These Women Are About To See Their Vaginas For First Time

Woman 'denied a termination' dies in hospital -- TYT

harlequinn says...

Amniotic fluid does not cause septicaemia.

An alive foetus does not cause septicaemia.

A dead foetus does not cause Escherichia coli - but it can eventually cause septicaemia if it were not delivered - usually this happens by spontaneous delivery from the mothers body aborting the pregnancy. As it was they immediately delivered the baby upon cessation of its heart beat.

The septicaemia was caused by Escherichia coli - specifically a new Extended-Spectrum Beta Lactamase strain that is highly resistant to antibiotics. This bacteria is contracted in the hospital environment. This bacteria did not originate from the foetus.

So to roughly answer your question, to remove the source of the septicaemia would be to remove the source of the Escherichia coli, which is the hospital. I can't say if she would have survived outside of the hospital or not, but she probably would not have contracted the Escherichia coli and she probably would have safely delivered through spontaneous abortion.

It's sad she died, but the medical reason for her death was not a lack of abortion. It was from contracting a new deadly bacteria strain that is found in hospitals and is very hard to treat. It was probably contracted directly from either a doctor, another patient, a medical instrument, or a surface she touched within the hospital. These new antibiotic resistant bateria are a major problem worldwide killing many otherwise healthy people every year.

Here's a quote for you. The husband of the deceased:
“The doctor told us the cervix was fully dilated, amniotic fluid was leaking and unfortunately the baby wouldn’t survive.” The doctor, he says, said it should be over in a few hours. There followed three days, he says, of the foetal heartbeat being checked several times a day.
“Savita was really in agony. She was very upset, but she accepted she was losing the baby. When the consultant came on the ward rounds on Monday morning Savita asked if they could not save the baby could they induce to end the pregnancy. The consultant said, ‘As long as there is a foetal heartbeat we can’t do anything’.
“Again on Tuesday morning, the ward rounds and the same discussion. The consultant said it was the law, that this is a Catholic country. Savita [a Hindu] said: ‘I am neither Irish nor Catholic’ but they said there was nothing they could do.
“That evening she developed shakes and shivering and she was vomiting. She went to use the toilet and she collapsed. There were big alarms and a doctor took bloods and started her on antibiotics.
“The next morning I said she was so sick and asked again that they just end it, but they said they couldn’t.”
At lunchtime the foetal heart had stopped and Ms Halappanavar was brought to theatre to have the womb contents removed. “When she came out she was talking okay but she was very sick. That’s the last time I spoke to her.”

Now, do you think they should have removed the source of that septicaemia sooner?

From the linked article "An autopsy carried out by Dr Grace Callagy two days later found she died of septicaemia “documented ante-mortem” and E.coli ESBL."
The risk of septicaemia is the same whether the baby dies by itself or whether the baby is killed by Drs (i.e. an abortion) - in both cases the baby is born dead and it is the medical intervention itself that presents the risk for complications. This is well documented in medical literature.

You want to maybe post some of that literature? Because if not, you're just a fucking liar.

Not posting any literature doesn't make me a liar - it just makes you uninformed - sorry, "fucking uninformed".

Men with Smaller Penises Usually Make Better Lovers

youdiejoe says...

GIRTH is the thing, depth...no more than 8" to 9" or the ladies cervix is gonna be unhappy. Also getting anything above those lengths hard and keeping it that way without the dudes getting woozy is next to impossible. After working in the "Adult Industry" (shooting video, not loads) for the past couple of years I do speak with some real world experience here.

From a personal level, as a guy who has been "blessed" with girth I can say it is a double edged sword (pun intended), you have to be careful not be too aggressive with your action or you will do some splitting. Fun at first yes, but you are more than likely gonna put your lovers vagina on the DL for a few days, and that is NO BUENO! Talking to female talent during porn shoots, when the subject of size, girth and length came up, 98% would say girth over length and prefer avg size cock with good girth, or even smaller cock with normal girth. Length was ALWAYS poo poo'd as being useless past the 9" mark. Spending hours (not kidding) waiting for male talent to get hard cuz they have too much cock...and then the short window of being able to keep it that way makes it rather useless. It's the main reason we never book talent over 9".

An Important Question About Sex While Pregnant.

Girl Cannot Handle Getting A Tiny Tattoo! (Fail!)

persephone says...

Lots of women sound like that giving birth. A good midwife, however, will get her to change the pitch of the scream. A deeper, lower pitch will be a much more effective use of her vocal cords, both to relieve pain and also help open the cervix. You can also tell by the scream, how close she is to getting ready to push. A really grunty, low scream is when she's feeling pushy.

Women in labour need to know there's nothing wrong with making lots of noise. Someone needs to tell them, though that the deeper the noise, the better.

BTW all the judgement in this thread about what a wus this girl is, along with all the assumptions about what kind of a person she is, based on this, is really lame.

I'm pro vaccine no argument here.

In reply to this comment by persephone:
You could only be advocating total abstinence as a smart choice, then Kommie, because warts can be transmitted by the balls touching the outside of the vulva. I know women who got it whilst in a monogamous relationship with their very first boyfriend, who showed no sign of warts and who always used a condom.

He was a carrier and didn't realise he had it and she did the responsible thing by insisting on a condom every time. I wouldn't say her choices were bad ones. Warts is an epidemic and so easily transmitted, you'd have to be a monk not to get it these days-hence the vaccine.

In reply to this comment by K0MMIE:
You're right, and its really a shame that poor choices made early in life will affect them the rest of their life, but honestly poor choices got them there.

In reply to this comment by persephone:
You wouldn't make such an asinine comment if you knew what it's really like to have warts. It itches and burns like hell. Sex is basically impossible, because your whole vagina is so sore. A guys penis will feel like he's ramming you with a knife, if you try sex. Many women have it without realising it until it's severe, because the warts may be inside, hidden from view, like around the cervix.

There's nothing tickly about having warts.

In reply to this comment by K0MMIE:
Sure, Genital warts (or Condyloma, Condylomata acuminata, or venereal warts) is a highly contagious sexually transmitted infection caused by some sub-types of human papillomavirus (HPV).

Basically what I am saying is that her vagina may get some french ticklers.

In reply to this comment by persephone:
What are you saying here?

HPV = Human Paplova Virus = Genital Warts. Yeah, your love hole is ruined for life.

Contraception for Women

persephone says...

I didn't think the IUD was offered to women who have never given birth. This poor girl's experience is probably fairly typical for an untried cervix.

Apart from their failure rate, I wouldn't recommend the diaphragm for its difficulty in inserting properly, as well as its discomfort. Depending on which direction your cervix is pointing (it changes during your cycle) at the time, it can be tricky trying to know if you have it in right.

My boyfriend used to complain that it felt like he was banging against a rubber wall and usually it felt like I was stuffed full of rubber. It even makes a very distracting squeak!

Rembar, go back to the video and listen at about 3:22. He says "the amygdala says this is not a safe place for birth... and the process of labour shuts down voluntarily until a safe haven can be found to birth"

He doesn't say the amygdala shuts down, but the process of labour does. He is absolutely correct in saying this, because when a woman experiences fear in labour, adrenalin neutralises oxytocin, which causes contractions to come to a screeching halt.

Later he says "the amygdala shuts down the system", meaning the system of birth and the interplay of hormones that I just described.

I have also been involved in many births, as a doula, and a brief stint as a trainee midwife and as a mother. I can tell you from my experience in all of these situations, that when a woman is afraid, her labour is sabotaged.

I can also tell you from my experience of birthing in a hospital, that hospitals can make a woman terrified. Routine procedures like putting an IV insert into her wrist upon arrival "just in case you need to have a caesarian" do nothing to send a positive message that she is going to be able to deliver with ease.

Telling a woman that her baby is in fetal distress because "It's not moving enough (prior to the onset of established labour), and telling her that "If you don't get it out today, chances are it will have an apgar score of 4 or less and its survival will be compromised" is using absolutely disgraceful fear tactics and is the kind of lies women are told, to get them to agree to hospital procedures like inducing labour at 10 days past the due date.

My amygdala serves me well in remembering these words, because the birth of my little girl was one of the most devastating days of my life. Not because she was in distress (she had apgars of 9 and 10), not because she was born with compromised well-being, she was perfectly healthy, but because birthing her was like going into battle.

We had to fight for the right to birth her naturally throughout the entire labour. Eight hours into established and difficult labour (because let me tell you, synthetic pitocin is no party. My cervix tore from the force of its unnaturally rapid dilation) the good doctor wanted to speed things up with an IV!

I'm happy to say that Dag was an amazing advocate for me, and we staved off the lions and did the rest of the labour naturally.

So, if you have any more questions about why hospitals are not a safe place to birth for the happy and healthy, just forward them to me, I'd be happy to tell you details of not-so-lucky women.

In reply to your comment:
Deathcow, I'm not sure how closely you read into my previous comment, but I'm not talking about his conclusions. I agree to a large extent with his larger social and economic reasoning for why hospitals push women towards surgical procedures and chemically-induced contractions to speed up births. But that's no excuse for scientifically inaccurate claims. He's wrong. There's no two ways about it. Unless of course, in the middle of all those births, you witnessed some poor woman's amygdala shutting down and stopping her contractions in the middle of labor because a hospital setting scared her.
