Definitely blanks, but I'm impressed with his composure. Those things still hurt at close range.

You are correct about the blanks, although I believe it still would've been a miss with live ammunition. If it was aimed directly at his dome, blanks still eject gas hot enough to cause a loss of composure greater than his, for even the most hardened soldiers.

The account in the vid pales.

He sustained serious injuries from a land mine in Vietnam before undergoing SOG training at Ft. Bragg with the spinal injury. Almost unbelievable as far as that goes.
