Final Destination 5 - Visual effects for the opening scene
>> ^Kreegath:
The way they throw money at a greenscreen to avoid having to actually film stuff. I'm sure the animators are working very hard and are extremely good at what they do, but all impressiveness of a special effect is lost for me when it's computer rendered. They're over relying on green screening to such a ridiculous degree, even in areas where it's completely unnecessary, that it totally breaks my immersion.
Also, I'm pretty sure they could do this scene with practical effects if they at all cared about the art of film making. The physical restrictions of actors and effects were one of the reasons film makers had to be innventive, which did lead to interestingly shot scenes.
I'm sure they'd do it all practically if it were possible, affordable and safe. Not much of this scene is.

Visual Effects In Movies: The Green Screen
The ones that amaze me are the ones you'd just never guess they would need to do as greenscreen. The simple little street sections where it's obviously just more expensive to close off a bit of street and handle all of that than to do it on the backlot and add it in later.
Amazing.
Jar Jar's New voice for Star wars blu Ray- Better or worse?
If Jar Jar could have been done with an incomprehensible language with subtitles then it might have been consistant with the rest of the original star wars films--but consistency wasn't what Georgey was going for. As it stands I still haven't watched the Star Wars Episode Podracer: The CG/Greenscreen Strikes Back! (And I never intend to*.)
*I'm running on the assumption that if you've seen Weird Al's American Pie cover video, and a few other random internet clips, you don't need to sit through episode 1.

I don't know what I love more: his hair or the backdrop.
This was all I could focus on too, and what the hell was that random switching of backdrop? I it supposed to look like he's turning to another camera, "60 minutes"-style?
So anyway , this website is run from this respectable office projected on the greenscreen eh? That probably means everything he says is true. Its a mark of credibility. Thats a fact. Look it up. In the bible.

So no CGI... but like - Bluescreen/greenscreen.....looks like a huge overlay around 0.50
I was going to say the exact same thing. And that branch IN FRONT of the bear at 0:43 is a joke. "No CGI" implies no photoshopping or greenscreen too in my opinion, so this is complete and utter FAKE bullshit.
