Squadron of Canadair CL-415 fighting fire in high winds
Intense.
Some of those drops were maybe 75-100 yards upwind of the target and still drifted past the fire. In America, I think they cancel fire planes in high winds like these.
That long shot of the fire closing in on the radio shack looked like a pyroclastic flow, not a wildfire. Scary stuff.

GREENLAND Trailer (2020)
hahaha trash! To be fair it's not as bad as surviving a pyroclastic flow.
"Wow", Understatment of the Century. Wait for it.
It that had been pyroclastic flow...no one would have ever seen this masterpiece of understatement
blah blah blah... wow...... ..... gotta go!
Caught by a pyroclastic flow
seems more like just the rolling ash cloud than a pyroclastic flow
Caught by a pyroclastic flow
whoa, that's terrifying. I still get chills when I remember the Unzen pyroclastic flow video, so it's very surprising to see that the flow (I guess mostly ash?) that hit them was not deadly at that point.

Caught by a pyroclastic flow
I always though pyroclastic flows were super heated. Had no idea they were survivable.
Montserrat Volcano - Excellent Video of Pyroclastic Flow
Is that a Pyroclastic Flow, or are you just excited to see me?!
Volcano footage, AWESOME
Great computer animation on those pictures, but at those flows are not lahars. They are pyroclastic flows.
*edit
It appears the creator of the video has corrected his mistake.

Kilauea volcano erupts
pretty sure i read somewhere that it's not normally the lava that kills, it's the gasses and pyroclastic flows
still got some major balls though
9/11 Revisited: Who're the lunatics now?
dag, you're right - even 'level-headed' people seem to need to exaggerate and sensationalise when it comes to 9/11, and too often it stops people having mature discussion. Not here though, I'm pleased to say (with the exception of theo47...)
There's some interesting observations in this film, besides e.g. the physics of pyroclastic flow and doubts about the pancake theory (which probably goes over most of our heads, so we end up having to choose an authority to appeal to), such as that the designers of the towers believed it could withstand multiple strikes from a 707 with ease, and that the core was explicitly designed to prevent fire spreading.
