The last bit of faith I had in the ways of old is now gone. All that steel hammering and for what? Stamp out a sword from cold steel.

That's my cyberpunk samurai. A disillusioned samurai in a not too distant future 3D prints a sword out of plastic and kills robots made out of martian alloy.

His faith is restored when he realizes it is not the sword that makes the samurai, but the way of Bushido which allows man to overcome the tyranny of martian robots. That and a moderate amount of armor blessed by the spirits of earth and infused with the wielder's chi, such that to break earth's samurai defender's armor would be to shatter his very soul. Split a bullet with a glance.

The sword he's using is a "Musashi Damacus Katana", which is a whopping $180 on their website.
Now call me skeptical, but I do not believe you can buy a quality sword for $180 (given that a decent blunt iaito starts at around $600 and a proper shinken starts at several thousand).
So really, this is just some muppet with a crappy sword who thinks he's a "ninja".



The deal with Cold Steel blades is that for the price, you get better steel and better precision craftsmanship than someone in their class 500 years ago could never have or afford. They are strong n durable, sharp as fuck, and they take an edge like nobody's business. I have had and still have several examples of Cold Steel's folders and fixed blades. Good shit, highly recommended.

Exactly. Bringing a deadly weapon to a fight (or assault situation) probably just increases your chances of fatality; it is quite easy to turn a noob's knife against them, and worse, an assailant who might've let you free will see your weapon-weilding as legitimating lethal action against you (heck, it's self-defense after all).

That's Lynn Thompson, the founder of Cold Steel. He's a bit of a character, but he's a salesman doing his thing. I don't see how he can practice martial arts as much as he claims to and still be so rotund and out of breath after a few sword swipes, but his company does make great knives. I have a Rajah II, a medium and large Espada, and a Spartan. All awesome knives.
