Girl YEAH RIGHT! (2003) - Full film (Google video version)

bamdrew says...

wtf? this is not a public domain movie in any way. one of the directors is Spike Jonze, and it has Owen Wilson in it for craps sake! the first 10 seconds are an even an add for a video piracy channel on Efnet!

but anyways, they intent to make money on these, not just put them out for promotion. its a serious revenue generator, and although their market is now skater kids with internet connections that doesn't mean this is a freely available, public domain film.

... i think i'll just let it sit and die, and not bother anybody about it... but only because i'm lazy

Super slo-mo, explosions and skateboarding.

Beastie Boys - ' Sabotage '

I am absolutely stunned that this wasn't already on the sift. What the fuck's going on?!
Reasons why I assumed it would've been...

1. Spike Jonze
2. Beastie Boys
3. Monumental song
4. Fucking brilliant video.
5. Fake Moustaches

This deserves Top 15 status. Without a doubt.

(I am also stunned, but not really, that this got a downvote. Ant - How many of the above points do you disagree with?)

Weezer - El Scorcho

dotdude says...

This is a Mark Romanek music video. It is one of the music videos featured on “The Work of Director Mark Romanek” DVD.

What’s different about this video from the other Mark Romanek music videos is that Weezer and Romanek fought during the shoot. In all the other interviews on the DVD, bands gushed about what great friends they’d become with Romanek. Many of them put their trust in his vision and were very happy with the results.

Also, interesting is the little joke Romanek threw in: a florescent sign “weerez”, instead of “weezer.” The band later ended up doing t-shirts with the misspelling.

You have seen many of Romanek music videos. Wikipedia has a thorough list.

Not only is this song (and video) great, but the entire "mini documentary" that accompanies it is priceless — you can get the whole shebang (as well as a crapload of Spike Jonze other fan-fucking-tastic videos) on the DVD "The Work of Director Spike Jonze."
