High Heeled Shoe Car

Crackpot Ideas (Blog Entry by dag)

Inspired post.
Crackpot ideas come from many a bottle. Take Gurdjieff's thick-ass tome, "Beelzebub's Tales to his Grandson" The prologue describes the setting in which he penned this epic-he had a nice little spot in the corner of a wine cellar. His bev of choice was Armagnac,(brandy) a French region and the oldest to distill-some cardinal back in the 12th century, had this extolation about this spirit's, many virtues...
"It makes disappear redness and burning of the eyes, and stops them from tearing; it cures hepatitis, sober consumption adhering. It cures gout, cankers and fistula by ingestion, restores the paralysed member by massage and heals wounds of the skin by application. It enlivens the spirit, partaken in moderation, recalls the past to memory, renders men joyous, preserves youth and retards senility. And when retained in the mouth, it loosens the tongue and emboldens the wit, if someone timid from time to time himself permits."-(wiki)

I like this new wino dag. Now yer an Okie, will wonders never cease?

You have China to thank for those cheap-ass slippery shoelaces, and everyone knows dinosaurs were hollow.

Hey! I'm from Oklahoma, Dag! I had no idea you had roots there, even if they are from way back when.

Translation? He basically said you're old.

Your question isn't as crackpot as you think. Well, the shoelace one is pretty crackpot, but not the "Why are dinosaurs so big" question. It seems someone else had the same question as you. I like the possible explanation of more oxygen in the atmosphere back then than there is now. That's an interesting theory.

Rodney Mullen on live tv...Damn he's good

Oh my does this take me back to the days...

I remember trying those moves on a cheap supermarket deck with a fiery snake on the bottom (and failing miserably of course). Moved on to a Claus Grabke and then a Nolan Ryan deck. Still without a nosetail back then and all with the ever so fashionable fish shape...

My favourite movie of the time was "Gleaming the Cube" (called "Gleaming Heart" in Germany) and I had neon shoelaces in my LA Gear shoes. Rodney did a double for Christian Slater in that film which can be found here.

This inspired me to post the opening scene of Gleaming the cube featuring a very young Christian Slater and Tony Hawk.

The Truth Behind 9/11

*perpetual downvote

The question always come back to:
What about how this administration has handled ANYTHING - Katrina, Iraq, etc. - would leave anyone to believe they're capable of tying their own shoelaces, much less an impossibly vast conspiracy?

your reasoning astounds me!!! you're happy to sit back with an administration that is completely incompetent?!?! (by your own admission)

if one of your co-workers was so incompetent in his position, would you be the first to stick up for him and say, "leave him alone, he can't even tie his own shoelaces!" doubtful, as that behavior is just not tolerated in the workforce ... yet, we sit back and accept it from our government.

to excuse this administration and hold them inculpable allows them to continue to paint all americans with the same brush of ignorance ... it's repulsive.

"Question #1 for 9/11 Conspiracy Nuts:
What about anything the Bush administration has done the last 6 years gives you the idea that they're competent enough to tie their own shoelaces, much less pull off a grand conspiracy? "

Amen, Theo. Given all the leaks this administration can't seem to plug, it's just not possible to have covered such a terrible deed up. Unless of course, Bush is actually a master manipulator on the level of comic book super villains.
