Media Clash: Sigue Sigue Sputnik
On two prior sifts, I've posted my Tony James story so I won't do it again. But I too was a big fan of SSS and Gen X and Billy Idol and Sex Pistols and The Clash and PiL and B.A.D.

Carbon/Silicone? ...eh, not so much: the music doesn't really grab me...but never mind.
Italian music producer and composer Giorgio Moroder, who stole the Oscar away from John Williams in 1979 for the score to Midnight Express, produced SSS's debut record Flaunt It in 1986 and it's one of the best-sounding bad records of all time. He also won two more Oscars: one for the title song to Flashdance and once again a couple years later for the song Take My Breath Away from the homo-erotic movie Top Gun.
Moroder, who was a synthesizer pioneer in the 70s, was the man responsible for the SSS sound, although Tony James would surely disagree.
Matthew Good band- Giant - Fantastic Song
When I was 16, I discovered Sex Pistols and Public Image Limited: now THERE'S a band that required some adventure. PiL, I mean. Sex Pistols, not as much. Fuck it, I'll toss you a vote.

Creationists Take Mother Goose Hostage
I like the Sex Pistols version better:
It was on the good ship Venus
By Christ, ya shoulda seen us
The figurehead was a whore in bed
And the mast, a mammoth penis
The captain of this lugger
He was a dirty bugger
He wasn't fit to shovel shit
From one place to another
And so on and so forth.
Britains Biggest Gig-aholic (British Talk Post)
So reading his top 10 list...
1. Sex Pistols
2. The Clash
3. Kiss
4. AC/DC
5. U2
6. David Bowie
7. The Rolling Stones
8. The Who
9. Thin Lizzy
10. Van Halen
That's alarmingly unimaginative considering he's been to so many concerts. You'd think there'd be some nobodies in there that just threw an awesome show.
ray of gob (madonna + the sex pistols)

John Lydon (Sex Pistols) tells R&R Hall of Fame to Kiss This
I never grew up with the Sex Pistols, I was generally a Zeppelin and Zappa kid, but the words that come from this guys mouth are sweet nuggets of truthy goodness and pure music to my ears.
What a guy
R.I.P Dan Fogelberg: Same Old Lang Syne
In my cynical youth, I tried to ignore this song and focus on my heroes--The Clash, The Sex Pistols etc--bands talking about important things to me at the time. But I always listened to this song and really liked it. I didn't admit it to my friends in torn shirts, so I'm doing it now. I like this song darnit! And that's all right. This version is a bit overwrought, but hey, it's almost Christmas. RIP.
The late Tom Snyder takes on John Lydon of P.I.L.
I think Johnny Rotten and the Sex Pistols would have had more impact if they had actual intelligence and thought behind their swagger. Ah well, I guess there's always a place for people who just want to be annoying and "anti-establishment" just for the sake of it.
Never got the deal behind Sid Vicious worship either (he wasn't even a good bass player).
The late Tom Snyder takes on John Lydon of P.I.L.
I was a New Waver in the early 80's, but when it came to the Sex Pistols, I never liked them. They were pretty abusive and pretty much deserved a good slapping.
The late Tom Snyder takes on John Lydon of P.I.L.
Remember this one, poor Tom, he faced quite the non-linear onslaught, and started to nut......! Lived in Dallas when the Sex Pistols came...they made the front page of the Times Herald, their arrest for lewd behavior, public intox, spitting on fans....then came the 80's, and the U.S. Punk scene....fueled by the fast-burning flame of doom, Sid Vicious, and Texas was a big part of it, since they left such a mark.....

Hillary Clinton's "Sopranos" Ending (2008 Campaign)
Ok here's a fun game, guess which song she chose, choggie says, "Submission", by the Sex Pistols...
The Truth About Muhammad
This guy Robert Spencer, who clearly isn't a great public explicator, couldn't have chosen a worse way to exercise his meager talents. I hope that the Sex Pistols spit on him in Hell.
