Pike County Sheriffs Beat And Mace Man In Restraint Chair

newtboy says...

Lol. See that peacock logo on the video?
Or are you saying unless every network shows it on their prime time national broadcast news show, it wasn't covered. I found reporting from ABC, NBC, CBS, VICE, even Fox (but not Faux news). I bet CNN had coverage too, but they aren't easy to search. Even if it didn't make the prime time broadcast, these networks all have late night national broadcasts that use local affiliate clips like this to fill the time.

If that's your position I guess that means there is no right wing/"conservative" news at all then, there is no nationally broadcast right wing channel, nor is there any right wing NEWS at all, only what they admit in court is ignorant biased baseless unbelievable hyperbolic uninformed opinion they call news but only morons could possibly believe it, and there are only basic cable networks.

Yes, punching someone in the head a dozen times with full force of a 250-300 lb man so hard it breaks his hand, with the victim restrained so they can't defend themselves is attempted murder. Pepper spraying a restrained man, letting him topple over to the concrete, and letting him gasp for breath for well over 10 minutes, tightly restrained on his back with no assistance, never checking on him while he's possibly aspirating or concussed from the fall, definitely struggling for air is attempted murder.

If the tables were turned and the cop was the victim, you would see at least 13 attempted murders, one for each punch and at least one for the mace to the face, and say every single one justifies killing the perpetrator. You are so transparent and hypocritical.

How do I know what?

Oh....you think? But let me guess, the guy had it coming for not submissively complying, and that justifies the cop going too far on four separate occasions....he should have immunity, civil and criminal, and so should the sheriff office.
Too bad so sad for the victim....right?

🤦‍♂️

Zero evidence, never stopped the fake news machine.

Besides They aren't "news" show they are "opinion" shows, no facts needed, right?

Cases were not tossed due to lack of evidence, but due to standing, or merit but not dismissed due to lack of facts.

Please keep up the fake news narrative.

newtboy said:

I guess you're ignorant of the fact that all three networks have said clearly and repeatedly that they have ZERO evidence of these bat shit crazy, false, stupid, verifiably wrong claims by Trump and his sycophants.
Not
One
Word
Of
Evidence.
They've retracted their claims, but too late, and won't have these Trumptards on anymore because they have to spend the entire segment stopping them from speaking and talking over them with disclaimers stating they have no evidence at all to verify these claims.
We all await discovery, because this time NOT having proof, like every other case tossed out for lack of proof, will mean they're guilty.

You're right, there's still a .00000000001% chance Rudy is right and everyone else in the world is wrong....but it's more likely solid gold monkeys will fly out of people's assets and save the economy from the Trumpandemic economy.

Wait for the reply!? You've gotten the reply....it was a retraction by everyone but Rudy and Trump.

LMFAHS. Bob, you haven't made a claim in 5 years that wasn't a lie. Truth from the right is in extremely short supply, but you have a massive glut of lies. That happens when you follow a consummate and constant liar blindly. Well over 30000 lies from the oval office in one term is not just a record, it's a record by a factor of 100 or more.
He's the best at lying (which doesn't indicate his lies are good or believable, just that he's prolific), the best at crime (more convictions than any three administrations combined), best at swamp cultivation (pardons for sale, ndas, loyalty tests, pardons for anyone who went to prison for him, totally allowed his cabinet members to be lobbyists for industries they regulated after swearing they couldn't ever, pardons for those who lied to the FBI, congress, courts, irs, charities...and he lied to all of them too.....and to you, daily.)

Thanks for the laugh. You're a good clown, Bob. Maybe take it up as a career.

MAGA Catholic Kids Mock Native Veteran's Ceremony

RFlagg, do you realize nearly 1/3 of the worlds population identifies as Christian? I’m not sure why you think the Republican party is the standard bearer for Christ in the world, but the majority of Christians don’t live in Western democracies. About a quarter billion of them face daily persecution from hostile governments. You are grossly mischaracterizing the faith by conflating it with the worst elements of the American church, which actually in many Christian circles is commonly referred to as the church of Laodicia. Have you ever read Christs letter to the church of Laodicia? Its in Revelation chapter 3.

So you may be shocked to find out that a lot of Christians will agree with you that the American church is backslidden. I also agree with you that too many Christians are too political and have said and done things which are morally repugnant.

I support this president, I also supported the president before him. Christians are commanded in Romans 13 to support and pray for our leaders. It doesn’t mean that we have to agree with them. I certainly didn’t agree with how the church as a whole overlooked quite a bit about Trump because of their desire to win a political victory. That doesn’t mean that any Christian who voted for or supports Trump is anything like what you described, so filled with hate. Many of us hate what is happening to the country, but we don’t hate the people who are doing it.

Your testimony about finding Christ revolves around attending church services and watching TBN and Fox News. Your reason for falling away stemmed from your disillusionment and disgust with the republican party. All of that is really the epitome of cultural Christianity. You may have had an experience, or felt some emotions, but you weren’t changed. There are millions of people sitting in pews all across America who are in the same situation; completely lost and thinking they are okay. This is the unfortunate side-effect of post-Christian culture; everyone has heard of Jesus and no one knows how to be saved or even what that means. They just know that if they add Jesus to their life, they will somehow make it to Heaven. So they just slap a Jesus sticker on everything they’re doing. They are still the same old rotten people, but now Jesus is with them and justifies all of their bad behavior. That’s cultural Christianity. Christianity is spiritual, not cultural.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God

You need to be born again, RFlagg, and that didn’t happen to you. It can happen to you if you surrender your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Attending church services won’t make that happen for you. Attending church doesn’t make you a Christian. Watching Christian programming on TV, conservative news shows, and agreeing with creation science doesn’t make you a Christian. You become a Christian when you repent of your sin and fully surrender your life to Jesus Christ. It is at that moment that He will make you into a new person. It’s so simple a child could understand it but man has overcomplicated it to the point of totally distorting the message of the gospel.

I think this statement illustrates your issue “If being in Heaven means being around the people who say they will go, Trump supporters, then Hell is a billion times better.”

You’re looking to man instead of God. It’s God that you have to contend with, not man. As a person who has rejected Christ, you are under Gods judgment and that is why you need Christ. It’s easy to say I’d rather be in hell, but I can guarantee you that no one in hell currently feels that way. Rather they are in eternal misery because they forfeited their eternal life with God. What did they forfeit it for? Sin, plain and simple. Your issue is sin and not the many reasons you have come up with to reject the Lord.

"The fact that God doesn't care enough to tell his followers that they are following the literal antichrist system, is telling. "

The Lord has detailed everything to do with that in the scriptures. Jesus railed on the Pharisees for exactly the same thing:

Luke 12:54-56

Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

The Lord outlined how the end times will proceed in the scriptures. There isn't much excuse for not understanding the times that we are living in. There will be a one world government run by the Antichrist, and the whole world will worship him.

"I do appreciate the higher degree of kindness you tend to show than certain others, and my family... almost all Trump supporters I personally know..."

Thank you, and I appreciate that you are willing to engage and talk about spiritual matters with me without trying to belittle me. That's not typical and I appreciate your civility friend.

Overall I am saying this to you because I care about you, not because I am judging you. I need Christ as much as you do RFlagg. It’s because of that, that I know how much you need Him that I am writing this to you. God bless.

Inventor Solves the Air Pollution Crisis

jmd says...

I pretty much saw everything coming, but in pieces. First was I sensed the differences in production quality (and profanity) that the interview was not actually part of the news show. Then when I saw what he had in his hand I was like "This can't be a serious invention so its part of the joke?" . Funny enough I lurk 4chan enough that I know a hitler mustache when I see it. I enjoyed the rolling joke but I am confused on if there was intended to be a message, as calling people who care about air quality nazis is well... not..funny?

I guess for the same reason this was sifted, her stunning incompetence is a spectacle to behold.

You could say she doesn't belong on a news show, but there's always the chance she will say something incriminating or illegal. She could fail so hard that it's newsworthy.

CrushBug said:

Why do people even bring her on shows anymore?

Bill Maher - Milo Yiannopoulos Interview

HenningKO says...

I thought it was great, now I know what Milo is like in real life. It's fascinating to see. Like Coulter, about 5 second reactionary barbs is all that Milo has... and that works brilliantly for news shows and twitter where nothing more is expected. Get them on a show where they can talk unscripted like real people for more than 20 seconds however, and you realize there's nothing else there. I'm glad Realtime exists, because it's one of the only shows where that can happen.

Jon Stewart Trashes CNN on 'Larry King Live'

ChaosEngine says...

No, you're absolutely right

I pay attention to what you and others on this site say because I've read what you've written in the past, and I think there are some smart people here who have interesting things to say.

But we can get in depth here. It's not just a soundbite; it's a discussion where people are forced to defend their arguments.

That just doesn't work with a tweet on a news show. It doesn't add anything to the conversation.

Especially with complex topics.

I couldn't care less what Joe Public thinks about climate change/ universal healthcare / GMOs. Get me someone educated. Sure, we can discuss it after, but on a limited time format, it's just noise.

Jon Stewart Rips NYT Journalist On Iraq War Reporting (pt2)

newtboy says...

Ahhh. I have not seen that targeted 2004 election poll, only the other polls and studies about overall current events. What those polls showed was that those that watch his show are (on average) more informed than those who don't, and yes, that could be from other sources, but it was those other sources' viewers/readers his viewers were being compared to, so at least his viewers are more curious and better at filtering BS than those that don't watch him, if they aren't getting better information directly from him.

Yes, I do understand he does not purport or even try to be a news show, which makes it all the sadder to me that, in reality, he is apparently the best "news" show our country has to offer these days...and he does that while being a comedy show. That's TERRIBLE, I hope you agree, and is much more a statement about the sad state of "news" organizations rather than his investigatory prowess.

If he were trying to be a news show, you could point that finger. Because he simply creates the most informative (or at least the most curiosity provoking) show without being or claiming to be "news", he is totally immune from that pointing finger. Fox, conversely, does claim to be straight "news", and it's viewers have repeatedly been shown to be less informed than those that watch/listen/read no "news" at all, far less informed than those who watch Stewart. Make of that what you will.

Mordhaus said:

No, a couple of polls have shown his viewers to be more knowledgeable about current events, not taking into account other possible sources of their information. Another poll showed the exact opposite regarding his coverage of the 2004 elections. The show's writers and Mr. Stewart himself both do not consider the program to be a source of actual news per their own statements.

The show covers news that it's creative talent wishes to satirize, which means if we are going to criticize Fox for skewing the outlook of it's viewers, we must point the same finger at TDS.

Jon Stewart Rips NYT Journalist On Iraq War Reporting (pt2)

newtboy says...

The thing about that is that his show has repeatedly been shown to educate viewers on the actual facts of the 'news' far better than the "real journalists" you would put before him. He presents the news in comedy fashion, but still in a much clearer, often more in depth, and more honest way than nearly any "news organization" operating today.

So it IS actual news, and more so than most "news" shows. Incredibly more so than, lets say, Fox, which is worse than watching no news at all, proven time and time again.

Mordhaus said:

I congratulate him on slamming real journalists over their reporting. It's pretty easy when your own style of reporting has no hazards, because you have maintained throughout your career that you are a comedian only and therefore not constrained by journalistic responsibility.

I like him, as a comedian. I consider the show to be a comedy show. Unfortunately many younger people consider it to be actual news.

TED: Glenn Greenwald -- Why Privacy Matters

MilkmanDan says...

I dunno, I think that he was asking an (unfortunately) common question in a way that gave Greenwald a fair and friendly environment to respond to it -- which he did in spectacular style. I thought that his response was definitely the highlight of the Q/A at the end, and arguably a highlight of the entire speech/video.

If he went on Bill O'Reilly or some other Fox News show, the same question would be asked, and then he be interrupted during his response rather that allowing him to point out the ridiculousness of that line of thinking... So, I think that between A) playing Devil's Advocate and getting that question out of the way, and B) kind of "lobbing" the question to him instead of really going full-tilt, it was a good way to allow Greenwald to respond to that issue without having it seem like they were avoiding pressing him with the "tough questions". Pretty well done, I think.

Jon Stewart Skewers Toronto Mayor, Again

Godless says...

Mmmm... I've been reading about this story in several Canadian newspapers and watching different news shows from different allegiances and in both official languages (Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, La Presse, CBC, CTV, so on) and they're all pretty much saying the same thing Stewart is saying. So go ahead and tell us, please, what's REALLY going on. I'm dying to know.
