VW Golf GTI MK7 review
The GTI'll probably be similarly equipped (which is the one I hope to get), but no I don't think the standard Golf will be. I had heard that the Golf 7 in NA will be like the new Jetta, slightly cheaper in production (no soft touch dash, rear suspension, etc) but sold cheaper. Worked well for them with the Jetta. They're everywhere.
But on the vw.ca website, the promo pics of the Golf 7 have a TSI badge on it. Maybe they're doing away with the 2.5 engine?
Unfortunately, it'll probably be stripped of all the nice features before coming to NA. The only thing they'll leave intact will be the price.
Putin reacts like Putin™ when "attacked" by Femen
Merkel and Putin were given a tour of the Volkswagen XL1. The bloke to the right of Merkel at 0:05, with his back turned towards the camera, is Martin Winterkorn, CEO of VW.
Was Putin promoting a Volkswagon?
How Turbo-Charger's are made
What's the difference between a turbocharger and a supercharger? Isn't it something like that the supercharger boosts power at lower revs, while a Turbo requires higher revs?
In Australia we have the Euro spec VW's, and my Golf had a 4 cylinder 1.4 litre engine with a turbocharger and a supercharger putting out 118 kilowatts (around 160 hp). Here in North America they have that 5 cylinder, 2.5 litre engine that produces 170 hp. Only 10 hp difference between a 1.4 and 2.5 litres!

Volvo Trucks - Emergency braking at its best!
It's OK because - like all lorry drivers - he'll be leaving a safe gap between himself and the lorry in front...
I've had to personally pull the bleeding mangled body of a lorry driver - who was driving too close to the lorry in front when it braked - from his cab. He survived, but by luck alone.
Personally I think stuff like this is fantastic. I've got a simple little VW Polo and the ESP system is incredibly clever. It's nigh on impossible to get it to spin or do anything it shouldn't do.
Lots of people complain about stuff like this and say it takes control away from the driver, as if that's a bad thing. Computers are a hell of a lot better at it than humans!
Hope the gas tanker behind the Volvo also has some sort of nifty brake.
VW Touareg V10 TDI Vs. Chevy Duramax Bumper pull
What are you talking about, both the penis' behind the wheels of these vehicles are probably American. Someone just fucking hates America(n).
Outmatched vehicles:
553 ft.-lbs. of torque at 2000 rpm and 310 HP (18:1 comp ratio w/dual-turbo chargers) with the Toureg
520 lb-ft @ 1,800 RPM- 6.6 liter w/300 hp @ 3100 rpm with bouncy there-
While both seem matched, the VW's the real piece of work.
Engineering be damned, the Germans pretty much extended their penises farther than any country with their fucking master -race shit.
Got to hand it to the insect-like attention to details, though....after WW2, a shitload of their engineers came to the U.S.
So, buy a Mercedes Benz and enjoy it....great car, until you need repairs...Ka-Chiniig!!

Chinese Farmer Creates Wind-Powered Car
Whenever I see something like this I always think 'how do the people running these scams get away with it?'
Then I read the comments here and realise people are far too uninformed to understand the problems. I'm not going to say stupid, just uninformed. Physics, science generally and maths are seen as geeky subjects studied by nerds which can be safely ignored by the cool kids because they'll never need them in real life. This leads to the completely uninformed comments above. Anyone who thinks this could work is wrong. If you think it will extend the range you are wrong.
There is a hell of a lot of money to be made from fuel efficiency in cars. Which do you think is more likely: Ford, BMW, Mercedes, VW, Honda, Toyota, Volvo, GM, Dodge, et al with all the hundreds of millions of pounds or dollars or Yen or whatever they spend on development missed something a farmer in China was able to build in his garage - or the farmer in China is wrong? Add to the car makers all the companies who make planes and trains and boats and it shows a pretty obvious fact.
Yep, the Chinese farmer is wrong. Simple.
But the worst thing about this video is that it exists. I'm sure farmers all over the world come up with stupid ideas all the time (as do people from other walks of life too!), but that doesn't mean they need to make a video about it.
