I had something to say about Blizzard trailers being epic *quality ...but now I can't remember what is was.......

Sorry. I swore off Blizzard after Diablo 3.

The game looks good, but my hypocrisy goes only so far. I'll stick with DOTA 2 ty.

This is very upsetting to me. I had finally walked away for good after the 5th try or so. Now I have to come back and play it MORE and MORE! This just isn't fair, when can I be allowed to go outside Blizzard?!

This is a great review. I unfortunately(fortunately) got my beta key two or three weeks ago on a Friday night and that is all I did that weekend (and spent $60 on cards).

The Beta is very much a polished product conducive enough for a review. I think it is an interesting departure for Blizzard, and even though it is a card game - it really does feel like a Warcraft game in the Blizzard vein. Blizzard has always had a boner for Popcap, this is like a boner for Popcap with Blizzard elements (more action based) influenced by Magic. It's alright by me, I honestly like Popcap games as well! Even if those games are "casual" they are tight as fuck.

I probably should have mentioned in the review that the game is currently in beta -- you've got me there (though I mention it in the description on youtube).

But it's not exactly like I stumbled into some early friends and family beta and posted a review. There are thousands of people playing the game right now. There's no NDA. And Blizzard is charging real, no-foolin' cash for packs of cards and to enter the arena. As far as I'm concerned, if they're going to charge money for it, it's open season for reviews.

I have a solution: Get those rich fuckers all on that jumbo jet he used in his analogy(rigged to be flown remotely), then send it into a mountainside during a blizzard. I was underwhelmed to say the least during the presentation... Media Molecule got the biggest applause of the night. Got excited for a moment when Blizzard came out, then was let down by the Diablo 3 announcement, was hoping for something more exciting, but even if they release Titan on anything but PC they won't announce it at all until Blizzcon so not sure what I was expecting there... and yeah, the guy coming out to say we'll announce the next Final Fantasy at E3 was a cheap shot. And nothing really new from Destiny. I think the whole event was best summed up by XBox's Major Nelson who said something along the lines of "Have an event announcing your new console and not show it, that's one way of doing it."

I use my PS3 mostly for Bluray (it was by far the cheapest way into Bluray at the time) and Netflix (as my 360 sucks on Netflix on my network for some reason) and rarely games, that's what my PC is for and 360... It was nice to see it is indeed using x86 as rumored, and I was a little lost on why they didn't at least mention that it does have a Bluray drive during the event... something they mentioned in a followup press release as if they forgot...

The question now is, does Microsoft show early or wait for E3 for the whole show? They could do an pre-E3 show and show how it should be done... This was just badly handled. I mean 2 hours for what could have taken 30 minutes tops... and I still would have at least showed the system.

Soooo we just got a monster blizzard here, and im wondering what would happen if you coated your car with this stuff... Would save people a lot of headache lol

Well, at least Blizzard can still make proper cut-scenes, I sometimes think they should just drop the whole gaming thing and just start making movies.

I still have my Wingman Extreme sitting high on a shelf, just waiting for a new PC Tie Fighter or MechWarrior. Single player campaigns/missions, LAN, no consolitis bullshit, FULLY configurable keyboard and controller assignments. I don't even care if it's purty. Just don't let LucasArts, Ubisoft, id, EA, Blizzard, or Microsoft anywhere near it.

I think it's a bug and a coincidence. I was really talking about phones and other embedded devices rather than laptops, but you have a point that it's kinda similar here.

Here's the thing though: Win8 is so different to win7 and vista that Microsoft would be taking a huge risk if they tried to make people switch to it before they got used to the change. Given that people will have to re-learn a whole lot of stuff (or install classic shell) anyway, what's to stop them looking around and buying a macbook air, or installing Ubuntu on their old laptop?

Look, I readily concede that your way is possible, but it just doesn't seem terribly likely to sober me (drunk me could have a different opinion, but I wouldn't listen to him if I were you).

Hang on a sec - what your saying is old unsupported devices - such as a 4 year old Windows Vista 7 laptop have a best version. So why, JUST NOW, right when win8 is around the corner are the automatic updates which are enabled on every new PC restricting my dad's functionality?

This isn't a case of his installed the latest win8 beta (he has not surprisingly as he was in IT for 30 years - but it's in a separate boot partition and runs all of his usb functions perfectly). This is an update to vista 32 bit drivers which has lessoned his functionally roughly a month before win8 comes out.

Could be a bug, could be a coincidence. Could be microsoft are shaking the tree just enough to make people question if they need the new OS.

Lets take a couple more points of view - you've probably seen the start trek TNG vs special edition videos where the original footage looked WAY worse than what was aired originally. If not maybe your a gamer? Notice how blizzard are preparing "Titan" for launch (new mmo) whilst at the same time releasing a kung-fu panda expansion for wow whilst addressing none of the failings Guild Wars 2 has highlighted.

It pays for companies to make their old products look obsolete whilst retaining their brand loyalty
