How Two Astronomers Accidentally Discovered the Big Bang

shagen454 says...

I still think saying something like "the beginning of everything" is a little presumptuous for us recently technological monkeys to say. I feel like there is an awful amount of knowledge that we don't know or understand, yet. I love thinking about it though - kinda like that Sun Ra song - "There are other worlds (they have not told you of)" A Big Bang might just be a small aspect, that happens all the time all over a vast multiverse, outside multiverses, inside multiverses, folded into trillions of dimensions that exist as free flowing holographic data, that really just exists inside a super-technological golden egg, on the table of a very wise alien and your life was just you dreaming and then you wake up as the wise alien and you say "How the hell did I forget about this strange ass egg?!"

Such Hawks Such Hounds - "stoner" & heavy rock Documentary

shagen454 says...

My favorite 70's derived heavy album is from "Sounds of Animal Kingdom" by Brutal Truth from 1997. It was produced by Billy Anderson, you might not get that it's a 70's influenced album at first because it's noisy, it's grindy and it's fucking heavy. Smoke a lot of weed & relisten. It's a blend of rock, 70's rock, grind, doom, punk & noise. I always get the feeling that they had smoked shit tons of weed & watched a lot of old Japanese films. The engineer gave it a nice damp tape sound overall; not crisp & precise like most shitty heavy bands. They even do a Sun Ra cover.

Morgan Freeman On Black History Month

I don't know about you guys but I appreciate black people and culture. All of my favorite music was copped from a black man take for instance the original dub music which was called "Blue Beat" into the genius that is Lee "Scratch" Perry which was copped by every little white guy with a strat and suit to create shit-ska, or even much before that - Bukka White slapping his steel string guitar which was copped by many a mountain crooner - Can't forget the crazy zany and otherworldly Sun Ra Arkhestra of which many a neo-post-rock project wish and try to copulate; or how about the little-known noise/trance/congotronic Congolese group I rip off a lot named Konono No. 1? And I mean I didn't even begin to speak about Ethiopian music from the 60-70s (check out Ethiopiques or just try on Muhmoud Ahmed - f'n amazing).

But, outside of music even though there has been a black history month for a long ass time now kids just don't understand Dr. King! Listen to his damn speeches, oh young and flighty ones - he didn't just speak about his dreams he spoke about "RADICAL ECONOMIC RECONSTRUCTION"! As history repeats itself it is evident to remember to pay attention to your local black community; they know what is going on!

Sun Ra Arkestra: Pink Elephants on Parade

Hope some folks upvote this-aside from being one of the best Disney films of all time, Sun Ra Arkestra's tribute to the piece is priceless. Frank Churchill and Ned Washington won the Acadamy Award for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture, and the song "Baby Mine" was nominated for Best Song.
YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!
