New Radicals - You Get What You Give

lurgee says...

"Health insurance, rip-off lying
FDA, Big bankers buying
Fake computer crashes dining
Cloning while they're multiplying
Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson,
Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson
You're all fakes, run to your mansions
Come around, we'll kick your ass in".

Marilyn Manson - The Fight Song

mlx says...

Marilyn Manson just embodies Rock & Roll, don't ya think? I mean the show is so much a part of it, the flamboyant nastiness. The more parents hate him, the better. It used to be Elvis shaking his hips on Ed Sullivan, now it's...this.

You go, girl! LOL.

Emo is DANGEROUS

bigbikeman says...

Say it with me: "emo" is stupid. Worrying about emo is stupid-er.

In the end it's just the same clique-based teen angst that's been playing itself out in pop culture for quite some time now.
Elvis & rock n' roll, punk rock, ozzy, death metal, goths, marilyn manson etc etc etc. Retrospectively, all of these things look somewhat tame, and eventually the big fuss made over them looks downright silly. This video would be exhibit A.

Robert Johnson = Devil: Bullsh*t "Expose" by Christian Group

winkler1 says...

Hi-larious. Welcome to the irony-free zone.
I never played my AC/DC records backwards but my religious cousins did..

I wasn't sure this was real.. narrator seems like a perky California VH1 guy. But it's real.. they're also concerned with "MARILYN MANSON AND THE LONG GREASED POLE INTO HELL"... heh. Paging Ted Haggard!

O'Reilly Interviews Marilyn Manson

messenger says...

I don't think any of that is O'Reilly's opinion. He just says what he thinks his audience believes. If he thinks his audience wants to believe that Marilyn Manson is making kids kill themselves rather than their own parenting, he'll espouse that view and be all moral-highground about it.

It's like watching Law & Order. Every fear the average uneducated, uninformed American has is represented in some episode of Law & Order.

O'Reilly Interviews Marilyn Manson

pallen says...

Everyone seems surprised at Marilyn Manson's conduct during this interview. Having seen him interviewed before, and having listened to his music and seen him in concert, I'm not at all surprised.

My surprise is at Bill O'Reilly, whom I've seen many times on his show, and in interviews elsewhere. This is definitely the most relaxed, professional and polite I've seen him. I still find most of his points to be invalid (though not by such a degree as I usually do), but he was polite, he did not interrupt as frequently as he normally does, and his questions were at least mildly well thought out (though poorly researched and completely loaded against Manson).

In my opinion, O'Reilly is completley entitled to his opinion, and to express his opinion. My problem with him is not quite so often what he says as how he says it, and what he won't allow his guests to say no matter how hard they're trying to get it out. He should model future interviews on this one.

The Goddess Bunny

PinkGlitter says...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0184527/combined

"Johnnie Baima is an American drag queen.

Baima suffered a difficult childhood, being struck by polio and severely abused as a boy. As an adult he became a drag queen and changed his name to Sandie Crisp, gaining an enormous following in the Hollywood gay and transgendered subculture.

The Goddess Bunny is both the name of his alter-ego and the name of a rare 90 minute VHS documentary about Baima.

As well as Johnnie's following in the gay and transgender community, he has also attained some notoriety in mainstream culture by appearing in Marilyn Manson's Dope Show music video"
