Actually, the Rocket Jump was originally a happy accident in the Quake physics engine, and it stuck.

I used to listen to 'When Disaster Strikes' constantly when playing Quake 1 online. Good times. There was much rocket jumping when this song came around.

The video is a Hype Williams joint, you can tell by the excessive use of Fish lenses. It's utterly hilarious. Especially when Sho'Nuff comes on.

Yep. I don't think I've looked forward to a game this much in quite some time. I only hope they put as much time and effort into playability/balance/etc. As for the angle: in a game where you can rocket jump, goofy cartoon ridiculousness definitely fits imho.
