero Punctuation: Grand Theft Auto 5

EMPIRE says...

It's official. Yahtzee is 100% troll.

This game is nothing short of amazing. It's graphically impressive (not as much as The Last of Us for example, but one has to consider the scale and freedom of one and the other), there's tons to do and see, and the gameplay is pretty fun. Yes the characters are all terrible people, but that's all part of the charm. Even the shrink is an asshole. Walter White was an awful person and Breaking Bad was still amazing.
