Honest Dark Knight Rises Trailer
I'll field this. Dark Knight rises came on the tails of the two best comic book movies for one of the best comic book characters ever made. Batman Begins was amazing when you compare it to Batman movies of old and then Dark Knight was probably the greatest action movie ever made, it was incredible.
The bar was raised super high, and people had a problem with the last movie. I think it honestly wasn't tight enough...Dark Knight is tight as a drum, Rises simply isn't. It meanders, it's just unbelievable at times, it doesn't handle some of it's new characters well at all. Although there's moments in that movie that are great, I feel it's second half really failed.
What I can see is there was simply too much they wanted to do...so guess what cut it into two movies. One is Dark Knight Falls and then Dark Knight Rises. I would've loved it, hell Hobbit is suddenly 3 movies so don't tell me Nolan couldn't make this stuff into two, it would've ROCKED.
!SPOILERS!
The ending wasn't handled well either but the argument to change it is weird too. Some people say Alfred should see Batman and Catwoman and just smile, and we never see them. To me if Nolan did that it would've been hacky and exactly the same as the ending to Inception.
As a whole, this trilogy is better than the original Star Wars Trilogy, based on story and characters alone. It's MUCH better you don't know anything if you disagree. Also just like Return of the Jedi is a disappointment (More Ewoks MUST DIE!) so is Rises, yet I'll still watch it.
I'm really not sure what it is about this movie that inspires such pedantic nitpickery. Any big blockbuster can be nitpicked to death if you really want to. There are just as many plot holes in The Avengers, and everyone treated that like it was the second coming of Jesus.
Now You See Me - Official Trailer
Interesting, I suppose.
I wonder if Michael Caine is getting tired of making movies about magic (The Prestige) and with Morgan Freeman (all the Nolan Batmans)
StudioADI Starship Troopers Animatronic Effects
>> ^Jinx:
Pretty sad that the best visual effects are from a decade or more ago.
You may think this is true, but there is still some pretty damn amazing animatronic work being done these days. (some more)
There was no way I'd have guessed that Wink from Hellboy 2 was an animatronic when I saw the film, but then I watched the making of and holy crap, that huge creature is a man in a suit with awesome animatronics.
CG is used a lot these days, but there's still room for awesome practical effects... still room.
Tom Hardy "StarTrek" screentest vs actual scene
>> ^Rambaldi:
It´s pretty clear after looking at this that much of Bane´s character in TDKR is Hardy rather than actor direction by Nolan. I heard Nemesis is awful and hadn't planned on seeing it, but now I'm curious.
Don't bother. It is horrible. Two words that don't belong anywhere near Star Treks should be all I have to say: dune buggy.

SKYFALL - 007 - Full International Trailer
Bond could stand to be a little more like Nolans Batman, this looks like it'll do that.
Man of Steel - Teaser Trailer
I wouldn't worry about the story side of things. David S Goyer and Christopher Nolan have written this film. Zack Snyder is just directing it.
Joker Laugh Comparisons - Ledger, Nicholson and Hamill
Hamill for me too - not seen the cartoon much but Hamill was also the voice of the Joker in Arkham City/Asylum which I enjoyed more than the Nolan movies.
Freeman And Caine Dark Knight Rises Interview
It's interesting to me that these two megastars seem to be fans of Nolan, just as fascinated by the details as anyone else... not an ounce of cynicism detected.
seamless.
The Movies Of Christopher Nolan
>> ^Payback:
My top five:
Ridley Scott - Alien, Blade Runner
Kubrick - 2001, Clockwork Orange, Dr Strangelove
Christopher Nolan - View video above
The Whedon - Firefly, Buffy (TV), the Avengers
Nicholas Meyer (Wrath of Khan, Undiscovered Country)
-Interesting tidbits
-I knew Nimoy Directed The Voyage Home, but didn't know he directed 3 Men and a Baby. - hmmph.
-I don't include Lucas, as he was a (3 movie) one hit wonder. Seriously, what else has he done thats's memorable?
-JJ Abrahms has WRITTEN and PRODUCED a ton of stuff I love, but he hasn't really directed anything.
-The Buffy episode "Hush" is the best, most original, scary, stand-alone story I have ever watched on television.
Whedon is amazing that goes without saying. You're right to not include Lucas, all you have to do is watch Indian Jones trilogy to see how he shouldn't direct and Spielberg should!

The Dark Knight Rises Trailer - The Prestige Style
my guess is no.>> ^brycewi19:
Excellent connection.
Gotta wonder if Nolan was actively thinking of this concept while putting together the Batman trilogy.

THOR-deleted scenes
>> ^VoodooV:
tell me...how do you have plausible character development for Thor and Loki, a couple of demi gods.
when you take into consideration this is a comic book movie...and on top of it, the only reason the movie existed was to introduce Thor for the later Avengers movie...I thought they did pretty good.
thats why i used the word tepid.
it was ok.pretty god is fine as well.
i disagree with the dismissal of character development.i was a huge thor fan when i was a kid and there is a ton of back story concerning loki and thor (along with massive amounts of lore) but the movie really didnt touch on those things.not in any substanstive way to relay their complicated brother relationship.in my opinion anyways.
thank god joss whedon went in a different direction and portrayed thor much closer to the comic books (even his gleeful physical bouts with the hulk).
i mean think about it.while nolan has done a fantastic job with batman.singer dropped the ball with superman and green lantern was an abomination and due to those two last failures we may never see a justice league movie.
character development and plot wrapped in a tasty story is vital to a good movie.even if that movie happens to be based on super hero comic books.
The Dark Knight Rises - Trailer #4
>> ^Deano:
It doesn't help that I hated Inception and found Dark Knight rather tedious with the overkill terrorist theme.
I loved Memento and the look of that film but this action stuff and the blend of CGI and live-action doesn't scream eye candy to me.
I played against Bane in that Batman game by the way and I just kept dodging out of his way. Dude's an idiot!
The Bane we see in this movie seems to be a very different animal compared to the version of Bane we saw in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. I guess Nolan doesn't do wrestling mask wearing roid monsters, and I admit it wouldn't seem his style either. I did get my ass handed to me at first by Bane in Asylum as I'm kinda slow with console style control schemes, I'm a mouse and keyboard user at heart.
