Be sure you wash your hands thoroughly before putting them in your mouth, the poison can stay on them for a while, and does effect mammals. It would probably just make you sick, but why take chances.
I've raised Newts and Salamanders since I was little. I was really psyched when I moved to the Bay area from Texas and found them everywhere.

We have these near where I live. In March there's a place I go near Cool, Ca where there's tons - you can pick them up and they don't seem to mind.

Breaking Bad - Final Scene of Season 5 Episode 8

Deano says...

>> ^kymbos:

Spoiler alert
Am I the only one who is just a tad let down by this season? Breaking Bad is the best TV since Deadwood in my opinion, but previous series have had me constantly on the edge of my seat. This one, I'm just kind of watching play out. I mean, season 4 - come on. That was gripping.
The last two episodes where Walter just becomes the kingpin and makes piles of money just left me a little empty...

I'm impressed that they like to be different. Working for Fring and the eventual high stakes is actually the kind of plot which they could have ended the entire show with the implication that White takes over, completing his ascent (or descent if you like).

If they didn't take chances they would still be stuck in that RV and we might never have had a Fring.

Season [edit] 5 [/edit] was impressive because it was about getting back into the saddle and the writers engineering the plot developments logically from what went before. I've always loved that about the show and the way they still get to focus on these characters and also extract great acting performances. Jonathan Banks was outstanding. And Dean Norris' awkward face when Walter visited his office was priceless.

As for pure gripping tension I think Dead Freight delivered in spades.

I know what you mean by "empty". I suspect this is how Walter feels after all his accomplishments, most of which seem to be about staying below DEA radar. Could they have moved him to a new location and allow him to develop into a Fring-style respected businessman with a dark secret? But then that would be close to repetition.

Hero Cop Saves Suicidal Woman From Rooftop

ForgedReality says...

I like how they're like, "LEAPT from the rooftop... cops grabbed her IN MID-AIR..." Okay sensationalize it a bit more, would you? She was sitting down, trying to minimalize the damage, rather than straight up jumping which could actually cause death. She's a fucking attention whore and she wanted people to notice her and feel bad about her. Then the only reason she did ANYTHING was because the cop was right there and she knew she'd be caught. She fucking pussied out.

She sure as hell didn't make a real concerted effort. Probably the story of her life. It's a pattern in her loser life to never really follow through with anything. Fucking pussy. That's why she lost her job, and her boyfriend dumped her because she's a stupid lazy bitch who will never make anything of her life because she's afraid to take chances. Shoulda let her stupid ass jump. At least then she would have accomplished something! Hell, it could even have been seen as compassionate, because now she has to live out the rest of her pathetic ass life knowing she couldn't even follow through and kill herself right.

Dumb bitch.

Dagny Taggart Confronts the Union in Atlas Shrugged Part 1

enoch says...

atlas shrugged is one helluva pig of a book.
rand may be have been many things but it seems writer was not one of them.
this movie appears to follow in her inept footsteps.

her philosophy makes sense when you factor in the world she grew up in but i still find her philosophies bordering on sociopathy.
atlas shrugged tends to delve into the land of hyperbole far too much for my tastes.add to that the incredibly inept writing and reading that book becomes an exercise in stamina.
i do tend to agree with her stance that those who are willing to risk should reap the rewards..be they either good ..or bad but i tend to shy away when her philosophy takes that shrill note of "fuck you..i got mine".
go..
be productive.take chances..make all the money you desire.
but at what cost?
this is the question she never really addresses and is one of the main reasons i dismiss her philosophies.
they are entirely one dimensional and ignore so many factors as to be considered almost infantile in scope.

her entire philosophy can be broken down to one statement:
greed is good.
and i disagree with that statement.

PC Gamer Preview of Halloween Update to Minecraft

RFlagg says...

Lanterns will likely not make this update after all... well at least torch replacement won't as he is having issues with it... and I just made lots of torches to have them change to lanterns in case I didn't have the supplies to make lanterns.
Coming soon will be an in game menu to change texture packs so people don't need to use an external program or take chances with messing up their JAR file.
Should be out in a few hours.

Penn and Teller BullShit!-Bottled Water

inflatablevagina says...

I bought a special multi pure faucet to get drinking water from. I waiver back and forth on the bottled water debate. I have tasted shitty town water, lived with a well and now I have decent city water. I still prefer to use my filtered water faucet, but I dont really know if it makes a difference. I figure I would rather give that to my kid rather than taking chances. Also when you have a sink filter of some kind it doesn't do the negative things to the planetthat plastic bottles can do. (when not recycled)

Mythbusters -- are elephants actually afraid of mice?

bamdrew says...

Agree with Throb and Bicycle.

Needs a control where the just roll the shit around. Their eyesight isn't that great, but theres no way they missed that magical shit pile jump around in front of them.

Unless they have a compelling reason (food, territory, sex, etc.), smart animals tend to reflexively not take chances.

One Red Paper Clip

bamdrew says...

I would tend to agree, Memorare.

Except the lesson isn't repeat what I've done. Its set goals, work really hard, and success will follow, especially if you're committed and doing something you enjoy. And, importantly, don't be afraid to take chances.

Phoenix is supposed to be okay, I might have been tempted to stop there.
