Wow.
$96 million wasn’t enough to get Trump to learn, and both on the campaign and TV interviews again lied about Carrol, the same idiotic lies (that he didn’t rape Carroll) that were disproven in court in the first case and cost him another $91 million for repeating after he lost that case.
The first judgement was $5 million, the second $91 million with interest. How much do you think the third award will be? 😂 (edit- if it goes up the same amount it will be about $1.3 billion for another case he’s already lost and an injunction that will end in prison.)

Trump world is crumbling and I’m so there for it.

Today we got a recording of Colorado District 4 Congressman Ken Buck pressuring an El Paso County GOP official to falsify (primary) election results in the State Senate District 10 race in 2020. “Just add this name to the ballot and give him the top line vote, with 30% of the vote.”

“ Buck: “Do you understand the order of the executive committee and the central committee that you will submit the paperwork to include Mr. Stiver and Mr. Liston on the ballot, with Mr. Liston receiving the top-line vote?”

Bremer: “I will seek legal counsel as I am being asked to sign an affidavit that states Mr. Stiver received 30% of the vote. I need to seek legal counsel to find out if I am putting myself in jeopardy of a misdemeanor for doing that. ”

Buck: “And you understand that it is the order of the central committee that you do so?”

Bremer: “I will consult with counsel. Yes sir, I understand the central committee has ordered me to sign an affidavit stating that a candidate got 30% who did not, and I will seek legal counsel and determine if I am legally able to follow that.”“

https://krdo.com/news/2020/05/08/gop-chair-in-el-paso-county-says-congressman-ken-buck-told-him-to-submit-false-election-results/

They were stopped from just discarding the primary vote by legal injunction, and they appealed saying they’ve done this so often that if they allow people to file for injunction against this illegal election fraud then the courts will be clogged for years because they’ve done this uncountable times.

Another blatant, outrageous, totally anti democracy election fraud by Republicans. Your party should be declared enemies of democracy and every registered Republican deported to a non democratic country, forfeiting 100% of the assets they’ve taken from America….or lined up in the street and shot as active traitors. The Japanese weren’t as anti American in WW2 as today’s Republicans…and you’re one of them. Your party should be renamed Ephialtes.

sally yates hands senator ted cruz his ass

enoch says...

@harlequinn

i have witnessed many of my more right leaning friends on social media ask a very similar question, but ignore that the attorney general is first, and foremost,an agent of the court.

sally yates did nothing illegal.she simply was upholding a lawful injunction passed down from ninth circuit court federal judge william orrick.(who is a republican, for what it is worth).

what yates DID do was ignore an executive order commanding her to challenge the injunction, which she refused and told her subordinates to do the same.which is considered gross insubordination, and the reason she was fired, but she had every right and legal cover to ignore that EO.

the DOJ,and subsequently the attorney general, are not their for the presidents leisure.they are part of the judiciary branch, which is separate from the executive.though every president has replaced the current attorney general with one that most aligns with their politics.

the fact that so many diehard rightwingers see what yates did as anti-patriotic is a stance that i find very disturbing.that somehow by disobeying the president, she crossed some imaginary line, and therefore should be punished for her disobedience.

which she was! she was fired.

but to imply that disobeying an executive order is tantamount to treason, goes against the very ideology of our constitutional republic.the president is not KING.he does not wield absolute power.

and to pretend what yates did as illegal, and treasonous, for disobeying the president.... is fascism 101.

Governor of Washington Slams Trumps over Muslim Ban

enoch says...

so i have been watching this argument over the "ban" all over my facebook.people really like their little "memes" that offer no real criticism, nor any context, they simply display that persons particular bias.the discussion over this "ban" was not my issue.my issue was with the utter lack of depth of understanding.the evident laziness of those who got up on their little soapbox and sanctimoniously, and self-righteously moralized over a situation that they maybe..maaaybe..spent a total of five minutes on.

until finally my head exploded, and i went into hulk-mode.this was my rant, that i now share with you all:

jesus fucking christ...am i reading these comments correctly?

ok,lets put a little clarity into the mix, shall we?

first of all its not actually a "ban" but an extension to vette refugees further.

sounds reasonable right?

but what is NOT mentioned is that the majority of these refugees have already BEEN vetted, and the process has taken up to two years already.

so stop wetting your pants over brown people who happen to be muslim.

secondly,
let us take a look at the countries whose refugees are being "banned".

notice anything?

each and every one of those countries the american military is deployed in.the CIA has been fighting a proxy war in syria for five fucking YEARS.obama expanded operations into:sudan, somolia, yemen, syria and jordan (another proxy war executed by our radical saudi arabia buddies, who just happen to hate america and promote the most radical of muslim interpretations:wahhabism.they spend BILLIONS of their oil money to open madrasas across the region to light the match of radical islam)

so we,along with russia, turkey and other nations, are bombing the SHIT out of these countries, therefore creating the refugee crisis in the first place, and then we turn around an slap a "ban" on them.

oh,i'm sorry, not really a ban, just an extension to vette them further, because god knows we need more than two years to find out if someone is radicalized.

hypocrisy much america?

thirdly,
and this should make us all VERY nervous, but corporate media has YET to address this little turd nugget.a federal court slapped an injunction on this "ban",because it was not done through the proper channels, but rather through executive order.

and DHS ignored the injunction.
IGNORED it,because who needs "checks and balances" right?
who needs an institution, which was put in place to uphold the law and to restrict a sitting president from over-stepping his authority?
right?

and the fact that the DHS,which is under the DoD,outright ignored a direct order from a federal judge to cease and desist, because trump had overstepped his authority by attempting to use executive orders to circumvent the law.,and this was just an injunction, which really just means "stop!until we further review"...the DHS ignored the injunction.

lets ignore the fact that trump gutted the very agency that would have been the first to challenge his executive order "banning" these refugees.trump literally gutted all the high ranking officials at the state dept.

his press secretary said, and this is fucking laughable..they resigned..ALL of them?
all of them just stood up and resigned?

so it came down to a judge to hold trump accountable, which he did by injunction and an entire dept ignored that federal judges ruling.

now let us look at the countries left off that list.

notice anything?

well well well...would you look at that.
not only do they all purchase large amounts of weapons and military apparatus from us.not only do have they have large reserves of oil that our american companies make a shit ton of money from, but lookie here..trump has business in every singly one of those countries.

coincidence?

oh,and lets not overlook the fact that by executive order trump opened the door to have steve bannon on the national security council!
an unqualified, and with zero experience white nationalist is now on the national security council.

this is unprecedented!

but who cares right?
who needs those protocols,or checks and balances right?

trump is slowly creating his own tiny cabal of extreme loyalists and you people are wetting your pants over some brown people who lost everything, and have spent TWO FUCKING YEARS to find refuge?

this isnt the behavior of a president.
this is the behavior of a king.

yes,other presidents have implemented bans.
this is not a new thing.
what IS new,and some of you nimrods are either willingly,or unwittingly ignoring,is that THOSE bans were in direct response to the US being threatened by a particular group, and THOSE bans had the approval of congress..not a fucking piece of paper that king trump signed.

does america need to reform it's immigration policies?
yes,most certainly.

do we need to have an system in place to help assimilate refugees from syria beyond vetting?

of course, all we have to do is look at germany and see what happens when you allow refugees into your country without proper preparation and a system in place to see just how horrible it can get.

does this mean that every muslim refugee is somehow a terrorist?

well, just look at dearborn michigan.the largest muslim community in america and tell me how many terrorist came from that city? how many muslims were radicalized in dearborn?

is radicalized islam a problem?
yes,of course,who would deny this?

but the causes of radicalization are well understood, and have been well documented, and it is NOT only muslims who engage in terrorism.

really folks, before you start making declarations of certitude without having even the most basic knowledge how our government functions, you need to shut the fuck up.

and for FUCK sakes pick up a book once in awhile, and stop being a gaggle of fucking bed wetters.
jesus...you little fags piss yourselves every time a muslim is even mentioned in conversation.

oh,and before one of you tough guys even think about talking shit to me.
1.i am ex military.so go fuck yourself.
2.my JOB is to debunk bullshit stories and research politics and offer analysis.

so you better think twice before you go off half cocked, because my comment hurt your wittle feewings.your comments are ignorant and they are so lacking in the basic understanding of how this government operates that the only feeling you should having right now is:SHAME.

*edit:this is not directed towards anyone in particular here, but this single focus on trumps ill-thought "ban",and how he did so in such a broad, and general wave of a pen stroke that affected even those HAD gone through the process to get their green cards, visas etc etc is simply buying into the corporate narrative.

and then NOT consider the implications of a gutted state department, the loss of the attorney general and the defiant, disobedience of the DHS in regards to a federal judges injunction.

is unforgivable in it's ignorance.

the implications ALONE should make us all worried.
very very worried.
because it appears trump is reshaping our government into his own little fiefdom of loyalists, willing to defy the everyday governmental operations of checks and balances.

trump is consolidating and concentrating his power by creating his own little cabal of loyalists.that motherfucker has ALREADY put his candidacy on the ballot for 2020.now accepting donations to the highest bidder! feel free to purchase your own piece of the american presidency!

on sale NOW! so act fast! positions are limited!
*prices may vary according to your status and where you reside on the class scale.poor people can simply fuck off.

i realize this speculation on my part,
and i could be wrong.
god..please let me be wrong.

BTS:Sick Pigs from GMO Foods | Interview with Jeffery Smith

arekin says...

Per the study:
"60 of non-GM pigs had mild or moderate inflammation compared with 41 GM pigs, and only 4 non-GM pig stomachs were graded “nil,” while the GM pigs tallied up 8." And "The researchers found few statistically significant differences between the two groups after comparing them based on nearly 20 different parameters, including weight gain, stomach ulcers and kidney abnormalities. The GM-fed pigs did, however, show significantly higher rates of “severe” stomach inflammation, as well as an average of 25 percent heavier uteri in relation to body weight."

Also: "According to the study’s authors, the GM corn and soy used in the study were considered compositionally and substantially equivalent to the non-GM varieties by government agencies. But the lack of a controlled feed-growing environment potentially calls the results into question, according to Kent Bradford, Ph.D., director of the Seed Biotechnology Center at the University of California, Davis."

Lastly, the protection bill was actually an anti-litigation bill to prevent injunctions from tying up seed sales in court as has happened before.

Remember Kids, its only propaganda if the other guys do it, if we do it, its the truth!

Obama Gives Monsanto Get Out of Jail Free Card

arekin says...

ALSO, after a quick read on what the bill actually states...
First this bill was part of a bill to prevent government shutdown, it really needed to be signed. It does not grant Monsanto a get out of jail free card, it prevents them from injunctions by other seed producers filing injunctions to shut them down and sue them out of the market. This is directly related to a 2010 lawsuit between Monsanto and another seed manufacturer that resulted in extensive litigation and could have cost the company considerably in lost revenue if they could not offer their seed at the right time of year due to a injunction. With agriculture you could lock someone out of the market every year by simply filing suit at the correct time of year and then dropping it after the planting season is done.

Apple kills Star Trek

I've read a few takes on the trial that say this is all good news for Samsung. If you accept that they copied then it's just cost them $1bn to become second in the market. And they're appealing that in any case. Their marketing budget alone is $3bn.
Meanwhile Microsoft "innovated" with Windows Phone and they're nowhere. Look where Palm and Nokia are. Following in Apple's footsteps was the smartest move.
And yes, do a bleeding decent Picard voice!

$1B, and what could turn into a permanent injunction against sales of some of its top-of-the-line products. That's a killer. Won't know until December, though.
Well, it's mostly last-generation stuff. But I imagine they still sell Galaxy S2s.

It's not going to kill Samsung or fundamentally hurt them in any way. And they'll be appealing this for years. I'd understand if the Galaxy S3 was affected but it's not.
I know I'd prefer to be in Samsung's position rather than say RIM.

60 Minutes -- Lehman Brothers Investigation

kceaton1 says...

This only serves to aggravate me. Another taxpayer panel in which we enjoy the benefit of plausible deniability (or whatever there greased 300,00$K lawyers claim works for the current system of worked in loopholes). More so, because I know not a single one of these sons of bitches will do time or ever care--really care. They should be in jail for life. They should be in a federal prison, full security, no white collar bullshit.

They should live on a meager sum the rest of the entirety of their days with all their buildings, lands, businesses, capital, funds, CDs, IRAs, everything except their social security and even that should be looked at (as they should be allowed a low middle income and that is IT); they can gain no earmarks, no passes from their buddies or gifts (although he can live with him as long as his money is not being paid out), they cannot benefit from a will or other form of transfer ship at an appointed time or setting, and then ANYTHING I haven't covered. No politics, no books, no television, no movies, you're in the "white collar" death knell that is their true jail cell. He CAN enlist in the army, they may have a modest job, but the dream of riches are OVER. They chose the ultimate path of pressure that can be exerted on a white collar criminal.

If only we thought that crime like that could be as dangerous as a murderer (and trust me--I'm sure many of you do know already--but, if you don't white collar crimes can end up killing thousands of people, but their hands are virtually clean). Perhaps it is part of the taboo we have with mental disease, we'd rather it remain in the back-room or rather in the back of your mouth. Strangely many of these white collar criminals most likely all suffer from having almost NO empathy for others; they literally could care less what it is like to be me or you. This is a mental issue, but we never talk of such things--it's rude! But, violence has its own mental disease "shards" as well that cause it to start either young or later in life...

But, we refuse to deal with the main topic, so how about punishment(s) atleast? White collar crime is seen as something you do at your beach house in Florida on the weekend. Your lawyer tells you about it on your flight into Boston on Monday, you have three death threats sent to your e-mail, you mildly humming, "Hip To Be Square", send them to your spam folder and block the senders after you send them a death threat/repossession letter back through a company proxy, which then you use another proxy to feed the final bytes through. Your lawyer tells you you'll have to show up to an injunction and say this exact prepared statement, which of course, nicely enough they allow you to read from when they take your testimony. This is our guy. Right now he's eating a stake with a glass of Chardonnay from Italy in the early 90's--meanwhile, "Easy Lover", is booming in the background while his mistress takes a swim in his Penthouse's swimming pool. He doesn't have to get up early, so it'll be a long night--after all nobody is coming for him.

Attack them hard and they might take notice.

What a new punishment that would be for white collar criminals--a death sentence, for them.

Just institute what I said above and it may change things. Attack the problem psychologically, as jail-time is either meaningless or to them it's "Club Fed". But, this of course requires good lawmakers, which requires competent voters, which requires a great education system...

No calls, no businesses, no helping: they are burnt.

The healing power of the mind

ZappaDanMan says...

@berticus yeah.. this sift does seem to fall flat on it's ass, halfway through reading that PDF. When you think of some of the workplace workgroups (communication seminars.. ect.).. which fuel the whole self help movement:

"Injunctions to ‘‘think positively’’ are pervasive in North America.
Self-help books, television shows, and loved ones advise
thinking positively when one faces a challenge or is unhappy.
Yet the present results suggest that for certain people, positive
self-statements may be not only ineffective, but actually detrimental.
When people with low self-esteem repeated the statement,
‘‘I’m a lovable person’’ (Study 2), or focused on ways in
which this statement was true of them (Study 3), neither their
feelings about themselves nor their moods improved—"

I got more reading to do

God Saves Graduation from Evil Atheist

So you don't mind when governmental bodies show preference or reverence to certain religions. That's cool, but you don't have to distract from the real subject by ranting about PC crap and whiny atheist bitches being offended - since that has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I stand by my previous statement. It's STUPID EASY to keep religion outside of schools and where it belongs.

>> ^Yogi:

>> ^braindonut:
So, your argument is that by leading the graduating class in a prayer, they weren't showing a preference towards the god they were praying to, over the numerous other religions they could have been honoring?
hmmm... yeah, that makes no sense at all.
It's not hard to keep religion out of schools. It's simple. Easy as hell. And the best move, in ALL cases.
>> ^Yogi:
>> ^braindonut:
Your comment makes no sense to me whatsoever.
It's really quite simple: Schools should not show preference to any religion. Period. That's what this principal just did. Whether or not there's a majority of people wanting to pray has absolutely nothing to do with it.
I hope they get sued.
>> ^longde:
Bullies? I don't think so. What's the big deal either way? If the majority of the students want to take a minute out of their ceremony and pray, so what? Let those fools pray. Noone has to participate. How are they hurting anyone to say a few religious words aloud?
If anyone is a bully, it's the kid who filed a lawsuit to defy them the right to pray. Now that is troll behavior. I am glad they defied the injunction.

Preference? Nobody who was christian got a better grade...they got a minute to do a prayer. News flash people are different and they get treated differently.

I'm sick of this PC shit. Everyone acts like they deserve things like never to be offended. If you don't like something don't participate, same with TV change the damn channel. It's completely narcissistic for you to say that because I'm an atheist everyone has to stop what they're doing and take me into account.
It's a fucking graduation, it's completely voluntary, I didn't even go to mine. So quit being a whiny little bitch and thinking that the whole world revolves around you. I'm an atheist too but I'm not gonna put up with whiny fucking atheists crying about unequal treatment, live under slavery and then come talk to me.
