Interview w/ Sarah Palin on Climate Change
See, not ONLY is she a bible bashing, gun toting, narrow minded redneck... NOT ONLY THAT.
But she CONTINUES to do the bullshit politician crap of never directly answering a direct question.
If you're going to be 'folksy' and 'down to earth' (which she really isn't), then at least be like that brand of people and be straight forward and to the point, don't beat around the fucking bush whenever you're asked a question you haven't pre-scripted.
Outkast - Hey Ya
Good but I think the folksy cover versions are better.
TPM: Speechless
^ Those are all valid concerns, particularly with regards to our regular participants in election fraud, Ohio and Florida.
No one should rest on their laurels by any means, but I think the more direct comparison between the candidates the better.
The more direct conversations between them on the issues of the day, the better.
McCain hasn't broken with Bush on a single issue, and doesn't have an attractive way of repackaging it, either. McCain isn't charismatic like Bush. Bush always seemed like a folksy plainspoken sorta guy (back before we knew what he really was like). McCain just seems like an angry old man.
Things like physical appearance, speech patterns, demeanor, etc. matter to more voters more than the substance it often seems.
The real war is going to be a media one, but Obama has been able to hold his own with it pretty well so far. Media wars can also be counteracted pretty effectively by a good ground game, and his has been outstanding.
There's plenty to feel good about, but there is still a lot of work to do to make sure good word about Obama gets out there, and we dispel the Republican myths.
Goldfrapp - A&E
I love this woman's voice. This is a little different from what she normally does, kinda folksy, but excellent nonetheless.
Rove Wants Hillary
It is awfully telling that Republicans so vocally want Hillary to be the Democratic nominee... that speaks for itself.
LOL at the Hillary ad. Oh Hillary, you so folksy.
Ron Paul on "Face the Nation" 11-11-07
That's Bob Shieffer(sp?)(The interviewer)who is famous. And boy did he suck in this one. Maybe he thought he was being informal or folksy, but he ended up looking rude and inappropriate.
George Carlin - Please Wake Up America
JMZero, you deny so many things, I have to wonder why you protest so much? You haven't convinced me of anything, you've just polarized me even more.
Maybe if you'd acknowledge a problem instead of whitewashing it with folksy advice and pat comments. Reminds me of President Bush.
Jesus Loves You (conditionally)
Imayliffe - Your posted comments detail an extensive history how those claiming to be Christians have screwed up multiple times. While you may want to blame Christians for everything, we could use history or current events to detail how other groups of people have messed up too. Your statement that this is "good old fashioned bullshit religious guilt" ignores the very facts you've tried to use to bolster your own claims.
Your fake progressivism makes me sick Imayliffe; intellectual rebels coming out of the woodwork. Repeating old folksy arguments, and claiming supreme truth.
This is sooo 19th century...
just goes to show you that the unthinking mass will remain the unthinking mass.
More rhetoric and no substance.
Let's recap this thread for those playing at home.
The "arguments" set forth by the religious nuts so far amount to the following:
1. Atheists are more annoying than Christians.
2. Atheists are more evangelical than Christians.
3. All humans, both atheistic and religious, are irrational beings ruled by emotions with their beliefs as thinly veiled icing on a primordial cake.
4. Christians have not been responsible for mass genocide.
5. God wants us to have free will.
6. Atheists use "old arguments" that have do not hold water.
All of these arguments I have refuted with supporting evidence.
And yet, not one of the religious types have been able to offer a compelling rebuttal using evidence and logic to support their reasoning.
So until you are going to actually provide some substance and evidence for your claims that "other groups have messed up too" and use facts to contradict the points I have made, dismiss with the hyperbolic ad hominem bullshit and man up.
All I've heard so far is "No, you're wrong" from the religious crowd without a scant piece of logical argument to back up their ridiculous claims.
Grow a pair and make a coherent point, or shut the fuck up and go back to feeling guilty about existing because you can't please your imaginary friend in the sky.

That's bullshit Joe, sorry. What the hell did humans engineer? - life forms? please...
