Inside of an F4 tornado

Hoverboard On The Street

spawnflagger says...

video is so fake.
why? physics.
(to take off and accelerate from a red light that fast, he'd need a much steeper forward angle, and the "pilot" would have to lean hard and bend his knees to even possibly keep balance, not nonchalantly stand vertical like it shows)

Childish Gambino - This Is America

Sagemind says...

I'm greatly disturbed by the first execution sequence.
Why is it there, and what significance does it play in this video?
It's no nonchalant and unimportant like it's just another dance step which in turn makes it all the more gruesome.

A life is lost for no apparent reason, and as we dance and sing our way through the video, no one looks back to even care that this soul was lost.

Then in the second sequence, the choir is executed...(?) Why?

There is a major statement being made here, but what is it?
His smiles and dancing seem like there is no care in the world until the very end when he's running - and we never get to find out why or who he's running from....

Amazing Subway Performer Mike Yung - A Change Is Gonna Come

NirnRoot says...

I like the guy in the background, desperately trying to maintain the New York air of nonchalance even as his toe starts tapping to the music.

British Pathé - Women Racing Drivers

Fantomas says...

Remarkable how nonchalant the narrator seemed about Roberta Cowell's gender reassignment. Is all the media and political attention sex changes of public figures a modern phenomenon?

Elephant herd attacks motorbike in Thailand

MilkmanDan says...

I didn't see the "praying" in the rolling video, but the stills that look like that make me pretty sure that he's actually doing a Thai "wai": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thai_greeting

As that link mentions, the wai can be used for greeting / thank you / sorry depending on the situation. The still looks exactly like the kind of posture I'd expect in a "sorry" wai -- so I bet that he was treating the elephant in an anthropomorphic way and apologizing to it.

One more interesting but maybe less relevant piece of information about wais -- the height of where you put your "praying hands" along your chest/head is used to denote rank / class differences or add extra deference. So thumbs at sternum is used for equal rank / age, thumbs at chin/mouth for bosses or elders, and thumbs at nose for monks. If you really fuck something up and want to apologize profusely you can wai with thumbs on your forehead.

...So, although I think the guy was doing an "apologetic wai" to the elephant, his thumbs were at sternum level, which suggests that he's treating the elephant as an equal and has a certain degree of nonchalance.

I think I see what happened...he got between the large matriarch and the 'baby'. He's really lucky they stopped where they did.
I love his reaction...praying for forgiveness from the elephants. Strangely, it seemed to work.

Santa Ana Cops Behaving Badly

radx says...

Help an ignorant European brother out, will you...

This shop operated without a business permit. Would the appropriate procedure not be:
- official delivers notification that shop will be closed down if operator doesn't acquire permit within a week
- official returns after week if owner failed to acquire and present permit, cites owner for operating without a permit and gives another 48h deadline
- official returns after 48h and, if the owner still cannot produce a permit, notification is given that shop will be closed down
- police calmly evacuate the building, take photographic evidence of current state, close shop until end of legal proceedings

Instead, what I saw on the video might pass as an instructional video for the ‛Ndrangheta but not for a police force in a civilized country. These people strike me as unfit for duty and the brazen nonchalance with which they consumed the drugs themselves in front of other officers might be a reasonable argument to put the entire department under investigation.

Wow. That is some SERIOUS harassment.

And yes. Having drugs slipped into a drink is DEFINITELY harassment.

I'm quite proud of your nonchalance over the gay man stuff. You are definitely secure in your sexuality. I have never understood why some men feel violent in response to being even mildly flirted with. As is pointed out many times, women have learned to say no without flipping out, what is these guy's problem.

You, my friend, do not have a problem. You are indeed a cool dude.

And I'm sorry you were chased on the street and drugged. That is shitty.

In the past the most sexual harassment has come from gay men and usually verbally. They are kinky bastards, The most recent episode came from a dude following me down a city block from the train that asked if he could "suck my dick". And I sort of giggled, and was like "nah man". And we had a conversation about it further and I told him, "It's cool, man... I'm just not really into it". He was INSULTED and walked away.

I had also been taken advantage of by a girl who put drugs into my hard liquor. Technically, in my opinion, I think it was a sort of assault because, honestly, I just had no idea what was going on, but, I am cool with it and just left it at that.

There are more instances - but I mean these days I live one train stop to San Fran but not in SF - that is like a suburb in the city and I am cool... I've put it all in perspective and appreciate living just a jump from "The Shit".

I know my friend is strong but yet she does not put up with bullshit. She is also batshit insane as well but in a good way. She approaches life as art every single day. She is a true being and a true woman. We throw around the concept of having a relationship and honestly, I DO love her. When we say goodbye as we have over the last decade she will say "I love you"... I told her how much I love her once but when we part... I just smile. She knows I love her. If the topic is raised I always say to her... it's just not in the cards

Most Shocking Second a Day Video

Well artician, until people get a clue as to the hows and whos behind conflict eruption, famines, etc., the ride won't stop but will most certainly escalate.

Economic market manipulation with the goal of consolidating complete control of humanity is the goal, destroy the perpetrators of the ruse and this game ends and a new one begins.

*Notice the headline on dad's paper, as he sits non-nonchalantly reading about the government declaring martial law...Same shit the media constantly preps the U.S. for.

You really want to save the children you have to teach them to recognize complete truths as opposed to manipulative fabrication.

WORLD ORDER "Welcome to TOKYO"

shatterdrose says...

@pumpkinandstorm you always find the most interesting videos.

It's such a weird look into their culture when looking from the outside. Everyone with a camera it seems, the mens wearing funny looking hats and short shorts, tight ones too, the absolute nonchalance about people street performing and the fun people have in watching. I imagine of course they've cut out all the photo bombs we come to expect from something out of the US, but it's still pretty interesting to watch.

Not to mention, holy hell that's a lot of practice to get it that perfect. Their timing, to my untrained eye, seemed perfect and totally mesmerizing.

But is this a viral commercial for the olympics? Trying to one up Marry Poppin's and the attack of Lincoln look-alikes?
