Don't ever want to cross a street again. Ever
Isn't that what they teach in driving school under the name "Defensive Driving"?
I was thinking of that while watching the video because I was amazed at the number of people who could've avoided being hit* had they looked before starting into the intersection rather than just blindly following the light.
*Not blaming them for the collision--just observing that they're putting themselves in danger by not paying attention.
Knowing that there's always someone out there who's gonna try to run red light, I've developed the habit of looking both ways before going -- yes the same system for pedestrian, adapted for driving. Yes, I admit that there were a couple of times I accidentally ran reds. But any sane driver out there knows that if you don't know the timing of the yellow as it transitions to red, you're better off stopping anyway.

Seriously, what is up with some of these people? Those two shovelling snow were completely oblivious to a blinding flash of light like that?

Michio Kaku discusses the Science of Mass Effect 2
That was always the biggest question I had when I heard about this "cylinder" of light bending around an object. Yes, if you bent light around you, so that it recombined on the other side, you would in effect be totally blind because no light was reaching your eyes.
Michio Kaku described this as a problem in a video I saw here on the Sift a while back, and he said so far you'd basically have to cut two eye holes in the cylinder, but then there would just be two eyes floating around the room.

Thanks for the note and the link. I found a fix that was a bit better quality so I used it instead.

It's actually "cut loose like a deuce" in the Springsteen original and the tags were tongue-in-cheek, but w/e.

It's REVVED up like a deuce! Like a classic car - the deuce coupe. Also mentioned in a beach boys song.

Thanks for the note, I fixed it up. Thanks for the possible fix, it was a nice one but not the same as the original so I used a different source.
