I have a soy milk update too, it was a huge success

Only one of the shorter crowd likes it, but not because there was anything wrong with it, it tasted just like the store bought version. The leftovers are called Okara in Japan, and I used some to bake light and fluffy cupcakes That was an unexpected bonus, I only learned about okara after buying soy beans.

Thanks

I did end up buying something fun yesterday... some soy beans to make soy milk and maybe tofu... now if only I'd remembered to soak them last night... going to have to wait until we get back from the sticks again now.

Sweet! I copied the embed code from that, and it seems to work!!
Thank you so much for your help!

Is this the original video?
http://www.buzzfeed.com/copyranter/silk-soy-milks-disgusting-ad-updated

In reply to this comment by seltar:
That is absolutely correct :

#2 was a spoofed ad with the Silk logo, sapia coloring, timeshift, different music, and some text.
#1 is the original source used for the spoof video.

#2 was dead at the time, so they just assumed, based on the thumbnail or not seeing the other video.

Thank you so much for your help! :

In reply to this comment by lucky760:
So, this video should be restored because it's correct:
#1 - http://videosift.com/video/Milk-in-her-face?noredirect

And this video should be *dead because the actual embed is unavailable and it was incorrectly given the above video's embed:
#2 - http://videosift.com/video/Strangely-erotic-milk-ad

Is all that correct? Let me know and if so, I'll undo the dupeof on #1 and I'll make dead #2.

Also, was #2 very obviously a different video than #1? In other words, was it an egregious and obvious error that those two members falsely agreed it was a dupe? Or was #2 just dead at the time, so they were just guessing it was a dupe?

In reply to this comment by seltar:
This might be the wrong place to ask this, but how can I undupe a video?

http://videosift.com/video/Strangely-erotic-milk-ad

That link was to a spoof ad, whilst the version that was wrongly duped was the original source.
The original source was all I could find after the spoof ad died, and it was quite different to the spoof ad - different music and no text, overlays, logos or branding.
So I decided to sift it separately, hoping that one day the spoof ad would resurface.

Is this something that should be handled in a Sift talk, or what?

Thanks for you input.

Old Fashioned Pancake Recipe

holy extraovercomplicatedness batman!

1 egg
1 cup self raising flour
1 cup milk - (just add a little more if you want them thinner)
turn em when they bubble, butter em as you stack em, sweeten em as you eat em.
my 6 year makes them for us on the weekend.

as reggie watts says "why shit so crazy?"

i hope i'm not disrespecting americans knowledge of all things pancake. after all they did come up with the microwaveable jimmy dean pancake and sausage on a stick. sausage wrapped in pancake. microwaveable. with choc chips. on a stick. and microwaveable.

My tried-and-tested pancake recipe:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-2 tablespoons brown sugar (depending on desired sweetness)
1 tablespoon of maple syrup
1 3/4 cups milk (I use Vanilla-flavored soy milk)
1 egg
2 tablespoons light olive oil
1 tsp each of nutmeg and cinnamon
Mix dry and wet ingredients seperately, then whisk together until lump-free, let stand until thickened, and then cook on medium heat. After about 30 seconds in the pan I add some sort of fruit combination into the pancake including blueberry, raspberry, pineapple, strawberry, apple, etc. I then cover the fruit with some more batter. Blueberry & pineapple is an especially delicious combo. Cook until golden on each side, then top with maple syrup or whipped cream (or both).

Yeah, it takes a while for the blender to reduce the frozen bananas to that creamy consistency. It takes a while and you think it's not working, but it only takes a bit of time. Adding a few drops of water tends to speed it up, but I'm sure soy milk is just as good if not better.

Keep me posted on whatever other delicious combos you discover using other food items with the banana.

In reply to this comment by JiggaJonson:
Well yeah initially I tried just the bananas but it sounded like i was trying to chop up rocks in my blender so (as was my experience with hummus) I found adding a little thin liquid helped a lot to keep things churning.

No, I didn't end up adding the honey and don't expect I will (bananas are pretty sweet already). I am going to try the salt idea next time I make it though b/c salt really can make flavors PoP! :-D I'm sure I will try some different fruit combination soon using the bananas as a base to see what works best. I'll keep you posted! Thanks again!

Also FYI my wife and I are trying to shed some extra fat that we both gained from becoming teachers at the same time (school lunches = unhealthy)(really that was the only thing in our diet that changed)(fuck) annnnd as I was looking up the nutrition info, I roughly figured that you could eat this "ice cream" at about 1/3 the calorie cost of regular chocolate (for example) ice cream. I think, though, that the honey would even that ratio out fairly quickly.

It's awesome, I know. I'm glad you tried it and loved it. Did you add a little sea salt and honey? DFT tried it and said it was some kind of "sorcery". Delicious. I like the soy milk idea. Adding peanut butter is supposed to also be good.

Tried the banana ice cream and loved it. I used bananas and a bit of soy milk to make blending it frozen easier.

My wife and I have a new favorite treat! Thanks!
