This guy does a better Skrillex than Skrillex

shagen454 says...

I dont think you guys get the joke. It wasnt about what game is cool and by the replies obviously, retro is cool... the sarcasm was about the ridiculousness of pro Starcraft games and also about the ridiculousness of post modern dub; maximalism. The similarities are quite apparent only this guy is microing sound.

Fuck Starcraft, can you imagine how awesome he would have been at Excitebike?

2011 Blizzcon Starcraft II Grand Final

I could see where this might be true. Both players play very cautiously like a dentist prodding teeth for cavities. But, that may be because of the amount of money on the line. Definitely not the best game I have seen but still immensely entertaining. I actually watched this twice all the way through.

The game was a huge let down, very sloppy play by Nestea. He seemed content to just sit back with maxed supply, barely putting any pressure on MVP. Nestea just sat there, mining out the right half of the map even though he had +10K minerals - all that wasted drone supply could've gone towards a larger army. When he finally decides to move out with his 100+ baneling army, after much indecision, does he drop MVP's mining expansions? - No. Does he drop MVP's production facilities? - No. Does he try to take out MVP's army? No - he does a terribly executed drop in MVP's mined out main, accomplishing NOTHING. And in the end, Nestea decides to make a max army of unsupported broodlords even though he KNOWS that MVP has ghosts and vikings.
This had all the features of a showmatch between two good friends and teammates, which has many people in the community suggesting that the game was fixed. Pretty much the worst game of Blizzcon, and one of the worst tournament finales I've ever seen.

How Good are You at Multi-tasking?

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Preview Trailer

shagen454 says...

Yeah, Starcraft Two is so fantastic that if I get home and its not too late to play Starcraft Two and Im stoned, Ill either watch replays or watch Starky which both can be amazingly entertaining. But for some reason Starcraft Two is one of those games I find impossible to play stoned. The amount of brutality involved in a multiplayer game really requires intense attention to detail for ten, fifteen, thirty... sometimes sixty minutes. Its a mindfuck too... because when Im stoned the game feels faster and I feel like Im playing slow.

So I was definitely surprised when I beat a silver while I was stoned and so I asked them Are You Stoned? Haha. Its a funny replay.

Can't emphasize how much the storyline is ignored amongst the hardcore starcraft community. The game itself is the best all-encompassing competitive game I've ever played on a computer.

Husky+Day9 present an Epically ending Starcraft 2 - Match

Ahhh, what a mannerbear.
I do think if he'd killed off some his supply and got a couple of Corrupters out he would have been in with a chance. The endgame chess analogy is good, but I also imagine it like you can't see their pieces unless they are in an adjacent square .

He had only 100 gas left, and I'm not sure when his spire went down. Frustrating to watch as a zerg player.
