now dont get me wrong,i like techno..well..progressive/house/trance mainly,
but nothing can replace nor compare to a musicians heart and soul playing what they love most.
im a record-record player from back in that day,and i would never have the balls to compare what i did to what a musician does.
musician>dj everytime,always..thats non negotiable.

I thought you had misspelled Siouxsie Sioux there . Nice song, I liked it. As you've probably guessed from my avatar, I'm very fond of Dylan. Vintage rock, especially late 60s and the 70s, is what I love the most. Also a big fan of early hiphop, delta blues, classical music and LOTS of other stuff

i have gotten better at assigning channels,i noticed i didnt assign rock-n-roll for some when i should have.
im not that versed in hip-hop.breakbeats/progressive house/trance..but hip hop?not so much.

i thought this was from a radio one promotional concert..
hmmm..guess i was wrong.good to know i was not the only person who likes progressive/house/trance.

Unfortunatly i find the base line and base beat in techno dosent have enoughf varatoin ore brakeup. i think for this resoin trance and varatoins of trance are far esear to listen to. however the advantage of a continues beat that dosent change is its inductoin of a trance like state which is often lost with manny forms of trance and house. where emotinal state is generaly derived from the harminies and melodies layed ontop of the rithem.
i would like to see more house, hard house , trance that combines the techno sound with the varouse difrent underliying beats and structuers found in techno.

Yes, there's a difference. It starts with a base of House music which is composed of an even 4/4 kick bass drum beat. From there there are a million different styles of House, Trance, Techno, etc., etc. This is in contrast to breakbeats where the kick is pretty much whatever you want it to be.

If you are really interested there's a fairly good site that shows the rediculous amount of "styles" involved in Electronic music. It's called Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music.

As for the DJ's, some of them actually produce the music they are spinning too. A good DJ will spin music to guide the crowd where he/she wants to take them, bringing them up or down or whatever. They also mix music together in new and interesting ways so a song can sound completely different when it's mixed with something else. But on the other hand, a bad DJ is nothing more than a glorified CD changer. And a really bad DJ will bring a party to a crashing halt.

That's all my opinion anyway. In my mind, all hip-hop sounds the same and I don't like it, so it's all a matter of preference.
