Female Barbershop Quartet Sings Mashup

chingalera says...

He's right y'know...This is four gals harmonizing, far from barbershop. Female vocal ranges (with maybe the rarest of exceptions to be found on the planet) are soprano, mezzo-soprano, and contralto.

they need a baritone.
Or at least a tenor

nice performance.

Young Girl Crushes Adele's "Someone Like You"

>> ^Sagemind:
14 octave range? - Hardly. In fact she didn't hit any of the high notes in the song at all.
And there is no way her voice could hit the lower octaves.
Roy Orbison had a 3-4 octave range and was considered one of the best. I have no idea where the claim she can hit14 octaves - That's absurd

Soprano: C4 – C6
Mezzo-soprano: A3 – A5
Contralto: F3 – F5
Tenor: C3 – C5
Baritone: F2 – F4
Bass: E2 – E4
When you have an octave that means that the two notes are exactly 8 notes apart, hence the "oct" part in the word. This means that the octave of D is D. You count 8 notes from the starting note. i.e.
D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D= 8 notes all together

Diana Damrau sings Mozart 's "Queen of the Night"

legacy0100 says...

I know it takes incredible talent to do what she does. But I gotta say, I'm not enjoying her voice as much as I'd like. That's why I usually listen to Mezzo Sopranos instead.

I like a little bit of depth in volume. Usually when sopranos sing high notes their volume stays high but they lose that resonance I look for. Hitting high notes like that is incredibly hard, but doesn't automatically make it a pleasant sound, at least according to my personal taste.

Fellini's '8 1/2' - Great Moments in Cinema

Farhad2000 says...

Federico Fellini (January 20, 1920 – October 31, 1993) was one of the most influential and widely revered Italian film-makers of the 20th century and is considered to be one of the finest film directors of all time. Fellini's films typically combine memory, dreams, fantasy, and desire.

8½ (Italian: Otto e Mezzo) is a 1963 film written and directed by Italian director Federico Fellini. It is regularly acclaimed by film critics as one of the finest films ever made; in a recent poll of film directors conducted by the British Film Institute, 8½ was ranked 3rd best film of all time. The film was shot in black-and-white by influential and innovative cinematographer Gianni di Venanzo, and features a soundtrack by Nino Rota.

The plot revolves around an Italian film director, Guido Anselmi (Marcello Mastroianni), who is suffering from 'director's block'. He is supposed to be directing a science fiction film but has lost interest amid his marital difficulties. As Guido struggles half-heartedly to work on the film, a series of flashbacks and dreams delve into his memories and fantasies, frequently them with reality.
