Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits
I know it's already in the tags, but red Reebok hi-tops and a white sweat band can only mean *80s!
As for Knopfler, his virtuosity and musicianship are impeccable. Some of his best is, imho, the country music he's recorded... check out the "Notting Hillbillies", his album with Chet Atkins is superb, and his more recent projects with Emmylou Harris are stunning.
(Wo)mans Best Friend - Gin The Awesome Dancing Dog!
This reminds me of the American woman doing her dance with a dog. I think it was a country music one? Where is it on VS?

With your wealth of music info, you're probably aware, but kd lang, early in her career thought she was channeling Patsy. Thus, kd lang and the "reclines", her early band.

Patsy Cline (b. Virginia Patterson Hensley September 8, 1932 – March 5, 1963) was an American country music singer, who enjoyed pop music crossover success during the era of the Nashville Sound in the early 1960s. Since her death at the age of 30 in a 1963 plane crash at the height of her career, she has been considered one of the most influential, successful, revered, and acclaimed female vocalists of the 20th century. Her life and career has been the subject of numerous books, movies, documentaries, articles, and stage plays.
Cline was best known for her rich tone and emotionally expressive voice, which, along with her role as a mover and shaker in the country music industry, has been cited and praised as an inspiration by many vocalists of various music genres.

George Takei sings Country!
Is it an insult to country music that George Takei sang a country song, or is it an insult to George Takei that he sang a country song? Should I upvote this twice (with my sock puppet), or downvote this twice (with someone else's sock puppet)? I am so confused.

WTF? (Blog Entry by MarineGunrock)
When I was single I came to a point where I refused to date girls who we're really into the whole rap thing. I would point out the ridiculous lyrics and stolen music but they'd just say something stupid like "Boy why you be such a hatter?" It's about that time I would tell them not to call me ever again and listen to music on the ride home that actually had distinguishable lyrics whilst ignoring them every time they called my phone.
I'll take nails on a chalk board, or even country music before that steamy pile of cow dun they call rap.
If you would like to hear more about my pet peeves please send me $5 U.S. plus shipping and handling, and you'll receive my book; "things I hate, and why you should hate them too." Act now and you'll receive a fingernail cliping from my middle finger.
Oh my God. It gets even worse
To those of you claiming she's some random hired actress...she's not. It's Kellie Pickler, a contestant on Americal Idol a couple season's back. She now has an young, but promising country music career and has even won some CMT awards (I believe). She was a moron from the first time America ever saw her at the early American Idol auditions.

"Highway Patrol" by Junior Brown`
The current country music artists are so cookie cutter it's pathetic. Jr. is his own man. From "Guit Steel Blues"...."I'm walkin' thru the barnyard, and I've got it all over my shoes. Yeah, I'm walkin' thru the barnyard and I've got it all over my shoes. I'm sittin' on this old John Deere tractor, with a big ol' bag of that beechnut chew."
Man, that's country!
Air Autobahn In Afghanistan
Also this is Afghanistan not Iraq. I've been trying to find out what the the title and artist of that music but without any luck. Sounds rather like country music.
Deep Purple (1968) Hush -performed on "Playboy After Dark"
Pre-Ian Gillan they barely sound like the Deep Purple most people think of. Very groovy though. I was just reading that this song was written as a country music song.![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/oh.gif)
