I Think I Was An Alcoholic

I Think I Was An Alcoholic

Obama releases full birth certificate, now STFU idiots. PLZ?

Winstonfield_Pennypacker says...

That a real American President likes only America, and no other countries?

No – a real American President can like other countries, but has to like America more.

and what about all that fanatical secrecy in hiding his past

All the Bush stuff does nothing but prove my point. There was enough shady stuff in Bush’s past for conspiracy theorists to hang a hat on. Obama is 10X worse. So when conspiracy theorists come along, the average person may not believe the extremes – but there’s more than enough flesh on the skeleton to make them have enough doubts to not dismiss it entirely.

But let's get real. It isn't just the GOP here that is driving this story. The issue here is that Obama's numbers are plummeting across the ENTIRE spectrum. Obama has been hemhorraging Independants, Moderates, and even DEMOCRATS for months. His policies are complete failures. His objectives are counter-intuitive disasters. The people gave him a chance, and he blew it. So they're dumping this epic-fail and in response he's getting desperate.

I'm 100% certain he was sitting on his birth cert and WAITING for just ONE serious GOP contender to start carping about it. None of them ever did. I'm also 100% sure that Trump has no intention of really running. But when he started trending up in the polls, Obama decided to pull the trigger. It wasn't what Obama wanted, but it woudl have to do because clearly all the REAL opponents were not taking the bait.

Then Obama gives a stupid speech about the birth certificate where he is literally WHINING like a moronic jackass about how he's got "important stuff to do". But for two WEEKS he's been doing nothing but going out and FUNDRAISING for his re-election. Total hypocrite. So whatever good will he thought he was going to get just went right out the window. And his poll numbers tanked again. No surprise there.

Tell me what magical wand Obama will wield to bring down gas prices.

The magic wand is a SENSIBLE multi-pronged energy policy. For decades the US policy on domestic energy production has been one of constriction, restriction, and eviction. Permits are denied. Lawsuits are constant. The cost of doing business is so high that companies go overseas, leaving domestic energy production hanging by its fingertips and with very little wiggle room when events start causing uncertainty in the market. A sensible policy would support aggressive domestic production of ALL energy sources – fossil, nuclear, bio, hydro, geo, solar & wind – not just one or two of them. ANY policy would be better than Obama's. His plan is to cram everyone in $50,000 golf carts.

Harvey Fineberg: Are we ready for neo-evolution?

bamdrew says...

... to continue my previous rant, ... these bio-ethicists like to paint the pictures like we understand waaay more than we actually do about genetics and epigenetics.

Many medical researchers are still afraid (appropriately, in my mind) that the various stem cell treatment and gene therapies will actually give people cancers in the long term.

Harvey Fineberg: Are we ready for neo-evolution?

bamdrew says...

I find these bio-ethicist talks super-boring.

"Hello. This one guy did this great experiment like 5 years ago. I'm going to now take the obvious extension of this work and act like I'm the first person to realize that we could soon be doing this in humans... But wait!... Should we do this is humans?! Ok, thats my time, thanks."

Should Information About VideoSift Members be Recorded on wiki.videosift.com? (User Poll by dag)

NetRunner says...

I say we let the wiki include information on our members/memes/history. Otherwise it seems like a waste of a wiki.

If it starts being overrun with vandalism/abuse, then we can revisit, but I say let's try it and see what develops.

Of course, I may just be saying that because my first idea for a page for a videosift wiki was to make "pigfucker" point to blankfist's bio page.

Should Information About VideoSift Members be Recorded on wiki.videosift.com? (User Poll by dag)

kronosposeidon says...

I mentioned in another thread that indeed there is nothing to prevent someone from creating a separate site or blog about VideoSift. However that doesn't mean we have to do it here. We don't have to be a part of that. And even if we did post Sift history and member bios in our Wiki, that still doesn't mean that someone else won't do it on blogspot, wordpress, typepad, or wherever.

The cat's always been out of the bag. Someone could have been posting Sift history and member info elsewhere a long time ago. There's also nothing stopping someone from creating another video voting site. We can't control that either. But at least we can control what we do here, and I don't think we need to kick the hornet's nest in our own backyard.

Posting history and biographies here will not prevent it from happening somewhere else. Let's just not do it here in the first place. >> ^ctrlaltbleach:

On a side note even if you try and ban this now the cats out of the bag whats to stop said malicious offender of writing a web documentation somewhere where the sift cannot control? People are curious by nature and destructive by nature while I may have good intentions another member may just love mischief and mayhem none of us really have the power to stop gossip here on the internets or in our real lives.

7 Billion Graphically- More Stats on Global Pop Growth

GeeSussFreeK says...

Neat stat about the size of LA. Even more amazing now how "little" space that humanity takes up physically when you consider the vertical dimension. I wonder if most of these population problems will be solved with turning the earths volume into its surface area. I also wonder if it wouldn't be more energy efficient to live below the surface. It is more difficult to do trivial things, but much easier to do more complicated things...at list least close to the surface where there isn't super pressure yet. And why don't we have bubble cities under the ocean yet! I want my underwater bio-dome!

WL: US bullies Europe on behalf of Monsanto

criticalthud says...

and i will add that scientists, while doing some amazing things, also routinely kill people.
pcb's, bovine growth hormone, nuclear radiation, nuclear bombs, bio-warfare, missile technology, ddt, malathion, agent orange, you name it, scientists, in the name of profit, have compiled a laundry list of chemicals, compounds, and weapons that accidentally or purposely kill people.
Western medicine, in their wisdom, also routinely kill people. it's called "iatrogenic death" - or, death by doctor. One of the most common ways to die.
Monsanto exists to make a profit... period.

The World According to Monsanto - A documentary...

notarobot says...

"The reason why GM crops are here is based on a deception that occured in the FDA." (25:00)

"From a corporate standpoint it was a brilliantly orchestarted takeover [of the FDA]" (30:00)

"Donald Rumsfeld was the CEO of Serle which was a Monsanto subsidiary. The former US trade ambassador Mikey Canter ended up on Mansanto's Board. Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas used to work for Monsanto. (44:00)

"Biotechnology is so important that we can't let a few little questions about cow safety or human safety get in the way." (43:20)

"Round-Up ready [genetically modified] soybeans account for ninety percent of the soybeans grown in the U.S.. In fact seventy percent of the food in American stores contains bio-engineered elements." (58:00)

This film is so incredibly quotable in it's detail about how Monsanto is a danger to the health of the food of the world, but I'll stop here.
