Death of a Honey Bee
>> ^teknotoast:
This video was ripped from the youtuber "Plomomedia". Please at least give credit to him for the shot.
@teknotoast - it wasn't "ripped", it was simply embedded using the youtube embed code provided by Plomomedia. If Plomomedia does not want the video linked to on websites such as VideoSift, it is a simple matter to disable embedding.
@xxovercastxx - A shout out to the photographer would be nice in the description and/or tags.

Nicely done, beelicant.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Angry hornets covered in soap atop the shoulder of an exterminator. I've watched fireflies glitter in the dark near Old lady Ethel's Garden. All those moments will be lost in time, like ants in the rain. Time to die.

was this after the stinger was removed?
I'm not positive, but I believe this is a male. They do not have stingers.
edit: Nope, definitely a female.

However, conservatives generally didn't object to the election of Bush, to the invasion of Iraq (indeed, they felt even questioning it was beyond the pale), to McCain joking about bombing Iran, to enhanced interrogation/torture, or to the GOP's general anti-science attitude (fruit flies, honey bees, etc.), so it doesn't seem reasonable to say conservatives didn't support these things and it was only Bush's fault. Most conservatives are neocons under that definition.
Uh, no. A neocon is a conservative on some topics (say, taxes) who believes in big government. It has nothing to do with anti-science (which is an embarassment to me) or the other topics, I guess, beyond the fact that normal conservatives agree with neo-cons on some of the topics.
Part of the problem is that our society is so highly polarized into an us-and-them mentality that people think that if you agree with President Bush on one topic, you do/should agree with him on all topics. And to a certain extent it's true - a lot of conservative senators voted for Bush's stimulus bill, but voted against Obama's (when they suddenly rediscovered they were for small government, because Bush was gone).

^I think it's used as a general term for the conservatives who give reasonable conservatives a bad name.

Argh! The "bees sting once" myth! Bees can, and do, sting repeatedly. Only a small number of bee species die upon stinging. Myth myth myth.
Erm... ok, except that you are wrong when it comes to STINGING PEOPLE. From our source of all knowledge that is so very correct that you can't possibly argue against it (
So, we, being mammals and all, get stung and the bee dies.
It goes on to say that this is with honey bees only, but you know what? The VAST majority of bees we come across here are HONEY Bees, and the ones I was talking about, as I stated, the imported bees are all honey bees. They imported HONEY bees for their HONEY. We have native bees as well, but I wasn't talking about them.
So it is NOT a 'myth myth myth', for most of us, the vast majority of bees that we come across in day to day life are honey bees, we are mammals, if a honey bee stings a mammal its arse rips off and it dies... end of story, no myth.
Geeze.
