I forgot my phone

Jinx says...

I don't understand people that pay money for a live gig and then watch almost the entire thing through the lens of their camera phone. Guyz, in your vain attempts to capture the experience you are closing your senses to the present. It makes me sad watching you do it.

Underworld- Rez/Cowgirl Live LIVE LIVE LIVE LIVE LIVE*live*

I wonder if this is live.

Not sure, it may be. google would know.

It's the kind of semi-live that electronica artists tend to do. There are so many instruments that it would require 20+ musicians to play it "real live". Just take a look at J-M Jarres concert where every sound was made live (sorry couldn't find a link).. It is still shame that they don't play the themes. The performance is more "meta", where the actual melodies are not played but their intonation, the emotion part of the sound is manipulated live (timbre, levels, effects etc.)

So to asnwer that, no it isn't "live" but it is live performance.. It all depends on the individuals own definition of live performance... Most electronic artists do their live in this format and as a performer my self, it certainly is as intense as old school live gigs, maybe even more as the technology is fragile.. Anything can go wrong by simply pressing one wrong button, just like in every other kind of performance..

Kevin Smith's "Red State, USA" Coming to Your Town (Cinema Talk Post)

spoco2 says...

I love listening to Kevin Smith talk, I have both of the Evening With DVDs, I was in an audience with him talking for a couple of hours after a screening of Clerks II. I love Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy... after that, well... um. Dogma was pretty darn good, but found the poo monster to be purile. JASBSB was god awful, Jersey Girl was derivative tripe, Clerks II was better than I thought it was going to be, but not great. Zack and Miri had about one good scene, and Cop Out looks like utter shit that I'd rather not waste the time with.

Now... the trailer for this looks ENTIRELY different to what we're used to with him, like wow, that's something different to be sure.

Back during that talk I was at he said he was going to do a horror film, and I guess this is it?

Anyway... I wish him the absolute best fucking luck. I REALLY hope he has made a good film here, I'd love to see him prove himself and get back up after some average flicks.

(Not that he has done badly money wise on any films... and here's a fascinating titbit from the red state site:

"I have stepped up my live gigs considerably, including taking SModcast on the road as well – so much so that, lately, I’ve earned more just being me on a stage somewhere than I have for directing film."
. Which, I guess, doesn't surprise me that much considering how damn good he is in person.)

So. Good Luck Mr Smith, hope you do well.

QOTSA and Dave Grohl - No-One Knows (Live)

The most awkward chair commercial ever!

CreamKreator says...

This has to be a Finnish trait, i didn't think this commercial to be at all awkward, i was more interested about the product itself.. i want one, this could be a kickass during live gigs. My feet usually hurts so bad when playing (keyboards) cause i have to handle the pedal with the right foot leaving all the weight on the left whole time.

Maybe the close ups of testicles was a little longer then needed...
