I didn't want to get you involved with the dialogue; I figured you wanted to be kept out of it because when you said it to me, it was private.

I couldn't resist using it. If it makes it up to you at all, before I said it to her, I spread it around among my friends and family at our Christmas gathering. [I wonder if thepinky will cite that as Christians gathering together to hate Mormons?]

Also, I had a dream that you changed your name to 'Schmawry' and whenever anyone forgot to add the new r, you made an angry SiftTalk post about it. Weird, eh?

Stealing my material without so much as a footnote! I suppose you were just being discreet, because it's sort of nasty. It's worth noting that I also invented the phrase "Bad Hair Day" in 1989 in Pittsburgh, Pa. I said it to (my roommate), and he loved it so much that he used it every day. It spread like wildfire because for a while, people were off the hook for having bad hair, I think.

It's such a great line. Often things are most funny because they hint at the truth.

In reply to this comment by schmawy:
That's my line, Pinky. I actually take credit [e: or blame} for authoring it.

UsesProzac, I think you accidentally made this private, or maybe you're just afraid that your friends might see you for the troll that you are? Stop trying to provoke me. I prefer that you leave me alone.

The second "m" in "mormon" is silent.

That's the best idea I've heard yet. I may actually pursue this. Thanks.

Maybe do some research and make a list of famous/successful/noble people who started out poor, abused, or in general unfortunate conditions. Money is really not that important anyway, but of course some level of comfort and security are. I find mine in my faith. It makes up for my lack of security and funds. That in particular has been demonstrated to be one of the single greatest motivators in the world be it in poor communities, in prisons, in hospitals, etc., but not everyone has it of course.

I wouldn't say "you can be anything you want to be." I don't think that's really true and I never thought it was true. When I was a kid, I thought adults were just being stupid when they told us that.

"You can have a good life" is a safe statement though. I believed that and I still do. Setting realistic, short term goals can help too.

I'm getting to the point where I'd pay for music that was new and good. So much of the music I like is old. Let me know when your mix cd is up!

In reply to this comment by Farhad2000:
Yeah I have a weird and diverse taste in music. Am actually planning to put out a mixCD on the internet/torrents called cosmonauts escape which will be a 10 to 15 track listing of the best spacy, hypnotic chillout music I found over the last couple of years. Of course it will be free

In reply to this comment by UsesProzac:
You must have good taste or something.. A lot of the songs I want to upload, you've already Sifted. I'm obliged to upvote them.

You're sweet. Thank you.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that. You have my thoughts and prayers.

Normally, I am a lucid dreamer, but lately, I've been having nightmares that I can't control and can only wake myself up from. And if I go back to sleep, I'm right back in the nightmare. I think it's stress, my cousin died, my rabbit died and I had a miscarriage, all in the space of two days. Eh, thanks subconscious for making my sleeping life hell, too.

In reply to this comment by Doc_M:
Practice lucid dreaming. I'm a very vivid dreamer and I used to have absolutely terrifying nightmares. Now, I'm able to end them because I recognize they are dreams while I'm dreaming them. It wakes me up, but it ends the nightmare. It takes time to master it, but it's worth it. Read up; practice up. Lucid dreaming can be fun too.
