Improbable Collapse: The Demolition of Our Republic.

Par says...

We can certainly agree on at least one thing -- the government is indeed significantly underhanded and overwhelmingly untrustworthy. As Winston Churchill somewhat dryly said, "Do not criticise your government when out of the country; never cease to do so when at home." Of course, I'm all in favour of asking questions -- equally vital, however, is recognising answers.

The idea that the President is liar and that the Central Intelligence Agency have their moments of incompetence is one I'd never even dream of contesting. However, as I've said, until I see compelling evidence either that the current reports are drastically inaccurate or that any kind of appreciable cover-up has taken place, I cannot faithfully show any solidarity with those pushing for a new investigation.

Your Boys Took a hell of a beating! Funny Soccer commentary

BicycleRepairMan says...

Here is the complete translation:(bold text translated from Norwegian)

We are the best in the world* !!, the best in the world*!!! We have beaten england, we have beaten ENGLAND!! England: Birthplace of the giants, Lord Nelson, Lord Beaverbrook, Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Anthony Eden, Clement Atlee, Henry Cooper, Lady Diana!!! We have beaten all of them , we have beaten all of them!!! Maggie Thatcher. Can you hear me Maggie Thatcher? Your boys took one hell of a beating. Your boys took one hell of a beating."

*I know this is terrible english grammar, but he doesnt really specify if he means the team, all Norwegians or whatever, a better translation would probably be just "We are the best!!" or "We are the Champions" but we didnt really win the world championship or anything, its just that Lillelien thinks "we are The Best" at that moment

The Truth Behind 9/11

aaronfr says...

wow! I got an eternal upvote; I don't even know what that is. And from choggie no less.

The video already speaks volumes of truth. However when you say that people are caught in the middle I have to disagree a bit, at least on the part about the people in the towers. I'm not gonna pull a Ward Churchill and call them "little Eichmans," but I would say they were part of the game. Certainly, most of them were great people just doing their jobs and not really wishing any kind of malice on the world. But they were working at one of the epicenters of this massive struggle among financial groups, military-industrial complexes, and oil firms. After all, it was the "World Trade Center" in the heart of Wall Street.

Just to reiterate, the people in the towers were innocent civilians who did not deserve to executed in such a horrific manner, but unlike some of the victims, those working in the financial sectors were part of this deadly game. They are more like pawns than bystanders.

Gallipoli - Final Scene: "How Fast Are You Gonna Run?"

mattsy says...

Yes, Churchill formulated the plans for The Dardanelles/Gallipoli campaign, but you can hardly blame him for all of its failures. You could easily blame the decisions of Horatio Kitchener (Britain's unquestionable war hero and Secretary of State for War at the time) and other British officials as well (even Hamilton) who withheld manpower and munitions. Through hindsight, it's still up in the air whether the offensive maneuver would have worked if it had been viewed as completely viable. But it's a bit simple to paint Churchill as the only architect of this disaster, I don't think MINK is doing that, but I think that seems to be the historical misconception to this day.

Funniest Ever Football Commentary Moments

deputydog says...

The last piece of commentary is hilarious. The sound isn't that clear so here's what he says as Norway beat England..

'Lord Nelson! Lord Beaverbrook! Sir Winston Churchill! Sir Anthony Eden! Clement Attlee! Henry Cooper! Lady Diana! Maggie Thatcher - can you hear me, Maggie Thatcher! Your boys took one hell of a beating! Your boys took one hell of a beating!'

War is a Force that Gives us Meaning by Chris Hedges (1H)

Farhad2000 says...

Whenever I see someone advocating war, I can't wait to see them personally experience it.

What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?

- Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948), "Non-Violence in Peace and War"

Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events.

- Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.

- Dwight D. Eisenhower, From a speech before the American Society of Newspaper Editors, April 16, 1953

mkone ... nice vid! i changed your posts because your title is 'atheist delusion', so you don't need those as tags because they are essentially tags when someone goes to search ... i also removed 'funny, joke' because the comedy channel means the same ... you can get more tags that way to better assist people in finding this find should they want to post it, thus eliminating dupes! phew! that was long!
