I really think gun control laws are about making sure an armed mob doesn't form TRY to overthrow authority.
They are also an attempt, granted a poor attempt, to put roadblocks in the way of whack jobs and irate murderous people in (often vain) hopes that they'll either be calmed by the wait or denied. While those roadblocks can be circumvented, they do likely stop many crimes of passion that would otherwise turn to attempted murders just by making the gunmen wait. Of course, that does nothing to stop dispassionate murderers or those that stay mad longer than the 10 day wait.

Also, both of those are huge US problems....uncontrolled emotions AND insanity. ;-)

Gun control laws have always been about making sure a militia doesn't form to overthrow the duly elected secretariat. It has nothing to do with public safety.

If someone wants to go around killing a bunch of people with a gun, they will do that. Period. It happens up here in Canada and we have higher barriers to gun ownership than even what US gun control advocates are asking for. I can go out and buy a fully automatic AK-47 within minutes and I'm in sleepy old Victoria. I've met the people who have access, and they don't care if you're a whack job.

What we don't have is routine legal gun deaths from people who merely get pissed off. THAT is the US problem. Emotions, not insanity.

I've said this a few times but it never fails to amaze me.

As i understand it, this incident was preceded by a high speed chase which endangers everyone, the officers, the suspect and everyone on the streets. Adrenaline is high and i even understand maybe wanting to whack the guy.

But for the love, you have to KNOW their are helicopters and people recording you. Its absolutely inescapable.

So that leaves monumental stupidity and somehow not realizing this fact, or they simply have zero fear of reprisal or consequence.

I'm not really sure there is a third option.

Looks to me like the tailgater either can't drive worth shit or their vehicle brakes are out of whack. Either way, they shouldn't be that close to anyone.

Brake check to a complete stop? Ya, that would have been dangerous and negligent. Looked to me like he just lit up his brake lights and the tailgater overreacted.

Is that regulation hair length? You can see how wearing it down fucks with your vision. Especially in windy situations like this.

Basically, there were three camps around Ron Paul.

1st was the conservative camp. 2nd was the liberal camp. 3rd was the everyone who voted for Paul camp.

In the 1st one people hated Paul because he didn't follow their platform. He didn't want to ban abortion at the level of the federal government, he didn't want to make gay marriage illegal with a broad pen stroke and he wasn't keen on telling people they could drink but not smoke pot. He believed the states should decide.

In other words, this camp was solely based on their own selfish beliefs. Me me me, greed greed greed. Give me. Fuck the honest guy.

In the second camp people hated Paul because he didn't follow their platform. He didn't want federal government handouts, one-sized fits-all approach to education or legalization of gay marriage or abortion at the federal level. He believed states should decide.

In other words, this camp was solely based on their own selfish beliefs. Me me me, greed greed greed. Give me. Fuck the honest guy.

Then there was the 3rd camp. They valued him as a candidate, and said fuck the platform. Platform voting has been destroying our country and polarizing our nation since the beginning.

What makes me so pissed is that the first 2 camps believe they were doing the right thing. Like a rapist in India trying to make a lesbian straight...yeah, great morals there guys...these delusional whack jobs disgust me. Yeah, it is fine to vote against Ron Paul without being labeled as such, so long as you 100% believed your candidate was morally superior to Paul. And as long as that belief had nothing to do with platform...

Wow, powerful video. I think this is why certain psychedelics, can (can) help people with addictions or even people with simple obsessions (porno, video games, etc). They have the potential to temporarily exit the cage for self reflection or experience outside of it. Some of the more powerful ones (iboga, ayahuasca) really physiologically reset the afflicted receptor sites - and much much more.

I agree whole-heartily that the way that the US handles drug addiction, mental illness & criminality are completely out of whack. Implying that the direct parallels between those subjects are ignorance (or taboo), incarceration & the lack of clear, precise scientifically proven reformation.
