Cute Girl Shows Off her Hooping Skills

visionep says...

So raver culture has infiltrated country music festivals? Awesome.. I always knew the two were related in some way.

<alternate comment>

There are some people that shouldn't wear spandex... and then again there are some people should, especially when they are showing off for a video that I am going to be able to view.

Grammarville Lesson One: Comma Rules

messenger says...

Downvoted for overall poor concept and delivery <comma> for oversimplifying rules <comma> for glossing over rules that aren't absolute or are debated (the "Oxford comma") <Oxford comma> and for having mistakes in punctuation in a video about proper punctuation <exclamation point>

To wit: "...when country music comes on the radio, COMMA, I go crazy!"

Rule: If a subordinate clause comes before the main clause, you need a comma between the two.

hee-haw-where o where did you go?

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

My parents, being from Oklahoma and great country music fans had great expectations when they heard about this new show coming out. Finally a good country music show. When it debuted and was actually corn-pone humour and sterotyped characters they were kind of offended and we never really watched it. Buck Owens was great though.

Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler

Only One Has Been Consistent. Only One Has Been Right.

For better or worse, finally a republican candidate who wants to challenge the status quo.

It's amazing he's even allowed to be nominated.

Let me get this straight, Dr. Paul.

You want to close all the military bases, end the wars, hobble the defense contractors, slash the budget to nothing, fire all the federal employees nation wide, then hold to a sort of good neighbor policy in terms of pollution and regulatory abuse in the Laissez faire right wing utopia you unleash on the world for four or more years.

A crack-pot Texas gynecologist who isn't Ivy League, and doesn't carry a Skull and Bones card in his wallet.

I was thinking that said something positive about America until I remember the last Republican vice presidential nomination.

Anyone who is a member the Republican party for any semblance of ideals and philosophy will vote for Ron Paul. The rest of them just like country music, kevin costner movies, flashy advertisements and anything else that doesn't require their concentration for more than five minutes.

so you don't agree with racism.
But sometimes, poor quality music videos you happen to dislike make you racist? o_O?

no, i happened to find that comment funny. obviously (at least to me), enzo was joking. the idea that that video could make someone racist is humorous, considering the video's content.

anyway, i took your response as towards my comment, not my upvote for enzo. how my comment could be construed as racism, i do not know. you would have to make assumptions about my character to come to that conclusion. rap culture certainly isn't just a "black" thing. if you want to call me culturally biased or a bigot, that's fine, but you're going to have to join the club, because by your reasoning most people would be considered bigots. i wonder if you would be defending this position if i had made a similar comment about country music (and i absolutely do have similar feelings towards country music).

Joe Rogan: The American War Machine

Taint says...

Wow, I admit that I also didn't expect this with the name "Joe Rogan" on the title.

But that was a pretty concise representation of the truly salient, and inherent problems with US Foreign policy, and with some good editing and clips to boot.

I can't say I'm in love with the building seven bit at the end though.

Operation Northwoods clearly shows it's not beyond question for nefarious plans against our own citizens to reach the highest offices of the Pentagon and even meet with approval.

But I just find it nearly impossible to believe that the same minds who could conceive and carry out a plan like this would not realize that they could've gotten away with whatever they want for far, far less than anything approaching the scale of nearly destroying downtown Manhattan.

I mean the Gulf of Tonkin Incident was some destroyer out somewhere in a sea most Americans couldn't find on a map if their lives depended on it. And that was enough of an excuse to invade south east asia!

Keep in mind that the Gulf of Tonkin Bullshit story was drafted AFTER operation Northwoods was rejected by Kennedy. They already knew that a justification to gear up the military required nearly nothing. So why would they stage this elaborate hoax to accomplish what they could do anyway? Hell, even the first Gulf War showed the American appetite for war was a lot different then what they dealt with in the late 60's and 70's.

Americans these days only need a short empty speech with zero content, a flag waving fireworks extravaganza, a country music song or two and we'd be willing to invade fucking Canada.

It wasn't needed.

Also, and probably more importantly, if building seven can only be explained by controlled demolition then where are all the engineers on this topic? Why does it only seem to be people without a professional background in such things the ones saying it couldn't have happened when the boilers exploded or whatever the official claim states.

And if destroying some sort of unique treasure trove of financial documents was the goal then it seems an awfully elaborate way to torch a building, but what do I know I guess.

I'm just typing too much.

B.W. Stevenson - On My Own, 1972

chicchorea says...

I much recommend the self titled album(CD) B W Stevenson. It can be had on eBay for a decent price if you are paient. I just checked and it is available in a compilation CD there.

If you/your dad have good sound systems, you will be amazed the sound of these recordings. Stevenson was networked with some incredible talent.

That's amusing that THIS was called pop country in light of what country music is now... I'm digging this and it's also the kind of stuff my dad likes. There's a best of album on amazon I'm taking a gander at...
>> ^chicchorea:
Don't you love all the genre tags?
It was called Country Pop at one point!?
The Texas music scene was a lot of fun back then and some since.
Stevenson had a couple of hits. They were his lesser works IMHO.
I am happy you like it. I expected no votes on these actually.
>> ^residue:
I've never heard of "progressive country" I like it

Jenna Bush is a Terrible Terrible Reporter-Just Terrible

garmachi says...

I like that you're trying to be objective. Look for other occurrences; most are cringe-worthy. The piece she did on Nashville and country music this morning was so full of blunders, mispronunciations and awkward deliveries that it prompted me to seek out examples. They were easy to find.
