conan says...problem is: compare the mA/h values of the AA's. They reach from 800mA/h in "cheap" models (which most likely you'll find in the 6V block) to over 2300mA/h in "premium" ones. That's the simple reason why duracell etc. are more expensive than your average wal mart ones...
