Real Climate Scientist Demolishes Global Warming Alarmism
Who is Roy Spencer and what does he think. This stuff seems relevant if you're going to take the time to listen to him at all.

From Spencer Ackerman's article on the torture report:
Rectal rehydration you say...
Edit: Hah, it gets better. Here's Oliver Laughland's piece on rectal rehydration and feeding.
Bottoms up, gents! Time for dinner.
Princeton Prof Comes to Alarmin Conclusion on Climate Change
Yeah, this guy was debunked 3 years ago.
Put very simply, his expertise is not in climate science and he's wrong.
Most importantly, you'll note that his preferred method of communication about climate science is through an op-ed, not through a peer-reviewed paper.
But hey, any excuse to continue fucking up the planet, right?
Bruce Lipton on Darwinian Evolution
The methylation turns off genes, so it alters the development of the embryo without altering the actual DNA.
A lot of things which are now called darwinism should probably be more properly called "Spencerism" since they derive from Spencer's "survival of the fittest" and not Darwin (or, perhaps, from Alfred, Lord Tennyson's In Memoriam A.H.H. - Nature, red in tooth and claw).
I'm not arguing against Darwin, he was a careful and methodical researcher who did good work. It could easily have been called Wallaceism though, had things gone even slightly differently
Those are some weird results that shouldn’t really be possible, since the female is born with the eggs and thus the genetic material for the future offspring is already set when the mother is born. But nature is full of surprises.
But the other thing that separates Darwin from Lamarck, and even Wallace, was how much he really got completely right about evolution. Common decent, gradualism and the fact that evolution happens as a change in populations are all , in addition to natural selection, things that Darwin got spot on , and this was before we had even discovered genes. These insights is why we call it Darwinism, and not Wallaceism

Joe Scarborough finally gets it -- Sandy Hook brings it home
@drk421 You've been duped. That study isn't from Harvard.
It's from a student newsletter entitled. "Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy"
ABOUT HARVARD JLPP
The Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy is published three times annually by the Harvard Society for Law & Public Policy, Inc., an organization of Harvard Law School students.
The Journal is one of the most widely circulated student-edited law reviews and the nation’s leading forum for conservative and libertarian legal scholarship.
The late Stephen Eberhard and former Senator and Secretary of Energy E. Spencer Abraham founded the journal twenty-eight years ago and many journal alumni have risen to prominent legal positions in the government and at the nation’s top law firms.
Sledge Hammer is on YouTube (80s Talk Post)
I'd actually rather have the DVDs and give Allan Spencer some dosh. He seems like a cool guy.
Also they come with a cool "Confidential Report" insert which is quite funny.
i just downloaded all episodes via torrent.

10 Accidental Inventions
... But they actually forgot to mention Post-its. 3M was trying to create a glue, but it didn't work. It WAS a complete accident that they created post-its because that glue was supposed to stick - and it doesn't - which gave them the idea to market it as Post-Its.
"In 1968, Dr. Spencer Silver, a chemist at 3M in the United States, was attempting to develop a super-strong adhesive, but instead he accidentally created a "low-tack", reusable, pressure-sensitive adhesive." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-it_note

Never, Ever Give Up. Arthur's Inspirational Transformation!
I'm pretty cynical myself, but what is inspiring is not that this guy did this but that he didn't give up. Screw you all when the best you can come up with is that you didn't like the song. So? What the hell does that have to do with someone's ability to overcome their own perceived limitations?
"Argue for your limitations and sure enough they're yours" - Richard Bach (flaky yes, but well thought and spoken.)
"“There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation” - Herbert Spencer.
