Apple is the Patriot

Trancecoach says...

Au contraire, a patriot would not enable the State by funding its superfluous wars, banksters, and State cronies.

A patriot would do what he can to starve the Leviathan monster, not continue to feed it.

A patriot would help productive fellow citizens avoid the State's plunder altogether.

A patriot doesn't define "fair share" by whatever random numbers some self-serving politician and other government kleptocrats come up with. And only victims of the "public" education would think that patriotism is somehow equated with the desire to subject fellow citizens to such arbitrary theft extorted through violence or the threat thereof.

TDS: Minimum wage hike and the Pope denouncing Trickle Down

enoch says...

@Shepppard
ah...my young friend.
come over by the fire, your buddy enoch has some things to speak to you about.
are you comfy?
need a drink? beer? coffee?

then let us begin.

1.why do YOU care what another makes an hour?is it YOUR business?

but i understand the basic gist of your point:unskilled labor.

ok.thats a fair point.
but why is 15$ an hr too high?
what arbitrary scale are you comparing their hourly worth to?
walmart workers?

here is a facts that may give you some perspective:
a.if we take the minimum wage from 1978 and factor in inflation and worker productivity todays minimum should average 22$ an hour (yes...you read that right).
b.the workers in these unskilled jobs are in the high percentages in goverment subsidies.to the tune of 7 BILLION a year.so basically we ALL are subsidizing mcdonalds and walmart to pay their workers like shit.

so are you still against them getting a living wage? when you and i are subsidizing their income. the companies they work for get to pocket those profits, you and i get to help pay for their housing and food stamps.

walmart even helps ttheir employees sign up for food stamps! now isnt that adorable.

dont you think it a better idea that these companies pay their help at least enough where they dont need government susbizies? you know.like actually PAY them and not force us to?

2.if these corporations paid a minimum of 15$ an hr the projected hike in product prices will be......./drum roll.....
...........15 cents per item.........

3.how come it appears to be taboo to point to a CEO of a company who is making billions in bonuses while his/her workers are having to receive food stamps?
when did obscene gluttony and greed become something cool? even praiseworthy? while ridiculing those trying to survive and demanding a little bit of dignity as something to be chastised and cajoled for even having the impertinence to ask for a living wage.

the cognitive dissonance on display is on an epic scale.

who do YOU think you have more in common with?
the dude working at your local burger king?
or jamie dimon?

and dont even get me started on that condescending argument "get an education to get a better job".

i have been seeing many posts of late that reflect the very same flavor of yours @Shepppard and the one thing they all have in common is this judgemental value system that they just pulled out of their ass but in reality was given to them by the very people fucking them, and their children in the ass.

there will come a day when these people will realize they are slaves.
debt slaves.
wage slaves.
and while they were bickering the banksters and the corporate elite cleaned their clock.....
and they didnt notice until it was too late.

those elite fuckers.
they have a small club and you aint in it.
they dont like you.
they will never like you.
me?
im on your side man.

Russell Brand: Corrupt bankers need to go down!

Trancecoach says...

@ChaosEngine @Grimm @Yogi @cosmovitelli @radx

At this point, best I can do is withdraw my consent from the entire system. I refuse to organize against the governing forces since I have no intention of serving as a martyr. I'll help those who ask for help, but those who support or even fight for the governing forces don't want help and I therefore have no interest in helping them.

At this point mostly everyone at all levels is part of a machine that's gone out of anyone's "control." Obama doesn't control things. The banksters don't control things. The thing now just runs on its own accord, and will continue to do so for as long as enough people still continue to give their consent or are beneficiaries of it. This shitshow will contiue until it collapses from its own weight.

Bill Burr Takes Aim at Lance and Oprah on Conan...

Yogi says...

He did pay a price. He lost all his trophies that he won, to me that is the price you pay for cheating in a sport. A sport, that doesn't fucking matter. Yet we bring athletes in front of a Senate commission, and when they lie we try to throw them in jail? What happens when a President lies? What happens when a General lies? What happens when a Bankster lies?

You see this is the problem I have, people are disproportionately passionate about Armstrong or Barry Bonds cheating at a sport. Yet when people do serious harm in the world, kill people or risk the continuation of our species, nothing significant happens.

So no I don't give a shit, Armstrong did nothing wrong. He didn't kill anyone, he didn't poison the planet, he didn't throw children out on the streets to be homeless. He won some stupid little jerseys, and people care more about that then their own lives. It's pathetic, we deserve our fate.

Deano said:

To condense this more seriously, Armstrong was the organiser and chief perpetrator of PEDs in cycling.
Given the rules in which he operated he should pay a price. There is also the related legal backlash from various third parties - good luck there Lance.

But I do accept we need to ask if a war on PEDs is any different to the (arguably) failed war on drugs.

People *want* to see cyclists bombing along at speeds ordinary folk can't muster. They want to see Olympic records broken. You either do this by being a naturally outstanding athlete (e.g Bolt, who's on record as happy to chomp down chicken nuggets) or start doping.

It's bothered me a bit that improving yourself in this sense is beyond the pale but having access to the best facilities, coaching and medical staff while others skimp by with very little is somehow acceptable.

I think it's acceptable because it's a nonsense to try to police that. And perhaps it's the same with PEDs.

IIRC there was a British athlete who went on to voice support for PEDs. That was a long time ago and I don't recall the name. A few more today need to start questioning conventional thinking.

A 12-Year Old Girl's Devastating Critique of the Banks

GenjiKilpatrick says...

Dear @dystopianfuturetoday @Deadrisenmortal @Ryjkyj and @kymbos

Please stop being asshats.

This is clearly a very intelligent little girl.

Assuming she doesn't know what she's speaking about just because you couldn't grasp a topic "this complex" when you were 12, belittles that intelligence.

While her parents may have piqued her interest in this topic...
the basic concept of "wait, so banksters create money from thin air? but if we do, it's illegal?" is a fairly easy dichotomy to grasp. Even for a 12 year old person.

I was 12 was G.W. Bush was elected. I remember thinking how much of moron he was and how the election had to be rigged because there's no way someone that stupid was deserving of that position.

I think the biggest factor you're forgetting is: This young person has access to google & wikipedia i.e. the entire fountain of human knowledge & history at her finger tips.

If you're 12, you probably have a shit ton of questions about the world.
If you have interest enough and google, you can educate yourself on any term or concept or complex system in maybe.. 45 seconds.

So please, recognize and acknowledge this girl's intelligence.

Recognize that she [like I and millions of other young people] had a simple epiphany about how the "real world" works, that lead her to educate herself on the relevant subject out of a simple sense of justice and indignation.

TL;DR

Give this girl credit. Even a 12 year old can see how unjust our banking/business culture is.
She's had a "wtf" moment and access to google.

Cenk Loves It When Cenk Is Right

NetRunner says...

Sure he would. This whole video is him speculating that Carolyn Maloney will be the Democratic Party's ranking member in the finance committee, because that's who the banksters want.

And then he spends 5 minutes crowing about how right he is because an article got published in a newspaper that pretty clearly indicated banksters like her. So what? Only crazy Republicans think the newspapers work for the Democratic party.

Plus, every quote he took from the article was sourced to someone on Wall Street's side. Where's a source from, say, someone in the Democratic party who's part of the decision-making process? Nowhere to be found in Cenk's piece. But, in the article he's sourcing all this from, there's this:

“For Nancy Pelosi, Maxine is a three-fer,” said one congressional staffer, noting that it will be Ms. Pelosi who ultimately makes the determination if Democrats retake control. “She is a fellow Californian, she is an African-American woman, and it is her turn.”

And this:
“A lot of folks in the CBC [Congressional Black Caucus] would not look too kindly on an outside challenge,” said one Capitol Hill lobbyist. “They want to go back to the seniority system.”

And this:
For her part, Ms. Waters seems confident her long service will carry her through. “Let me let you in on a secret: I am the senior-most person serving on the Financial Services Committee,” she told the 2012 California State Democratic Convention last month. “Barney Frank is about to retire, and guess who’s shaking in their boots? The too-big-to-fail banks and financial institutions and all of Wall Street because Maxine Waters is going to be the next chair of the Financial Services Committee.”

Oh, so Nancy Pelosi, the CBC, and Maxine herself all think she's a lock? Well, that would kinda undercut Cenk's anti-Democratic spin, so he doesn't mention any of that.

Cenk's whole show seemed to just be a vehicle for bashing Democrats, often for things they aren't actually guilty of doing. Like...this whole thing about Carolyn Maloney, which is 100% speculation!

At this point he honestly seems to me like some sort of Karl Rove creation designed to depress Democratic turnout and liberal activism.

>> ^messenger:

Cenk would only say that Waters had sold out to the banks if it were demonstrably true. He's big on backing up his statements with facts. He would never just speculate that she "must have" sold out.

very instructive article.

But, my belief that these technocrats only serve whatever political dogma that serves the greedy banksters... is only strengthened by stuff like this.

I would like to send stuff like this to my friends, but they are all completely un-interested in these kinds of technical arguments.

anyhow I blogged that on my tumblr blog. thanks again!

Thom Hartmann Breaks Down Joe Walsh's Big Fat Lie

artician says...

Around 2m he says "...the banksters and their bought-off Republican members of congress..."

To me this seems like the same back and forth. It should be clear to most people at this point that both parties are entirely at fault. Not saying this guy is wrong, but as soon as someone in the media labels one group over another as faulty or responsible for the overall mess, it's not getting anyone in the US anywhere. It's just the same runaround they've used for years, with a new frantically, soon-to-be-out-of-a-job scapegoat.

I used to really hate her with a passion, I thought her show was atrocious, but she makes real sense here, certainly a lot more than any 'mainstream' American politician I've heard recently. Good luck to her!

You thought "Roseanne" was atrocious? Get the fuck out of my country!
