Watch the Magic Pumpkin Kids....
No, this isn't a screamer, it's the Silver Shamrock commercial from the notoriously bad -and Michael Meyerless- Halloween III. The commercial was part of a dastardly plot to kill children, involving masks laden with fragments of rock from Stonehenge. Very stupid.
Stonehenge View
In ancient times, hundreds of years before the
dawn of history.
There lived a strange race of people...the Druids.
No one knows who they were, or what they were doing...
but their legacy remains...
hewn into the living rock of Stonehenge...
Stonehenge, where the demons dwell
Where the banshees live and they do live well
Stonehenge
Where a man is a man and the children dance to
the pipes of pan
Stonehenge
Tis a magic place where the moon doth rise
With a dragon's face
Stonehenge
Where the virgins lie
And the prayer of devils fill the midnight sky
And you my love, won't you take my hand
We'll go back in time to that mystic land
Where the dew drops cry and the cats meow
I will take you there
I will show you how

I don't know to what degree it's true, but I've read that a lot of Stonehenge had collapsed by the beginning of the 20th century, and it was reconstructed based on best guesses. So exactly where the moon and sun align with it seems a bit arbitrary to me. But don't tell the druids!

Thank you. I suppose it would have been more exciting, set to something like the Stonehenge song from Spinal Tap...

I am very fascinated by Stonehenge. I just wish that this video had been set to some music!

Excellent! I have updated the video with the new link (and cited your contribution in the description). Thanks for your exemplary sportsmanship. :-)

SPIFF! Your Live Earth Spinal Tap post is dead... sorry. And, damnit, you beat men to it!
So, here's a present for you! The entire set (stonehenge/big bottoms) from a new source. Cheers.

Eddie Izzard - On Stonehenge
Stonehenge is on my list of nemeses (it's a long list), so no vote I'm afraid.
An Autistic Woman "Speaks" Her Language, Then Ours
Having a long explanation does not make something geeky. Where did you get that definition? This can't be reduced to an explanation anyway; it's a call for understanding; a presentation of a philosophy of communication.
"Geek" is a term, usually a missive, reserved for people obsessed with things that are totally useless to the rest of the world (really dancing to DDR), obsessed with things that are mostly impractical to the rest of the world (building Stone Henge by yourself), or cool scientific stuff (http://www.videosift.com/video/Mythbusters-Breaking-Glass-With-Unaltered-Human-Voice">breaking glass with the human voice). These are geeky things. I can't think of anything less geeky than someone educating people on how to understand her.
Stonehenge sequence from This Is Spinal Tap
Upvote just because it's Spinal Tap...but the quality of the video is horrendous...and it wasn't even set-up right with Nigel drawing what he wanted the Stonehenge prop to look like on a napkin.
Eddie Izzard: Mongrel Nation (part 1 of 15)
I'm a history dork, so I can't help but correct him....
But, technically, he's wrong on his first point. The celts were not the first to settle England, there were Neolithic people's present long before the Celtic invasion... evidence of this is Stonehenge, one of England's most famous monuments. By the time of the Roman arrival, the Neolithic peoples had been almost completely marginalized, and were known as Picts, and had been almost totally wiped out or pushed up into the highlands of Scotland.
How One Man Could Build Stonehenge
Video still works for me (tried it twice)...His replica is impressive to be a one-man construction; but missed the whole point of Stonehenge (and it's predecessor) - his has no astronomical alignments etc. (or hippies!)
Viking Kittens Perform Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
wow - never knew the lyrics with such clarity before.
Have to say, I kind of liked the song better before I knew all the lyrics. It now reminds me a bit of "Stonehenge" by Spinal Tap.
