Why does science need limits to what it can study?

A phenomenon exists whether you know it first hand or not. There are people who would hide any inkling of being different in such a serious way, they would not want to be freaks, especially growing up. I've seen firsthand enough to convince me anyway, that theres more than coincidence going on. In history people would be burned for claiming such things, hell, atheism is still a death penalty on this planet, examples here show the contempt for such concepts.

If in human experience something "exists" to some. Whatever that is. I say use science to learn more about it, prove or disprove the experiences as just being "in the mind" ha ha get it...both perceptions of the experiences happen in the mind...I win!

I understand and agree with the "crackpot theory's". They would be out of control, look at religion, seems crackpot but many still believe. We don't have a God detector so we use probability (science anyway) and it's reeeaal low probability that there is an almighty....but possible.

The CIA spent money onsome sort of "far seeing project" in the 60's I think, I'd love to see a video about it
anyway as I ramble...my point is: I am a scientist...in my mind anyway, I wish to see a phenomenon, that fakers have unfortunately helped destroy any credibility that could be sucked from the mud.......is that a real expression?

Yeah dude, that kid's too good at yelling "I'm gunna run away and never come back" for this to be fake. A faker wouldn't be able to muster a convincing yell like that, at least not without choking halfway through and having it turn into a laugh, or at least crack a smile, you know what I mean? I admit the timing of the kid running in and out is rather suspect, but damn, if this is fake, that's the best damn 11 year old actor in history.

Meh, I had an explanation of everything but it was way to long. In short, this isn't fake, but it IS most likely a demo produced with the intent of selling his idea to a bigger company.

Oh you're so going to have to eat all those words... this is faker than a fake thing covered in fake stuff and served in a fake store.

Look at the first part of this video. WHY would you have depth of field changes (focus pulling) other than it being a pre-rendered demo from a cg artist as it is.

Then go to OTOYs website the 'tech' behind this and look at their screenshots of environments and notice how much lower quality they are than those you see in many shots of this patched together collection of video from all over the place.

Then read that it requires a plugin whereas this video states 'no plugin required', which begs the question, how do you get any sort of interactive environment on a phone, server generated or not, without some sort of plugin? Going to render it in HTML?

Sure there are those looking at serverside rendering, but the graphics shown in this demo are NOT server side rendered real time images being able to be created for x thousand people all using the system at once

Saying that they hired him because they use more of his video in this than just the opening is madness, it just states they stole MORE than just that opening render of his, they ALSO stole the renders he did of the mustang and truck.

Also, cityspace exists as another company, but then it's tagged as Liveplace. Liveplace exists as a website with... shock, NOTHING on it other than an email harvester

Such a steaming load of crappy fake crap.

Just ask yourself, if it wasn't fake at all, WHY have the clips from the guy's renderings in there at all? WHY?

And some of the stuff in there is just previous OTOY material..

And then there are a collection of still renders thrown in there for no good reason.

It is a woman pretending to be a robot.

Why?
* Look at/in her mouth when she talks, that's a real mouth working right there
* Her movements are what a bad actress would think a robot would move like but not how humanoid robots actually move (like, robots have no reason to have stupidly slow blinks anymore, they can do that perfectly quickly now)
* The 'inventor' is doing his bit really badly as well, he's no inventor of a robot.
* Also, isn't it interesting that they don't actually SHOW anything of the 'expo' they are obviously supposed to be in due to the sound they've added...
* And yeah, they really have a robot that cooks dinner and converses... yeeeeeah.
* Oh, and they show themselves on a google map on their contact page, but that address don't exist on no google map page.

But don't worry pprt, I'm sure they're not trying to actually get any money out of this other than a marketing gimick thing, they won't be actually trying to raise money for robot purchases/builds. In fact it may purely be a social experiment to see how many people they can dupe, or some kind of art project. I don't mind these kinds of things, they're quite fun, what I DO mind is how many people just accept them as true, no critical eye whatsoever... it's maddening.

The majority of people will always be ignorant of politics or understanding of who they're voting for or why. This is because of how politics is played, you highlight your opponents weaknesses either directly or indirectly and you tell people why you'll make their situation better.

I'm not an American citizen but I pray to whatever God exists that Obama becomes the next President of the United States. Even if he turns out to be a poser or a faker at least he is speaking about changing the US and it's current ridiculous policies. McCain is nothing more than a third and possible fourth term of George Bush jnr. McCain and (God forbid) Hillary Clinton would simply perpetuate the slide the US and the world is in at the moment. Obama is talking about doing things different, which is clearly what the world needs. The definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. That is what the Presidency would be under McCain or Hillary.

Those Americans that voted for Bush, especially a second time need a arse kicking. He's done nothing but create instability in the world both with his wars and his economic policies and spending which is sending the US down the tube.

I live in a community known as a good place to go when you are living on the streets. We have the resident weirdo homeless, we have the down-on-their-luck families and we have the transient kids. I sometimes keep mcdonalds and taco bell bucks in my wallet and give them to homeless, and they are always very gratefully received. I've lived here a long time, and I know the regulars, and I know the look of the transients. I also know there are kids who come to downtown to beg as a lark. As a matter of fact, my own son has cadged for change downtown.

All that is to say that I know there are fakers, but I also know there are people who really need it. I think I have some chance of telling who is who. I think if I never gave a bit of coin to a beggar, it would be worse for me than it would be to give coin a few times when it wasn't really needed. Now, granted, I am much more likely to give money for a product or service (the people selling tamales or strawberries, for instance, or even a song), but sometimes, as a human being, you have to look at another human being asking for help, and for the tiny amount it costs you, just not say no.

This is an important topic, and I think that investigative reporting is good, but somehow, I can't bring myself to upvote this, because the story seems somewhat meanspirited.
