Trump Walks Away After Being Challenged on Virus Testing

newtboy says...

Sure, because Obama never once took a question from any reporters or from right wing media...remember them, those non reporters who would repeatedly ask about his birth certificate being fake, or Benghazzi because then every single American life lost from a lack of foresight was reason for removal and prison unlike now when 80000 dead at Trump's tiny feet is a win in their eyes and not the president's responsibility at all, or lies about the ACA they knew were lies (death panels), etc.

Trump should know exactly how to deal with Incessant bashing , second guessing of every move, decision over last 3 years... even outright lies designed to make his presidency illegitimate, that's exactly what Trump was doing 3 years into Obama's administration. If you can't take it, don't dish it out snowflakes.

Trump failed at leadership at every turn here, from ignoring the danger for months until public outcry finally got some minimal actions, clearly too late and weak actions like halting only some Chinese from the quarantine zone but letting 40000 people from the area in without testing or tracing or quarantine. From continuing to facilitate shipping American PPE to China and elsewhere through March and maybe later, long after there were massive shortages here, to ignoring American manufacturers who in early February were offering to ramp up production and charge regular price, not a 1000% markup like Trump's federal distributors do, from absolute denial of the problem to debunked conspiracy theories that barely mask the underlying racism featured in this latest attempt to shirk any responsibility for his administration's failures that cost 80000+ American lives...the buck never once stops with Trump in his mind, the direct opposite of being presidential. *facepalm

If nothing is your responsibility or fault, you're far too impotent to fix anything. That's Trump.

Trump is a racist coward who can't answer even softball questions from Fox sycophants without looking stupid and naive. If you don't have the backbone or intelligence to answer basic factual questions with calm civility, you don't belong in ANY public office, much less the highest one.

Why does Trump even bother with media. Incessant bashing , second guessing of every move, decision over last 3 years. Watch the full clip. Trump is right to walk away.

The Blackface Democrat

enoch says...

this is offensive on so many levels.
let me guess bob, because a black man posted this,it must, therefore NOT be racist?

this is incredibly racist, because this man is basically saying that black folk are too stupid to make up their own minds.that they are chumps and sell-outs for simply always voting democrat.

because republicans have ALWAYS been a voice of reason and championed the underclass! right bob?

we could use the same logic and apply it to the mind-numbing meth-head hillbillies who get cock hard at the voice of trump.who are convinced that the republicans represent freedom, liberty and the constitution.

while those very same republicans consistently rob these people,of modest means mind you,to pay their buddies in wall street.who pass legislation to poison their water, dumb down their kids, create food deserts, incarcerate them (while giving their CEO buddies a pass and a slap on the wrist).continue to allow tax breaks and subsidies for their donors.passing laws allowing big corporations to send jobs to china and utilizing prison labor (slaves) and then BLAMING the people!

yeah bob, that coin turns both ways.

so the black man who blindly votes democrat can be criticized for his lack of foresight, but so can the aging white racist who consistently votes republican.

because neither the republican nor the democratic party give a flying fuck about either of you.

you both are sell-outs,chumps and uncle toms to a system that threw you both overboard 40 years ago.

fuck this video, and fuck you bob.

Baby elephant causes havoc at home

newtboy says...

Please explain.
The priority is clearly to save injured and/or abandoned animals and make them happy and healthy. They seem to be doing a GREAT job of that, at the expense of a cheap couch. What's the 'upside down priority' or 'lack of foresight' you speak of?
Are you suggesting the cheap outdoor couch is more important than the baby elephant's happiness and well being? THAT sounds like an upside down priority to me.

this is Liberalism on display at its finest. Good intention with complete lack of sense, upside down priorities and lack or foresight.

Thank you sir.

I also found it scary, even though I drive a 45 year old Bronco with ZERO computer chips in it (besides the CD player). I still share the road with millions of vulnerable cars, and now I have to fear a hack attack not just on the computer, but also on the road!
WTF guys! Who came up with this TERRIBLE idea of connecting the entire 'fly by wire driven' car to the internet? Just WOW. Talk about lack of foresight!

Climate Change; Latest science update

criticalthud says...

This is the first presentation that i've seen publicly that has mentioned "system adaption" - ie: the period of time it takes the ecosystem to adapt to events that are presently taking place or have already taken place. imho, this is a central concept that has been ignored. let's face it, human's lack both foresight and an awareness of our species as a whole. we are self-centered beings intent on immediate gratification.

the basic idea of system adaption is that even if we stop mucking about now, the damage that we have already done is still in the process of manifesting and will continue for some time.
the very same idea applies equally to the human body, and the human body is an expression of the planet. In other words, if we traumatize the human body, the effects, adaptation, and compensations take some time to fully manifest. this is very far from conjecture. it is fact. and the sooner you can attend to the problem, the easier your job is, and less suffering will be endured.

Lamborghini Show Off Fail

renatojj says...

@gorillaman understanding the subjective nature of value does not imply moral relativism, nor is it in any way detrimental to morality.

Morality is about choosing values, you can pick and choose all you like, it doesn't change the fact that values are subjective in the sense that they're not intrinsic to the object of value, they depend on the person/living being that assigns the value.

A baker does indeed value the bread he sells less than the money he wants in exchange for it, otherwise he would not see purpose in selling bread, he'd just hoard all his awesome bread to himself.

Differering circumstances are just one of the many things that may affect one's choice of values. You're not a fan of Lamborghinis, that can be for so many reasons. Maybe they're obvious to you, but your choice of values won't match that of a Lamborghini afficionado, or of a rich guy looking for a powerful status symbol. Who are you to consider your values any better than those of others when it comes to spending money?

I see that trade can be detrimental to a third party, but if there's no theft or destruction of someone else's actual property, treating that as a problem and trying to forcibly solve it by regulating or forbidding the trade is bound to cause more and bigger problems than the one you allegedly want to fix.

It's this lack of foresight that is so common among those who don't appreciate the evolving nature of freedom and competition.

Now you're saying you're not OK with "criminal" thoughts, but would you want to regulate thoughts? We can't directly mind control people, so can you even enforce that without infringing on freedom of expression? Do you think it's worth it to forcibly shape society's ideologies?

I proposed that ridiculous notion expecting you to repudiate it, I can at least appreciate the strong connection you make between personal and economic liberties. Too bad you apparently think we deserve neither.

Patriot Act Being Used Against a 16-Year-Old Boy

Nobel prize winner Paul Krugman slapping Bill O'reilly

phelixian says...

I didn't really like this clip for a couple of reasons. 1.) Paul Krugman, an intelligent man and scholar, couldn't confront BillO in a meaningful way. It seemed that he like all of us watching was cringing at what Bill said, but instead of taking him to task and getting him to shut up, he seemed to bend under the pressure and wring his hands uncomfortably without getting a good word in edge wise. 2.) Tim Russert, rest his soul, never did his job in getting BillO to be quiet long enough for Krugman to finish a sentence or train of thought. He basically allowed him to MAINTAIN CONTROL BY BEING THE LOUDEST one present.

It's frustrating to me, because we all know that BillO is a sexual miscreant that barely knows US history, takes marching orders from the GOP, and smears more than he is actually smeared. Furthermore he lacks a firm understanding of the issues he's talking about, but finds small patches of words to cling to and say louder. He was the one blowing semantics out his ass about the economy, which is comical for his lack of foresight but sad when looking at the current state of things.

I'd like to see more interviews where he actually has an adversary with a sharper and louder tongue to pummel his lousy flaffel head into the ground. Then, in three years when his prophesied future doesn't exist, we can force feed him alternative energy, socialized health care and education, and he's damn well gonna like it!
