Conan busts the secret employee "Foodie List"
Are you still on Windows XP? I was forced to upgrade because its HDD suicided hard overnight back in 10/11/2016. However, it was time to move on which was OK even though my desktop PCs are about a decade old.
Still running XP till someone can upgrade my puter.
By the way which windows should i upgrade to. I was thinking 7 as its probably most familiar to XP.

Armadillo Cargo Bike With Hydrogen Fuel Cell, 300 km range
Have you ever ridden a 10+ speed or mountain bike for hours on end? Recumbent bikes are far more comfortable, and can facilitate greater pedal power because you have something to push against.
I couldn't figure out why there's no cockpit or fairing. That seems like a design flaw to me....or a planned upgrade at extra cost.
if it's such a bulky machine, why not make it regular bike sitting position with an encloded cockpit? Better visibility and warmer in cold Swedish winters.
Bloodhound : Driving the world’s fastest car in 360 video
I personally don't feel upgrading the casters on your jet engine test stand means you've created a "car".
Unreal Engine's Human CGI is So Real it's Unreal
What this company (snapperstech.com) did is put together an upgraded control "rig" to manipulate facial expressions, taking into account muscle limits and interactions, skin elasticity, etc.
A little more info in the video's YT desc :
-Adaptive rig: which allows combining any number of expressions using optimized list of blendshapes.
-Real facial muscles constraints: the advanced rig logic simulates real facial muscles constraints.
-Advanced skin shader (for Maya and Unreal): holds up to 16 wrinkles maps and 16 dynamic diffuse maps with micro details and pores stretching.
-Easy to manipulate using facial controllers and/or GUI.
-Compatible with all game engines and animation packages.
-Smooth transition between all the expressions.
-Adjustment layer: freeform manipulation of multiple regions of the face to create unlimited variations of the same expression.
The real-time rendering part is achieved by the Unreal engine itself. The final rendering performance still relies mainly on the hardware used.
Yeah, the real-time aspect of it is insanely good, although I'd still like to know how much of the rendering budget it takes up, i.e. is this usable in a game or just a research project at the moment?
What do you mean by "only one modifier is being applied"? Which is my other criticism of the video; a voiceover explaining the tech would have been more interesting than the music.
I don't believe that "multiple modifiers" would make this look better, for the simple reason that if you're demoing a technology like this, you end with ALL the bells and whistles to make it look as good as possible.

When Windows 10 makes you racist
To be fair, prior to the Windows 10 upgrade spam "updates" in Windows 7, one could generally trust Windows updates to be in the best interest of the user to install.
Then those came around, and suddenly Micro$oft got caught doing blatantly shady things and passing them off as "critical updates". "Get Windows 10" nagware, telemetry, "genuine advantage", etc. that snuck in by being as vague as possible in KB entries, sending the updates multiple times, and/or unnecessarily combining elements that users might have legitimate reasons to NOT want along with updates that actually were actually important.
I was running Windows 7 and made an informed decision to avoid Windows 10 (because I didn't want telemetry, don't approve of the "cloud" / seeing the OS as a licensed rental paradigm vs owning it, trend towards walled garden, etc.). Then one day I got the "GWX" Windows 10 update nagware through an update. I discovered how to disable / remove that, and started to scrutinize the updates more closely, but a while later it snuck back in and made me aware of M$'s attempts to hide it and get it on to ALL Windows machines.
For a while I continued to run Windows 7, while attempting to be vigilant about picking and choosing updates to keep those things I found undesirable out. After Windows 10 came out, in some ways that got even harder because they started trying to backport the telemetry etc. into 7. Eventually, I gave up and turned off updates altogether.
By that point, I had gone from checking in with Linux as a hobby once in a while to using it as my daily driver for all mission-critical stuff, along with any computer usage that generates personally identifying data (web browsing / banking / etc.). I keep Windows around purely for games that don't run well or at all in Linux. So, I don't care much about any vulnerability to ransomware or whatever as a result of not updating. All data that needs to be protected is on an ext4 Linux partition on a different physical drive and/or machine that Windows has no access to, so worst case scenario I lose saved games and have to reformat and reinstall Windows for games.
I wouldn't want to be doing important, work-related stuff like rendering on an un-updated Windows machine like the guy in the video, but on the other hand a big chunk of that is Micro$oft's fault for abusing the whole update process to put in stuff that benefits THEM rather than USERS.
To be fair, this isn't actually a problem, unless you're an idiot like this guy. I've been running Windows 10 since it came out and never once HAD to shut down in the middle of something to install an update.
That said, you shouldn't switch from OSX for the same reason I won't switch TO osx.... change cost.
Even these days, switching to another ecosystem is still going to cost you weeks of time, so unless there's an incredibly compelling reason to switch, there's just no point.

Tesla Predicts a 2 Car Crash Ahead of Driver
https://www.tesla.com/blog/upgrading-autopilot-seeing-world-radar
even cooler, as of a recent update the Tesla can actually bounce radar underneath and around the car ahead to the one in front of it (albeit probably at a lower resolution)
"Taking this one step further, a Tesla will also be able to bounce the radar signal under a vehicle in front - using the radar pulse signature and photon time of flight to distinguish the signal - and still brake even when trailing a car that is opaque to both vision and radar."
I think the Tesla must've been watching the back-end of the SUV through the windows of the car behind and detected the distance between them was closing too quickly. And maybe it also took into account that the brake lights were firing.
In any case, freaking awesome safety technology. Wish I had it.
Butt Brake
An excellent idea for people who ride with their *pets, especially on hills.
An upgrade to this might be to make a flexible quick connection to the rear brake cable so it would just operate using the normal rear brake lever, although using your ass to stop is hilarious and fun.
I must admit, from the title, I expected something more like the flexigrip controls on Mr/s Garrison's 'IT'.
Big guns of the UEE - star citizen
You can start at the entry level stuff, for like $45. That gets you the game and a starter ship. You can start off with a $45 ship, upgrade it to a bigger ship progressively paying the difference. Start at $45, jump to a $90 ship then a $130 ship to a $170 ship and so on.
Most people do that for the lifetime insurance. (LTI). This way they carry the LTI to a better ship. One of the latest snub fighters, the 85x comes with an LTI at $50. SO i bought that and will put it towards a $140 ship i want, so ill only have to pay $90 for it plus i have a 10% off coupon. That ship only has a 6 month insurance, so upgrading the 85x to the other ship it will gain the LTI.
But yes, there are people out there who have practically every ship that has been on sale so far.

I think I'd be more interested in this game if you didn't have to pay real money for stuff. Like, retardedly HUGE sums of real money for stuff.
