Which upcoming film releases are you looking forward to? (Cinema Talk Post)
I'll be seeing a bunch of films at TIFF. Right now my most anticipated films of the festival are probably Perrier's Bounty (written by Mark O'Rowe, who wrote Intermission and Boy A), Harry Brown (a revenge movie starring Michael Caine! How can that NOT be awesome?), Enter the Void (new film from Gaspar Noe), Ong Bak 2, A Serious Man, and Air Doll (new film from Hirokazu Kore-eda).
"Polytechnique" trailer, new film of the Montreal Massacre
>> ^Pprt:
His name was Gamil Rodrigue Gharbi, and he was heavily influenced by his Muslim father's misogyny.
He was raised Roman Catholic. His father abused him. Moved out when he was 7. Ceased all contact with the family. Various sources show he had either a severe personality disorder or psychosis induced by the abuse suffered from his father. Claiming this is somehow connected with Islam is pulling at straws.
Former Interrogator Rebukes Cheney for Torture Speech
why are any of us even still LISTENING to darth cheney?
for someone who got everything so incredibly wrong,he should not have ONE second of airtime to create the falsely premised "torture" debate.
the neo-consevratives not only plunged this country into what may be its darkest hour, but killed the republican party in the process.
to watch that authoritarian prick state on show after show how necessary "torture" was, makes me want to bash his face in,for he is the worst form of coward.
i hope more military and intelligence people come forward like this man did,and tell us their stories.
great clip,i love brave new films.
Star Trek! (Blog Entry by Sarzy)
I've never been gaa-gaa for the whole Star Trek franchise. Even watched the first three Star Trek films recently and forgot how much I enjoyed Wrath of Kahn, Search for Spock, and even, to some degree, the first film helmed by Robert Wise. But, still, 'meh' all around in terms of adoration for something so underwhelming.
This new film does look fun.

Tim Burton's New Film: 9
>> ^demon_ix:
The original was a short film that was nominated for an academy award. Was kinda good, actually.

Let's see if Burton keeps it's spirit intact, or Planet-of-the-Apes-ifies it.
Thankyou!! I knew I'd seen it before...

There is an awful lot of two income parents around here who haven't a clue how to raise kids and are looking for anyone to take the burden off of them.
Don't take away that job from Television. Television needs that work.

Burn!
I haven't seen the new film yet; I may go with my son tomorrow. I'll cast the deciding vote on this film's value then. The only vote that matters, really.
What is this 'Iraq war' charge on my bill?
Continuation of the Robert Greenwald & Brave New Films writeup regarding the description of this series of videos:
"Since we first released "The Real McCain" a year ago, our REAL McCain series has garnered close to 2 million views, with over 13,000 comments and tens of thousands more in petition signatures! Clearly, John McCain's record is something the public wants to discuss, and yet the corporate media is doing NOTHING to present the truth. We feel obliged to continue countering the mainstream media's love of McCain. And so we thought it was high time for a sequel: 'The Real McCain 2.'"
Here's another. (There's one more of the 10 in total that no one has posted, but my queue is already tapped out).
Not a dupe
