Quake Champions Quakecon 2016 Gameplay

A lot of those maps looked really familiar.

It's funny how many clips they showed of rocket jumps. I'm guessing someone worked a long time to get that mechanic working like they wanted.

Quake: Champions

There is supposed to be more info released in August at QuakeCon. I have been lurking in the Quakelive dev channel for a couple of years now, that team has also been working on this. It's being developed with Saber Interactive(providing the engine). I believe since the new Doom engine doesn't support strafe jumping or rocket jumping.

Cell-Official Trailer - Samuel L. Jackson, John Cusack Movie

The book is actually pretty good. This looks like just a poor Sharknado style take on the book... and the screenplay is written by King himself... which may be the problem. The plane crash effects look like what I'd expect from one of the YouTube special effect houses like Rocket Jump or Corridor Digital than a movie with an actual budget.

Contextual kills usually mean that the engine is going to feel clunky and heavy, the wading-through-treacle effect. I really miss the days of fast, flowing FPS games that had huge individual skill ceilings involving all things like aim, dodging, rocket jumping, bunnyhopping and other clever manipulations of the engine.

That's what i think of when i get nostalgic for old FPS games like doom and quake and (later) half life 1.

Team Fortress 2 (TF2) - Did You Know Gaming?

@Payback

I pretty much think it's the perfect casual FPS.

Similar to how nades aren't abusive, I think it's one of the few shooters where snipers are not blatantly overpowered. Most characters need several body shots to kill and some need several headshots when Medic buffed.

The class variety is also tremendous, and there's a significant skill ceiling to playing most characters beyond the usual FPS reactions. Knowing how to decloak and approach as spy, or perfecting rocket jumping is something way beyond what most modern shooters like CoD require.

Hats have never really bothered me. What has slightly is that it's become impossible to get access to most weapons without paying because of the sheer quantity.

Having said that, this really only kicks when you have 60-70% and the odds stack against you of finding the rest. It's not really a balance issue either as while there are definitely 'optimal' choices (say gunboats for soldier), none are anywhere near game breaking. Where they are (say, soldier's equalizer), they're usually rebalanced.

Of course it is fake. It is the guy that does all those super awesome videos such as rocket jumping and the various gun fight. He is demoing his special effect skills and the fact that you are all discussing fake or not is a testament to how good he is. Here are some of his:
