You cannot successfully identify him, with out an IP trace to his Internet Provider, and then have them Identify him, which is only possible with court order.

You can however make assumptions based on relative opinion which would hardly stand up in court.

You could however Identify his Mac addresses, or router mac addresses, things that maybe the accused has forgotten to change while covering tracks.
