Lady Arrested After Letting her Pitbulls Loose on Reporter
Mental health issues.
I hate seeing the pitbulls get such a bad rap, I have a pit/golden retriever mix and I've known close to 10 pitbulls. ALL were loving, caring, gentle and friendly with other people and dogs. While there are many breeds that stem from fighting dogs including the pitbull. It's not the breed, it's the owners.
We have a ban in my city so my pit mix is labeled as a golden mix everywhere we go (vets idea)
Pitbull Really Wants That Stick
Nothing about this video says it's in Russia...Snow and pitbulls in sweaters exist elsewhere too.
Puppy Determined To Get On Treadmill
"In the wrong hands they are lethal and [...]", A10anis.
"If the problem is caused by the dog being in the wrong hands, [...]", Stormsinger.
"If the gun is taken care of, and used properly, it won't suddenly take off and kill a seeing eye dog any more than a properly cared for pitbull.", Payback.
"Pit's can be as vicious or as gentle as you make them.", Asmo.
Are any preventive action possible? Maybe people with criminal record or mental issues shouldn't be allowed to have those dogs?
Puppy Determined To Get On Treadmill
First off, the treadmill is healthy for the dog, and burns off energy, making the easier to control let alone giving him "something to do". Some people just don't have the time to exercise their dog for the hour or so every day like every dog NEEDS to, no matter what the breed. You have 7 acres of squirrels? Good for you! There's a lot of people who live in condos and apartments where taking the dog for a walk is more dangerous to this dog AND handler than this pit probably is to anyone else.
Your statistics aren't complete...
There are more "vicious" attacks on people by Shepherds worldwide then there are actual pitbull dogs. THAT'S a statistic too.
Dogs can be looked at like guns.
Chihuahua = Ether gas BB gun
Jack Russell = .22 target pistol
Shepherd = .308 bolt action hunting rifle
Pitbull - AK47
If the gun is taken care of, and used properly, it won't suddenly take off and kill a seeing eye dog any more than a properly cared for pitbull.
Is the owner lazy or does he/she just want to build up the muscles on an already intimidating fighting dog. ALL fighting dog breeds should be banned. And before you say; "It's the owner who makes them vicious, they are really cuddly, cute and so friendly," look at the figures on attacks by these breeds on adults/kids/dogs. Look at all the sickening videos. The latest statistic is the number of seeing eye dogs being attacked. There are 5 of these dogs in my area and ALL are a problem to people and other dogs. Their owners want them for the wrong reasons, reasons that are obvious. Of course any dog can be made violent, but these breeds have innate aggression, unpredictability, terrific strength and sheer tenacity. In the wrong hands they are lethal and, be honest, it is usually the wrong hands who own them. I have had three German Shepherds and currently have a Tamaskan (mighty Wolf) so please don't tell me I am anti-dog.

Dog : Not without my stick
Buddy's pitbull got stuck like this. Bit down harder and snapped the stick in two then brought both pieces through the doorway.
I respect that dog.

Kemah Likes to Hang Out
Firstly, looks as if from the description that the animal was owned by someone who like many dog owners in general, regardless of breed, fail to consider before taking on the responsibility of pet ownership; Before taking on the care and control of a breed as predictable as a pit bull they might have looked to the future when the dog was an adult what they were in for. Most people make emotional decisions when choosing a pet. Oh~Quite certain that it is illegal to own a Pit or Rottweiler in the city limits of Denver.
Most insurance companies require a special rider for owners of certain breeds as well-the rates are higher. That this choggie took on the responsibility would suggest that instead of having the animal abused by another idiot owner (notice The blame be directed NOT at the canine?) instead it be humanly cared-for and exercised, in a fenced yard. The dog also looks well-fed (no collar though).
Regardless of the situation, I hear the above argument many times, usually evoking some tragic situation where some ghetto-raised Pitbull has mauled someone. Again, who is to blame, the careless owner or do you simply solve the problem by eliminating the breed? I tend to agree with the breeders: Eliminate the idiot factor~Humans too ignorant to have the dog.
Bottom line is either educate the idiots who own animals without a frikkin' license to do so, or butch-up: The world is an hazardous place and the #1 animals that make it so are the

How is this ban worthy?
How can you ask that question after seeing all this when you submitted the video?
Doggy didn't like its haircut
My town has an ordinance against pitbulls, rotweillers, and chows, if caught there is a fine and the dog is picked up by animal control and destroyed.

This is cute, but I don't think I would ever let my children around a pit, nor another dog of mine. A cat though? Sure
Depends on the dog. I agree on every real guarding-dog, which has to rely on its defensive- and pack-instincts. But there are family-dogs which go very well with kids.
A year ago we had a family reunion and my cousines and my brother brought their toddlers and our dog, a labrador-retriever, was the ultimate trampoline for them. She endured around 10 very loud children - unattended - without any problems. They were grabbing her nose, her teeth, played with her ears and all she did, was lie there and sigh a bit. After two hours or so she got tired of that, dropped a growl and escaped the madness.
I would even entrust my hamburgerz to this dog!

Yeah, cute right up until the last shot... might be the mystique of the Pitbull... but I TOTALLY was deciphering that look as, "Mess with my kitten and I will fuck your. shit. right. up. bitch."
Also, anyone else thinking Pitbull/Boxer cross? Head around the eyes doesn't seem to have that flat, jaws-with-ears look most Pitbulls do.
Yea my first thought was that it wasn't a Pitbull, I was thinking boxer too. Then I was like "yea it's a boxer...no wait a minute, it's a pitbull....no a boxer..."
