Aleister crowley-without walls-documentary part 1

enoch says...

try don milo duqette qwiz.
his books on crowley, the golden dawn, enochian magick and the knights templar are fantastic reads (if your a geek like me).he also happens to be a nice guy (met him a few years back..ooo i'm such a lil name dropper).

lets remember that there are 4500 religions on the planet and the ones you are referring to are the abrahamic.
it is easier when you break them down into "eastern" and "western" theologies.western being predominantly the judau/christian/islam.

now as for the "do as thou whilt".that can easily be transcribed as "do unto others",different idioms with similar intentions and can be found in all religions in one form or another.it is the church that focuses on the subservience while the actual teachings of say jesus or mohamhed tend to be much more open in their interpretations.

My point was that "Do what thou wilt" is the antithesis to the Christian ideology of loving your neighbor and so on. Also seen in most other religions, which all demand "faith" and submission of some sort.

The Lord is usually just that, a lord and master, gazing on his willing minions.

"Do what thou wilt" is a rebellion against that, throwing down the master and embracing the individual as their own master. I like that aspect of it. As an extreme it can obviously not work, anarchy is a fools dream, but more freedom is nearly always the better solution.

Ultimately Crowley was as hypocritical as the religions he disliked though, creating his own based on Magick and weirdness. As usual the small cults are based on hedonism and sex, and while everyone likes that, it doesn't make for intellectual honesty. Magick isn't real.

That said, I haven't read his works to any extent, only paraphrases, so I can't be too critical. I'd like to read it, like I would like to read some Ayn Rand at some point too. Lots of controversial stuff that can be interesting.

"Do What Thou Wilt" an antithesis to Christianity.
Calling that satanism, is making it part of Christianity, since satan only exists in that.

"do what thou whilt may it harm none" was a traditional pagan saying but you can find the same inferrence in almost every religion.
you are correct in the statement concerning satanism,by its very terminology it is..by definition..a christian subset meant to be..as you stated..antithesis.
crowley rose through the ranks of the golden dawn and felt constrained by them.he moved onto a weird amalgamation of enochian magicks and heavily influenced by the rituals of calling and divination found in the book of solomon.

i have read a few books on crowley and either he was brilliant or batshit insane..maybe a combination of both which is most likely.
but for you atheists out there who abhorr religious hypocrisy...crowley is your hero.
he gave the church fits..literally.

How to kick the shit out of somebody

westy says...

well this is the thing , i like marshel arts and all the other sports as a form of dance and way of getting fit , allso they are like a living musum of culture. but allot of the people that practise them ohnistly think of them as a practical wepon , when in modern socity its very rare that you would actualy need to know annything to be in the best servival outcom . nearly always if in a confruntatoinal situatoin your better running away , allso due to the nature of street fighting chances are annyone who actualy has intent to hurt you will have a kniffe or a gun , in which case your fucked.

there is allso a huge difference to knowing basics of self defence and keeping fit and limber , over sumone that trains as if they are going to be a gladeator.

the latter seems like a very unproductive usage of time ( in the sence of doing it for self protectoin) I have nothing against people doing it for enjoyment.

I allso find sport scence quite intresting , and thats what this guys kick techneek realy comes down to , utilising the muscles in the most efficent way to deliver force at a given piont of contact. but its so retardedly simplistic compared to other scencies or other thigns of intrest , yet the guys presenting it teach it as if its some sort of mystical oober magick , exsploiting peoples retarded respect for martail arts that has developed over the yers.

infact one of the things that the japanise ninja sucsesfully did was convince people that they had magic powers and that was a sort of mental wepon that would give them the upper hand in a battel. its amusing that morons are still going allong with it.

In modern life u just need to know how to handle a knife use and look after a gun , and identify potentail situatoins from a distance so you can avoid them or run away. skills such as how to make money , or cook grow capture varouse foods , or be educated are going to be far grator factors in avoiding phisical fights and having good servival in modern life.

so i got this thing that fires metal faster than the speed of sound.

I can almost understand why people repeat this stupid comment in light of self-defense videos, but this is a sport. Nobody talks about how they own a bulldozer when watching football.

Johnny can't afford skool lunch, but he has an $80 cell foan, wears $200 sneaks and has three thousand dollars worth of video games and DVDs.

We're just "greedy" Americans? America has spent 7 trillion dollars on the 'war on poverty' and gotten jack shit for it, just more of the same.

How did people survive before the magickal welfare state? By being responsible and living within their means?

Best Description Of Republicans EVER!

This pssyass excuse on Obama's part that he "inhertited" a bad economy is just that, an excuse. He wanted the fking job, then filled the slots with tax cheats and other incompetent morons who have only made things worse. Dn't blame conservatives for this clusterfk, Team Obama is the one pissing napalm on a forest fire for two months now.

The magickal polls about The One's enduring teleprompularity say one thing, while the people who actually make the economy run are voting with their dollars: they don't trust Obamunism's jobs and wealth-destroying higher taxes and big government schemes. Many people who are for these scamulus packages doubt their effectiveness, or are starting to.

As for "know your enemy", I'll be doing my part to help the ailing economy by picking up a used copy of Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinksy.

Alinksy was the communist sociopath who 'inspired' both Shrillary AND Barry O. It's the moonbat playbook of the modern taxocrat party.

The Greatest Economic Myth: Government as a Window Breaker

quantumushroom says...

What magickal powers does the government have, spending money that THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THAT MONEY don't have?

The answer is none.

Government creates nothing. It's just raw, dumb force and (excessive) taxation is the power to destroy.

Obama & Friends know what it takes to turn the economy around. They just won't do it. I would enjoy their downfall except they're the last to be hurt by their folly. But hey, America, you wanted teh socialism, you got it.

Halloween Cheese - Tim Curry

i watched this frequently when i was younger. loved it. had a massive crush on mildred, who also played dorothy in a return to oz (how scary was that movie??!)

interestingly, the actress who played the witch in this film became a 'neo pagan'

"She was a well known neopagan even before shooting 1996's The Craft. She provided some witchcraft information on set and helped design many of the sets to match real pagan rituals. From 1995 to 2001, she owned Panpipes Magickal Marketplace, billed as the nation's largest occult store, in Hollywood, California."

Christians against Easter

HadouKen24 says...

There really isn't any educational value in this film, aside from the correct claim that the church instituted holidays around the time of pagan holidays. (Which doesn't at all mean that the holidays remained pagan; they kept the trappings, but changed the substance.)

Easter has nothing to do with Ishtar. The name of the goddess of Easter was Eostre. It's probable that Eostre was the goddess of the sunrise, like the Roman Aurora; her name seems to be cognate with, e.g., the Greek goddess of the dawn Eos.

His explanation of the meaning of Easter is based on the Wiccan celebration of Ostara. (Ostara is a possible Germanization of Eostre, though the name is not to my knowledge found in any extant ancient or medieval texts.) Wiccan practices are not the same as those of ancient paganism. Wiccan rites borrow heavily from Ceremonial Magick (Aleister Crowley, Israel Regardie, and the like). That said, there are modern pagans who have revived the ancient holiday of Eostre to the best of their ability.

Lost Cop Shoots Puppy On Private Property In Oklahoma

Crosswords says...

Unless the dog magicked out of thin air he should have known it was there and not left the safety of his door until he could discern it's demeanor. Failing that he could have used his pepper spray on the thing. Not the nicest thing to do to the dog but a lot better than killing it.

Some supposition on my part: I think the lady knows full and well the dog is aggressive, for one I didn't hear her proclaim the dog was a little angel that wouldn't hurt a fly, owners of aggressive dogs always say that, especially the ones that let their dogs run free. For her not to say that likely means she knows full and well the dog wasn't running up to him to give him kisses. And seeing as she has a security camera I'm guessing she's the paranoid type who let's her aggressive dog run free to keep people away from her property. Which is fine if the dog can't leave the property, and warning signs are posted for you know mailmen, package delivery people, kids etc.

So while I blame the officer for not being cautious and using excessive force, I don't think he's some monster who gets his jollies by shooting people's dogs.
