When Race Calls Go Bad

rubicon says...

Remember this one well - even got a run on the Footy Show - Channel Nine Melbourne Jim Jacques is prone to screeching and screaming so it was bound to happen !!

Be Careful what you Say

While I heartily approve of violence against the Footy Show hosts, guests and/or audience, I'm gonna have to agree with Newman here (one sec.... gotta throw up.... ugh)

Anyway, did anyone watch the TKD at the olympics? It was utterly boring to watch. I've nothing against it as a martial art, but as a spectator sport it's really dull.

This is why we love football

15 minutes of highlights. Amazing. Definitely cheered and clapped alone on my couch. Nice post.
@Deano, how is this not skillful? I understand not all sports clips are skillful, but jeez. Gut feeling and pure subjective opinion, I guess.

Sport clips often demonstrate lots of skill but I want to cover the most skillful in each field.
Stuff like this is adequately covered by sports and you'd expect professional footballers to play reasonably well - any old footie clip is going to show some level of skill but they sure aren't enough to be added.
Else I'm going to have a huge amount of overlap with other channels where anything exhibiting skill would be tagged. Again, if it's truly, truly exceptional then it can be tagged as Skillful but most will not. I believe this makes sense.

Hilarious Australian Rules Football in slow motion

Announcing Melbourne, Australia Siftup. With Dag attending. (Downunder Talk Post)

kymbos says...

Speak for yourself! I'm hip. I'm with it. Dakadakadakadakadakadaka.

Anybody? Anybody?

I think we'll need to do a bit of bar-hopping pre and post to show Dag what we gots. There's also the option of footy... Fark, I just had a horrible feeling that we had planned it on AFL Grand Final weekend. No worries, that's on Oct 1st. So no footy.

Fail costs MMA game but Idra fails harder

@ Psychologic I didn't actually want an explanation, it was more that the description is gobbledegook to anyone not involved with StarCraft or online gaming like that.

And soccer clips have "gobbledegook" descriptions to anyone who doesn't follow footy. And hocky vids, and cricket vids, etc., etc.

Judging by the comments and upvotes, there are plenty here who follow gaming competitions.

Hilarious Irish Rally Co-Driver

StukaFox says...

"Ah For Fook Sake, Lad, Fook It" is actually the title of the National Anthem of Ireland:

"Ah for fook sake, lad, fook it --
Our country's gone to hell in a booket;
We got the unemployment,
an' we sure the fook aren't gon't enjoy it."

It goes on for another 600 stanzas, but most of the singers are so reeling pissed by the time they get to that fourth line it's usually time for a "pint and a fight -- a great Irish night!" Makes starting footy matches a bit of a challenge.

Epic Penalty Kick Fail

BBC iPlayer Uncovered (Geek Talk Post)

Deano says...

Can't say I actually use iplayer alot - my PVR has me covered for most things and they don't have the rights to show the footie again on the web. I presume alot of the content gets hacked and torrented in any case so not having access might not be that inconvenient.
