Re-enactments: Always Reboot First

skinnydaddy1 says...

Meh, He's not bitter... I watched a helldesk guy rip his headphones off. Open the bottom drawer in the desk. yell in to the mic "You're in the penalty box!" slam the headset in to the drawer and slam it shut and walk out of the building... He had spent an hour trying to help a lost cause.

We called those type of customers the 12 O'clock flashers. People too stupid to be able to set the clocks on any electronics in the house so they all flash 12:00.....

Every IT guy has his stories. They almost always end the same way.....
He's the person leaving the liquor store with the two cartons of cigs and the daily supply of JD...

after 6 months on the phone the only other job he's qualified for is Hostage Negotiator.

I miss glass soda bottles. On the other hand, I also remember the 80's when there was pretty much always broken glass on the ground everywhere all the time. I don't miss that.

I wonder what soda from a paper carton would taste like.

Smoking vs Vaping

AeroMechanical says...

Vaping is a great way to quit smoking. If you want to quit smoking, do that. Don't buy the drugstore stuff (Blu, etc.), though. Look for a shop or website that specializes in it and buy proper equipment and quality e-liquid.

I prefer to make my own e-liquid because quality control is easier buying ingredients separately (reputable suppliers will provide test documentation from third-party chemistry labs per batch). Also, it's much cheaper to make your own.

A high quality setup (battery, tank, coils) costs about the same as a carton of cigarettes. Mixing my own liquid (not hard, three ingredients, just mix 'em up), I spend about a dollar a week on that when you average it out.

Egg Roulette with Tom Cruise

artician says...

Glad Tom Cruise is such a good sport, however he should have grabbed the whole carton to crush around Fallons head at the end. No one could have blamed him.

Next step add a room that can move and shudder, flashing lights and smoke effects. You could charge for that experience!

I have a torch and a carton of kools. If you have yourself a industrial strength subwoofer, we have ourselves a business.

An Egg INSIDE an egg!

Dumdeedum says...

I've got five hens and while I can't remember ever having a complete egg including shell inside an egg, every couple of months I'll get a much bigger egg that has two yolks inside. I'd guess it's the same sort of chance occurrence that produces twins in humans.

They're also usually too big to fit into a standard egg carton, so they'll get filtered out by commercial egg places and that means the average consumer will never encounter them.

"Revolutionary" Milk Carton On Austrian Television (1980's)

Friesian says...

Being an Englishman living in America, man did I get funny looks from my colleagues when I used the phrase "cock up" in a training seminar. Everyone thought I'd said the rudest thing in the history of mankind, while I was all, "what?">> ^Quboid:

Ahh, "It'll be alright on the night", that was a great show that I remember from my childhood.
On the topic of the particular video though... how could they not have actually demonstrated to him how he was supposed to use the carton before going on tv to demonstrate? Ineptitude

This was great stuff. Especially pleasing to hear crusty old English gentlemen say "cock up". That's a phrase that needs to come back.
