Ooops

Think "Brainstorm," Play. Think "Green Needle," Play. Repeat

Sagemind says...

This is Ben Ten and the Omnitrix.
The Character is Brainstorm.

I really hate these things.
I'm hearing three syllables - so it comes out as something similar to Green needles, but kind of garbled.
More like "Brae-needles" to me

What I don't understand is how it could be Brainstorm which is only two syllables,

Tel Aviv - Incredible Amateur Audio/Video Mashup

GenjiKilpatrick says...

From the ages of 14 to 19, all I wanted to become.. was a crazy dancin' robot.

This was heavily influenced by two things:
A - 80's 90's Beat juggling & scratching
B - Crazy sounds & tools found in Fruity Loops/FL Studio software

I would spend hours & hours beatbox brainstorming, searching for new samples, teaching myself how to use each tool, tweaking & re-tweaking each song.

During those years, it was was my singular passion.

The only way to escape all the boredom, social anxiety, depression & loneliness. = /
It was the only truly enjoyable thing during those days.

Listen to the tracks - October & Sundays - if you care to..

See if you can't feel that awkward, friendless, barely aware 17 year old tuba player, just yearning to poplock, beatbox & robot-music-sound his way into some Daft Punk like anonymous fame.

..hard to believe it's been a decade..

Sure..., it's got a beat, but no soul.
This sort of thing, although creative - which is great, that is killing music today. Musicians no longer play instruments, or even know how. It's too perfect as it strips out any human element to lets us relate to it. Sad for the future of music, if this is what we have to look forward to...

I am in brainstorming mode. *audio with a backsplash of Soundsift.

The technicals will be worked out at work tomorrow while I stare down a 6" water well timing the drop rate for an hour, and then the recovery for an hour.

Comedy sifts
music sifts
speech sifts
first recordings of speech sifts

ALL have to be taken into account for the description. I am not in a hurry, when I build a House I build it out of bricks.

Go ahead and create the audiosift channel and I'll make it live.

Or Brainstorm.

Totally! And then next our dreams will be recordable like the Wim Wenders film "Till The End Of The World" and then all bets are off.>> ^dag:
Lifecasting will become the default. We'll all wear pendant cameras around our neck at all times. Nothing will go unrecorded, but we'll share the good parts. How many terabytes would be required to store 80 years of life at say 720P?>> ^deathcow:
With the advent of cheap quality cams, infinite storage, etc. It probably wont be long before car insurance requires little cams around all car corners. Liability will be as simple as reviewing the footage from all cars nearby.

Maybe it's time I created a channel... (Sift Talk Post)

Hybrid says...

Hmmm, actually. I've just noticed there's an Islam channel, and after reading it's description it's very, VERY similar to what I had in mind for the Middle East channel. It's just far too similar, it pretty much is a Middle East channel (or at least encapsulates it).

Back to the brainstorming.

What do you think about this idea for the Sift Lounge??? ((see description)) (User Poll by JiggaJonson)

Sagemind says...

Oh no! - You can't trick me into watching a Mandy Moore Video... You almost got me but I caught on quickly... Evil Lurks around every corner and I am forever vigilant!! Mwaaaahahahaha....

Ok, in the midst of my brainstorming i've come across something that seems a bit more do-able. this is some kind of weird spoof of pop up video done simply with a marquee running across the screen. It's obviously not done professionally and some of the bits, despite being quips, are pretty funny:

Apparently they wanted to call the song brainstorm but the copyright holder objected. Similar to Stereophonics' Just Enough Education to Perform story. They wanted to call the album Jeep...

Most of those were really cool, but some of those were obviously just the video makers brainstorming "What could you use could a flat or close to flat piece of metal for? Oh, I know! Tiny shield! Um...an oar! Flyswatter! Frying pan!" and so on.

Should We Bring back the Siftquisition? (User Poll by dag)

xxovercastxx says...

CDM's second paragraph is pretty accurate, but nothing says the SQ has to be done that way. SQs can work, but they need to be done quite a bit differently. I would propose a long brainstorming session before any reimplementation. This vote will almost certainly fail. I think a specific proposal should be put forth for vote instead of just the vague question.

A few thoughts off the top of my head:
- Voting on the SQ should not be allowed until adequate discussion of the case has occurred.
- An admin should decide what the punishment is. The Siftership should only decide guilt or innocence.
