Do you consider the film Die Hard a Christmas movie? (User Poll by eric3579)
Not really, no. A Christmas movie to me has Christmas as an essential part of the plot, not just a movie that is regularly showing on Christmas.
That said, this reminds me of the Christmas version of Castle Wolfenstein 3D...
Doom WASN'T 3D! - Digressing and Sidequesting
Jinx: Wolfenstein 3D did not have a Z coordinate, in Doom one could set floor and ceiling height and specify how far down/up the walls should extend. Players and monsters would then correctly follow the floor level (or fly).
The 3D environment (think of it as being inside a box rather than on top of a playing field) was correctly displayed from a first person perspective and you could move in it in all 3 directions. Aiming and shooting (and lighting and determining LOS) was 2D.
Wolfenstein - 3D display, 2D movement and aim.
Doom - 3D display and movement, 2D aim.
Quake - 3D all three counts. And mouselook.
All other FPSs ever - small improvements in graphics and gameplay :-)

Wolfram Gameplay Trailer (Wolfenstein 3D/Wolf3D's E1M1)
Actually, I never found them all, always ended up two secrets short by the time the mechanized Führer showed up.>> ^ant:
Haha, me too. But do you remember ALL the secrets in the whole game?

Even 20 years later, I still remember which of those wall tiles provide access to secret areas, yet I can't remember what I had for lunch on Friday. Way to go, brain.
Haha, me too. But do you remember ALL the secrets in the whole game? I am bad with DOOM 1-2 as well. Ah, my teen(age) days.

A lot of people instantly jump to 'Hitler+Nazis!' in their minds as soon as they hear 'Germany'
Not me. I grew up on Wolfenstein 3D so I think Hitler+Nazis+Mutants+Zombies when I hear "Germany".
I assume Germany's censorship laws aren't so successful that you've never played Wolfenstein?
I didn't. I'm sure some did.

Hitler Reacts to Wolfenstein 3D
>> ^rasch187:
I just love it when a serious movie about the the last days of the greatest mass-murderer in history turns into a joke for 14-year olds and their kindred spirits from around the world
I hate Internet kiddies as much as anyone, but if they want to make Hitler into a pompous, petty clown then I have no problem with that.
